Chapter 25 Angela's New Project Idea for the Company - Part 2

Chapter 25 Angela's New Project Idea for the Company - Part 2
Angela stood on the bus on her way, wondering what Eva and Susan wanted from her. She just wished she could tell Eva that she was already married and hence didn't have any interest in Bernard, but Bryce had told her their marriage must remain a secret.

"Why marry me in secret and ask me to move in with you, when we are not living like a married couple?" Angela thought, and her mind shifted to Bryce.

She recalled the feel of his body when she slept in his arms. A smile crept up her face, and she began to blush. The bus stopped at her junction, snapping her out of her dreaming moment. She got down from the bus and started walking towards the Estate. She was already known by the security men. She greeted and walked through the gate, heading towards the apartment. She pushed the front door open and entered. Josephine welcomed her, and Angela acknowledged with a nod and headed for the staircase. She climbed up and headed for the bedroom.

Inside the bedroom, she tossed her bag onto the couch and took off her jacket. She dropped her jacket on the bed, and she kicked the shoes off her feet as she walked towards the bathroom. She took off her dress and dropped it on the floor right at the entrance of the bathroom, and entered the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She slid the bathroom door open and walked in. She had taken all her clothes off. She turned on the shower and allowed the water to flow down her body from her head down. She finished taking a bath and returned to the room to find all her stuff put in the right place. Josephine came to clean, so she took it that Josephine cleaned up. She dried her hair and found something simple from the closet to wear. She sat behind the table and started reviewing the project plan. There was a knock on the door, and without looking, she invited the person in.

"Angela, where did you go after work?" came Bryce's deep voice, but he sounded calm.

Angela jolted out of her seat as she was not expecting it to be Bryce. She stood up from behind the table and stood on the side, staring at him.

"I didn't go anywhere. I took the bus, and dropped off at the bus stop and walked to the Estate and the apartment," Angela replied.

"Hmmm," Bryce said and took a step towards her, but stopped, still keeping a distance between them. "So how did I get home before you?" he asked.

"I..I...I don't know," Angela stammered, wondering where he was going with his questions.

"You are my wife. We are legally married. Remember that," Bryce said and exited the room.

"What was that about?" Angela thought as she sat back down to continue what she was doing.

Outside, Bryce headed for the guest room he had been occupying since Angela moved in. He stood behind the closed door and wondered why he reacted that way. He had married Angela because she was the woman he lost his virginity to. He has no feelings for her, so why was he mad when he saw her enter Bernard, the known Casanova's car? He had made his plan already. When he decides he wants to have children with her, they will use insemination. He could have just warned her to stay away from other men, but why was he angry? That was something Bryce could not understand.

He sat behind his desk and reviewed Angela's project plan. He was satisfied with the timelines and the taste to be executed. It was a well-done plan. Now all they needed to do was engage the Don Entertainment Industry CEO with a proposal. He sent an email to Angela to draft the project proposal and set a meeting with CEO Don for 11 am the next day.

Back in Angela's room, she was behind her laptop, so she saw Bryce's email come through. She clicked on it, and it opened. She read and was happy that Bryce liked her project plan. She forgot about everything that happened and happily worked on the proposal. There was another knock on the door, and Angela stared at the door as she invited the person in.

"Good evening, ma'am. Sir is in the dining room. He is waiting for you," Josephine announced, and Angela knew it was supper time.

"Okay," Angela replied and turned her attention to her laptop as Josephine exited the room.

She saved her work and put the laptop into sleep mode before exiting the room. She came to the dining room, and Bryce was already sitting there waiting for her. He looked cold and expressionless.

"Good evening," Angela greeted to release the tension in the room, but Bryce only replied with a hmm.

Angela sat down, and they both ate in silence. Once done, Bryce stood up and headed for the door.

"The plan was great. Keep up with the good work," Bryce said and exited the dining room without waiting for a reply from Angela.

Angela soon left the dining room back to her room when she was done. She completed the proposal and sent it to Bryce. She picked up her schedule book and made a note to reach out to Don of the Don Entertainment industry to schedule the meeting for 11 am.

Once she was done, she stood up from behind the table and walked into the closet. She returned to the bedroom dressed in her sleepwear. She stared at the door for a while, hoping Bryce would walk in through the door, but he didn't. She climbed into bed and stared at the door, but he still didn't come. She turned off the bedside lamps and covered herself with the blanket, hoping her nightmares would not come back. She closed her eyes and soon drifted off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, she felt a hand shake her.

"Angela, wake up," Bryce's voice travelled to her ears.

She opened her eyes and found Bryce sitting halfway on the bed, holding her by her shoulders. She was covered in sweat and tears.

"What happened?" Bryce asked, and Angela just shook her head no. "You never had this before. So why now?" he questioned, his voice void of any emotion.

"Something happened to me when I was just thirteen. I just don't want to remember it. Please don't make me talk about it," Angela cried, and Bryce just stared at her tear-stained face.

"Then do something about this screaming in the middle of the night. You are disturbing everyone," Bryce said, and Angela just nodded.

Bryce stood up and was about to leave when Angela's voice stopped him.

"Please don't leave me alone," Angela said, and Bryce turned around.

He used the other side of the bed and climbed into it. He lay down with his back facing Angela, who was still sitting on the bed.

"Turn off the bedside lamp and sleep. It is 1 am," Bryce said and covered himself with the blanket.

Angela turned off the bedside lamp on her side and lay back down. She lay on her side facing the back of Bryce. She finally drifted off to sleep. When she woke up at 4.30 am, she was in Bryce's arms, resting her head on his chest with his arms around her. She stared at his handsome face for a while before pulling away slowly from his arms.

She got ready and left for work.

In the office, she reached out to Don Entertainment and set the meeting for 11 am. Bryce arrived at the company later, and Bernard, Angela, and Evans, together with Bryce, went to meet up with Don.

The meeting was successful, and Don was happy with the proposal; he was ready to give it his best so his industry would start doing well too.

"Now the real work has begun. We need to look at the script, find what is wrong with it and start advertising for roles in the movie. Get the right people involved," Bryce said to Angela, who was sitting next to him in the back seat of his car.

Bernard and Evans sat in Bernard's car.

"Yes, Mr President. I think we can also look at the staff Don Entertainment industry is working with. The failure in the past could also be linked to staff behaviour. We need to ensure the staff are giving their best. This would require an understanding of what they are doing, and we can put down some ground rules," Angela suggested, and Bryce couldn't agree more.

He was not wrong about her when he had her hired. She was smart and could help the company achieve more.

"Very well, get it done," Bryce said, and Angela smiled, shifting her gaze back to her laptop.

Meanwhile, Eva had just received the details on the person they could use to make Angela look bad, so Bryce would get rid of her.

"Our guy is here," Eva said with a smile while staring at Susan across the room, and Susan smiled.
