Chapter 22 Don Entertainment Industry Sponsorship Contract

Chapter 22 Don Entertainment Industry Sponsorship Contract
Bryce was forced to remain awake and occasionally check on Angela till morning. He finally drifted off to sleep at 4 am.
It was 5 a.m. when Angela woke up from sleep and slowly pulled herself out of Bryce's arms. She quickly got ready and dressed up. Bryce was still sleeping when Angela took one last look at him before leaving the bedroom. Bryce was a very handsome man, and keeping the image of his face in her mind, she smiled. She used her new phone to request an Uber to the office.
Angela arrived at the office at 5. 30 am and quickly started with her morning routine. She was done and unaware that Bryce was awake all through the night watching her sleep, so she assumed, per her itinerary, that Bryce would be in the office by 7 am. She sent his coffee to his office and proceeded to her office to work. Inside her office, she found a file on her desk with a note signed by Bryce. She picked up the note and read it.
This is an important contract for the Don Entertainment Industry. We are signing a sponsorship contract for an upcoming movie worth 100 million. We are bearing 50% of the movie production. Prepare the contract and send it to them for signing before 10 am today. Use my stamp to authenticate it. Signed Bryce.
Angela read the note and checked her time. It was a few minutes to 7 am. She had three hours to work on the contract and send it to the industry for signature. She wanted to call Bryce, but kicked against the idea, knowing he would be in the office in a couple of minutes. She quickly got to work and prepared the contract. She spent 2 and a half hours on the contract, working around the clock to have it ready at the stated time. Once done, she went to Bryce's office and realised he was not in. She found the stamp and stamped it. She returned to her office, retrieved her phone and tried calling Bryce what wasn't going through. She dropped the contract in her bag and quickly sent Bryce a message.
Good morning, Mr President. I am heading to the Don Entertainment Industry with the Contract.
She typed, read through and sent it to Bryce. She requested an Uber and was soon out of the company, heading for the industry. She arrived at 9: 45 am and went up to the reception.
"Good afternoon. I am Angela Anderson from Diamond Corporation. I am Mr Bryce Moore's secretary. I am here to see you, CEO," Angela said.
"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked.
"No, please, but I am here because of the sponsorship contract," Angela replied, and the receptionist raised her eyebrow and stared at Angela briefly.
"Diamond Corporation wants to sign the sponsorship contract with our industry?" the receptionist asked.
"Yes, please," Angela replied, wondering why the receptionist would ask such a question.
"Okay," the receptionist said and picked up her phone and brought it to her ears.
"Hello, Sir, there is a lady here from Diamond Corporation with a sponsorship contract. She wishes to see you," the receptionist said.
"Okay," the receptionist said and put the phone back.
"The boss is ready to see you," she said with a smile and showed Angela the way to the boss's office.
"Thank you," Angela appreciated and headed in the direction shown.
She arrived, found the boss's office, and knocked on the door. She entered the office and was offered a seat by the boss, who happened to be a young man. He had pierced both ears and had a dragon tattoo on his neck. He was wearing a small diamond earring which blinked when the light hit it.
"You are?" he began, relaxing in his seat.
"I am Angela Anderson, secretary to Mr Bryce Moore. He sent me here with the sponsorship contract," Angela said.
"Mr Moore sent you here. I see," the man said and smiled.
"I am Don," the man said and smiled. "So give me a summary of the contract. What are you offering?" Don asked.
"I understand the cost of production is a hundred million dollars. We have agreed on offering you 50% of the amount for the production, and we will take the dividend due to us as per the success of the production," Angela said.
"Interesting," Don said and smiled.
"Here is the contract," Angela said and handed the contract to him.
He accepted the contract from Angela's hand, smiling. He looked through and smiled.
"So Mr Moore sent you to bring me this?" Don asked, and Angela was beginning to feel there was something wrong, but answered anyway.
"Yes," Angela replied, a little less enthusiastic about the whole conversation now.
"Okay. Are you aware that once I sign this contract, your company can't pull out of the deal?" Don said and grabbed his pen.
"Yes. I don't think Mr Moore will send me here with a contract only to pull out later," Angela replied.
"I guess you are right. It is just that..." Don said and paused without completing the statement. "Okay, if your company decides to pull out of the contract at any point, the penalty is 50 million as compensation," Don said and opened to the place where he was supposed to sign.
"Understood," Angela said, and Don signed.
"Great. I am just surprised by this move, or Mr Moore," Don said, and a voice came through his phone.
"Sir, you called," Angela's gaze shifted to the direction of the sound.
"Yes, I need you to come to my office now," Don said and ended the call.
"So, Angela Anderson, right?" Don said
"Yes, please," Angela acknowledged, and the door opened.
"Sir," the lady stopped in front of Don's desk.
"I need you to run a copy of this document and bring it to me immediately," Don said, and the lady exited the room with the contract.
"What do you do when you are not working for Diamond Corporation?" Don asked.
"I mostly close at night, so I go home to my family," Angela replied.
"Married or staying with your parents?" Don asked
"Sir, that is a personal, I believe," Angela replied.
"I wanted to invite you out for a program," Don said, but before Angela could react, the lady returned to the office with the document.
"Ah, so you can take this back. I would keep this for future referencing," Don said, and Angela stood to her feet, making him stand to his feet too.
"I would take my leave, Mr Don," Angela said and offered her hand for a handshake.
Don accepted the handshake, and the side of his lips curled up.
Angela left the company, heading to Diamond Corporation. She felt the whole conversation was a little weird. It was like the people didn't know she was coming over and were surprised by the sponsorship contract from Diamond Corporation.
Angela arrived back at Diamond Corporation at 11:30 am. She went straight to her office and dropped her bag. She went to Bryce's office, placed the signed document on Bryce's desk and returned to her office.
She sat behind her desk and began to work on her files. Her phone rang twenty minutes into her work. She answered it.
"Hello," Angela said.
"Angela, come to my office now!" came Bryce's voice, laced with anger.
He ended the call before Angela could even reply. Angela wondered what she had done wrong. She stood up from behind her desk and exited her office. She knocked and entered Bryce's office and found him standing, holding something in his hand.
"Angela, under whose instructions did you prepare a sponsorship contract for Don Entertainment Industry?" Bryce asked through gritted teeth.
"Yours," Angela replied.
"Is this a joke to you?" Bryce asked, and Angela was confused. "Have you seen me in the office today?" he asked, and Angela shook her head no, wondering why Bryce was so angry. "So, how did I instruct you? I am going to ask you again. Under whose instructions did you prepare this stupid contract?" he asked, throwing the contract at Angela's feet.
"I read a note signed by you on my desk this morning with some documents," Angela replied.
"Where is the note?" Bryce asked.
"In my office," Angela replied, trembling.
"Go bring the note I wrote," Bryce said through gritted teeth.
Angela exited the office and returned to her office. She searched everywhere for the note, and it was nowhere to be found. She checked the floor, the bin, and her bag, but the note was not there.
Angela returned to Bryce's office and informed him she couldn't find the note.
"So what prevents you from calling me for confirmation? Did you even read about the Don Entertainment Industry? They produce terrible movies that earn nothing. Every company has pulled away from investing in its production. So why will you offer them 100 million dollars knowing they will not put it to good use? Angela?" Bryce asked. "If we pull out, we are paying a compensation of 50 million dollars. Angela, did you join the company to run it bankrupt?" he asked.
"The sad part is we will be making the headlines tomorrow," he added.
