Chapter 170 We Have Enough to Make Move
Martin withdrew from the hug with his eyes still fixated on the lightbulb. Zora naturally started looking up at the ceiling, wondering what Martin was looking at with a frown on his face.
"What is it?" Zora asked, seeing Martin had stood up and walked away from the bed, still staring at the ceiling. Martin, what are you looking at?" she asked, alternating her gaze between silent Martin and the ceiling.
"Please get me the chair?" Martin said, and Zora just obeyed.
She pulled the chair from behind the desk in her room and brought it to Martin. Martin was now standing in the middle of the room, still staring at the bulb. Zora watched him climb onto the chair and reach for the lightbulb. Zora stood there and watched Martin remove the lightbulb from its holder. She also noticed the strange black thing inside the lightbulb and frowned.
Once Martin had gotten down from the chair and stared at the lightbulb in his hand, Zora asked, "What is that?"
"I am not sure," Martin said, examining the bulb with Zora looking on.
The black thing appeared to have come with the bulb. Because there was no opening around the lightbulb, Martin broke it, and Zora widened her eyes. She had two lights diagonally positioned in the room, and now Martin had broken one.
Martin examined the black thing, which looked like broken pieces of metal. He frowned, wondering why a lightbulb would have some broken pieces of metal inside it. The strange thing about the metal too, is that it looked burnt.
"What is it?" Zora asked, also surprised by what was inside the lightbulb.
"I am still unsure," Martin replied after examining the broken metal pieces.
He raised his head to check the other lightbulb, and that one didn't have anything like that inside it.
"Should we be worried?" Zora asked, already feeling something wasn't right.
"Relax. I am sure it's nothing," Martin calmed her.
"You scared me," Zora said, and Martin smiled.
"I am sorry," Martin apologised and pecked her lips. "Okay. I need to go see Mr Moore, maybe you should go keep Ms Angela company," he said, and Zora smiled.
"Okay," Zora replied and picked up Martin's shirt for him.
She helped Martin slip back into his shirt. She stood in front of him and helped him button the shirt and grabbed his jacket for him. The two exited the bedroom and walked down the hallway towards Bryce and Angela's room.
Back in Bryce and Angela's room, the two were lying on their back next to each other on the bed, still chatting and giggling.
"Well, on a more serious note. What do you think about having the wedding this weekend? You don't want anything grand, right?" Bryce asked.
"It's just going to be us," Angela said.
"Yes, and I would invite a few well-wishers from the company. Tomorrow I will be going there," Bryce said.
"Sounds like a plan," Angela said, and Bryce turned to lie on his side, supporting his head with his hand.
Angela smiled, staring at him, looking down at her.
"You are going to be my wife again, and I promise I am not letting you go again. I will protect you with my life," Bryce promised and kissed her.
Their romantic moment was interrupted by a knock on the door.
"This guy doesn't appreciate holidays, do you know that?" Bryce said to Angela, and she giggled.
"Just go check what he wants," Angela said, and Bryce just shook his head.
He got down from the bed and invited Martin in, knowing he was the one behind the door.
"Speak of the devil?" Bryce said as soon as Martin entered.
Martin's eyes went straight to the lightbulb in Bryce's room, and he noticed the black thing was in one of the bulbs. Bryce followed Martin's line of gaze, wondering what he was staring at on the ceiling.
"Sir, can I check the lightbulb?" Martin asked, and Bryce frowned.
"What is wrong with ......" Bryce asked and stared at the two lightbulbs in the room, but before he could complete his statement, he noticed one of the lightbulbs had something dark visible on the side, as if there was something inside the bulb.
"Yes, go ahead," Bryce said, staring at the lightbulb.
Angela sat on the bed, also staring at the lightbulb, wondering what was going on. Just then, Zora walked in and realised Martin was pulling the chair inside Bryce's room towards the middle of the room.
"There is one here, too?" Zora asked, staring at the ceiling, drawing Bryce and Angela's attention to her
"There is what here, too?" Bryce asked with a frown.
"There were some broken pieces of metal which looked burnt inside one of the bulbs in my room," Zora replied.
"Broken metals?" Angela repeated, surprised and began staring at the ceiling.
Martin removed the bulb and got down from the chair. Just like the one in Zora's room, the bulb was completely sealed. He eventually broke it, and what was inside were broken pieces of metal.
"Let me see," Bryce requested and picked the metals and studied them carefully. "Martin, check all the other rooms, call the guards to help out," he ordered, and Martin left immediately to carry out Bryce's orders.
"What is it?" Angela asked, and Zora followed Martin out of the room.
"If these things are in all the bulbs of this apartment, I would need to have a conversation with the person who sold this apartment to me," Bryce said.
"Is it an electrical issue?" Angela asked.
"Could be," Bryce said, staring at the metals in his hand, not sure what they were. "I don't know," he said. "Let me see what they found out," he said and exited the room, but Angela got down from the bed and followed him out.
At the location where the man was watching them on the screen. He slammed his hand on the table and groaned. He picked up a small device that looked like a walkie-talkie with a deep frown. He turned it on and pressed a button. Once he did that, he just watched his screen, and one after the other, the footage went off until his screen was dark.
"Fvck!" he cursed and picked up his phone.
"Boss, I had to crush all the cameras planted in the apartment. The nosey loyal bodyguard found one of the cameras, and he is now checking everywhere," he said. "Don't worry, we have enough to make a move," he added. "They are currently relaxed, planning weddings, being lovey-dovey and focusing on rebranding Diamond Corporation, he informed his boss. "Yes, boss, tomorrow, I will send the guy to meet up with Mr Don. He would be ready by then," he said, holding the phone to his ears. "No, I am sure they don't know what it is. Even if they do, it's going to be a wild goose chase searching for who might have done it," he said.
He relaxed in his seat and rocked his body in the chair.
"Yes, boss," he said. "I will work on everything this week. Everything would be set for a meet and greet two weeks from now," he added.
"Yes, boss. I would work on it," he said and ended the call.
He dialled another number and waited for the call to connect.
"Elorm, get ready, you will move in," he said. "You wanted to avenge your father, right? Now is the time. You have a chance now to deal with Zora. You know what to do," he said and ended the call.
"Bryce Moore, you will regret staying alive. You should have died peacefully and saved Angela and your child, but now, you will die with all of them," he said and smiled. "Or perhaps, your father should have kept his nosey nose out of everyone's business. Now you will pay the price of your sin and that of your father," he added and smiled.
