Chapter 193 Family Reunion - Part 2
Bryce stared at the document and laughed. He didn't even take it from Jay's hand. Jay pulled up his phone and was about to call the police, but five officers entered.
"No need to call, we are already here," the officer leading the officers said.
"Good, this man here is trespassing on private property," Jay reported.
"This is how I know you are fake," Bryce said. "Let me tell you a story," he said.
"When I noticed something about the Davis family wasn't right, I started doing my private investigation. I realised you were onto me. I tasked some people to watch you and report everything you do to me. I knew you were going to attack my home, so I had this fake document prepared and left it there for you to pick up. I spoke with someone at the office and told him that if anyone comes to authenticate this document, they should confirm it's legit. I made you believe I was focusing my energy on your mother and my uncle, but I was watching you. When your mother was sent to prison, I knew you would strike back. I got Martin here involved midway. The company document is also fake. Here are the original documents, and this is what they look like," Bryce said, and Ivan was shocked.
Martin brought out a file from his jacket and showed it to Ivan.
"The original documents have a seal on them. Where is your seal?" Bryce asked.
"You thought you froze my accounts?" Bryce asked. "I just made you believe you are in charge," Bryce continued. "This was a perfect distraction, so we can look into your activities. See," Bryce said, and Martin opened his tablet and showed the screen to Ivan.
There are police officers all over his property. His men have been picked, and so has Eduardo.
"Is this live?" Ivan asked, surprised.
"Oh yes," Bryce replied. "The day I came around with Martin, and you sent your toyboy to poison my wife," he said. " I was not alone. I came with a friend. He helped me bug your entire empire while Martin and I kept you and your men distracted. Even your phone is bugged. Your car has a tracker on it. I knew where you were at all times and what you did and said," he informed him. "Don't worry, all the information is already with the police and will be on channels in five minutes," he added, and Ivan's eyes widened.
"Mr Ivan Davis, you are under arrest for the murder of Mr Elorm and his father, an attempted murder, criminal activities and possession of illegal drugs," the officer said.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, we know where you hide all your good stuff. Including those inside the legs of your chairs," Bryce added.
The officers dragged Ivan, his lawyer, and his guards out of Bryce's apartment.
"Hey Ivan, consider this a family reunion," Bryce said after Ivan, who was being dragged away.
"Let's go put this in order and calm the tension," Bryce said to Martin.
Bryce and Martin left for the hospital; meanwhile, the news about Ivan's arrest and all his criminal activities had already been circulated on social media and all TV channels. Bryce made a post inviting all the employees whose contracts were terminated early in the morning to return.
At the hospital, Bryce went to see the doctor to thank him.
"I just want to show my appreciation for your support in arresting all the criminals," Bryce said, and the doctor smiled.
"I am glad I was able to help, and everything went through. I am truly sorry about your child. Your wife was very lucky; she lost the baby, but her reproductive system is okay. It may take a while, but she has a chance of getting pregnant again. She may require a lot of medical attention should she get pregnant again," the doctor informed Bryce.
"Thank you," Bryce said and left the consulting room to see Angela.
Zora came to visit Bryce and Angela at the hospital. She felt so ashamed for the role she played in aiding the picking up of the documents from Bryce's home.
"I needed you to act normal, and you did. Don't beat yourself up. Just take a lesson from this and be careful in the future," Bryce said after Zora apologised.
"So you didn't have a kidney removed for Angela?" Zora asked curiously.
"No, it was all an act to make Ivan believe I am weak and helpless. Angela was poisoned, alright, but the doctors flushed the poison out of her system. After clearing the poison from her system, she woke up," Bryce explained. "I was prepared for the theatre because I knew Ivan was watching," he added.
"So you knew Elorm was dead?" Zora asked.
"Yes, unfortunately, he partnered with the wrong person. The night he took the document from the apartment and delivered it to Ivan, he shot him and made his men burn him up together with his car, making it look like his car caught fire and he got trapped inside the car. Burnt beyond recognition, but we were watching everything," Bryce replied, and Zora lowered her head.
Martin walked into the hallway and saw Bryce and Zora chatting in front of Angela's ward.
"You two need to patch things up. You hurt him, but he kept his gaze on you to ensure you are safe at all times," Bryce said and entered the ward.
Martin was about to enter the ward when Zora pulled him by the arms.
"Martin, can we talk, please?" Zora pleaded.
"What do you want to say?" Martin asked coldly.
"I was wrong. I stupidly allowed Elorm to exploit me because I thought he was dying. Instead of talking to you, I became defensive. I acted stupidly. Martin, I will not lie about what my heart feels. I felt empty the days you were distant from me," Zora said, and tears quickly filled her eyes. "I never slept with Elorm. I promise," she added, and her voice trembled with tears. "I will understand if you don't want me anymore, but please forgive me," she pleaded, and Martin just stared at her.
He read the sincerity in her eyes.
"I never stopped loving you. I just gave you space to find what you want," Martin said and kissed her.
Zora hugged him and kissed him back with tears streaming down her face. While Martin and Zora patched things up between themselves, inside, Bryce informed Angela about what had happened to Mr and Mrs Anderson. She broke down, hearing that her adoptive parents were also dead.
"Don't worry. Those who did that to them are now in prison," Bryce said and hugged Angela, rubbing her back gently.
News of the chief of police's arrest for his involvement in framing Angela for a crime she didn't commit soon went viral on all social media platforms.
A couple of weeks went by, and Angela was discharged from the hospital. Bryce and Angela had a grand wedding, and Martin and Zora got married a week after.
The two ladies started working at PEG Industries, and the company was doing so well. They got a lot of project deals and partnered with a lot of companies.
It was a weekend, and Martin, Bryce, Angela and Zora sat around the table having breakfast.
"So, Angela, what do you think of my party idea? We need to celebrate the company's achievement," Zora said, and before Angela could reply, her hand flew to her mouth, and she stood up from behind the dining table.
She runs out of the dining area towards the washroom.
"Angela, are you?" Zora tried to find out what was wrong with Angela when she also felt nauseous.
Her hand quickly flew to her mouth, she also stood up from behind the dining table and hurried her steps in the same direction Angela had. The two men frowned, wondering what was wrong with the ladies, but Martin's frown turned into a smile.
"They are pregnant," Martin announced and stood up from behind the table.
"Really? HR manager and assistant?" Bryce questioned and followed Martin to see Angela.
Inside the washroom, after Zora and Angela had vanished, emptying their guts, they were discussing what they both ate to make them react that way.
"They are all normal dishes. Or is it tiredness?" Zora asked, and Angela was about to react, but paused.
"When was your last menses?" Angela asked Zora, and her eyes widened.
"Could it be that we are both," Zora said, and Martin and Bryce walked in.
"Pregnant," the men said in unison.
"We will have a problem when it is time to take maternity leave," Angela said, and Bryce hugged her while Martin hugged Zora.
"We'll figure something out when we get there," Bryce said, and they both smiled, filled with joy.
