Chapter 168 Love in the Air
The next day, as announced, Bryce, Angela, Zora and Martin left the two-bedroom apartment for their new apartment. Bryce had purchased a mansion not far away from the company. It was a building with a rooftop relaxation view, two floors, a garage and a basement. Martin rented Bryce's old home inside the estate to a new couple and paid all the workers and guards, sending them away. They were still going to manage the estate, but Bryce wanted to be close to the company.
For the new apartment, he interviewed a new set of servants and guards. He wanted a clean start. The servants helped move the luggage to the various rooms. The guards and servants occupied the first floor, and Bryce and his family were on the second floor. There was a gym inside the mansion, and the second floor had six bedrooms. Each with its toilet and bath. The living room was very big and neatly decorated. There was a balcony, and from the balcony, you can go to the rooftop. All six bedrooms were above the living room, making it look like a floor on its own. The kitchen, storage room and dining area were extra rooms on the same floor as the living room. The laundry machines were in the basement, and the basement opens into a beautiful backyard where washed clothes can be dried out in the sun if they want to. In the same basement are the ironing boards and drying machines. Bryce bought an additional Range Rover, making the cars two in the new home.
"This place is very spacious," Angela said, sitting on the king-size bed and staring at Bryce, who was standing next to the desk holding his laptop.
"Yes, it is. I also like the fact that it's not far away from the company. When the time comes, and you have to stay home, I will not be miles away from the company," Bryce said and placed his laptop on the desk inside their room.
"Do you like the house?" Bryce asked.
"It's big and nice. I love it as long as it's providing shelter for the family I have now," Angela replied, and Bryce smiled.
He walked up to her and joined her on the bed. He held both of her hands in his and smiled.
"I had married you out of the blue on that day because you were my first. It was a vow I made to myself that the first woman whose nakedness I would see, I would marry. I brought you to my home, knowing the only reason I had married you was because we slept together. I had no feelings for you. I didn't know when or how I fell in love with you. It all started like taking care of a desire, but I realised you meant more to me than taking care of my desires. The day you left, I felt empty. I wanted you back, even though I was still not sure what my feelings were towards you. Was it love or just a sexual desire because I love your body," Bryce said, and Angela lowered her head shyly, hearing him say he loved her body.
"I just married you because of a vow I made to myself. I was ready to condemn myself to a married life with no connection, but the unexpected happened. I fell in love with you. I love you, Angela. I don't want a future where you are not by my side," he said and slipped his hand into his pocket.
He got up from the bed and went down on one knee.
"Angela, would you marry me?" Bryce asked, holding out a ring to her.
Angela stared at the beautiful gold ring with a diamond stone and smiled, covering both hands with her mouth. Bryce stared at her, getting all emotional.
"Yes," Angela replied, with a tear falling from her eyes, even though she was smiling.
Bryce slipped the ring onto her finger and stood up, pulling her up with him. He placed Angela's hand on his shoulders and slipped his hand to her waist, pulling her closer to himself. He lowered his head and passionately kissed her.
"What kind of a wedding would you like? I am here to fulfil anything you want," Bryce asked after pulling away from the kiss.
"A simple court wedding is fine with me. You are still a public figure. I don't want to be trending on social media platforms," Angela said.
"I love you, Angela," Bryce said, smiling at how simple she was.
"I love you too," Angela said, stood on her toes and planted a kiss on Bryce's lips, making him smile.
While Bryce and Angela expressed their love towards each other in a way they had never done before, Martin and Zora were taking a tour of the house. They walked into the bedroom Zora had chosen, and the servants quickly put her stuff in there and left the place while Zora looked around. Martin stood in the middle of the room with his hand shoved into his pocket, watching Zora check the room. She returned to the bedroom, and Martin decided to engage her in a conversation which was not about the house.
"So you have a boyfriend?" Martin asked Zora, making her turn to stare at him briefly.
"There was someone I liked, or so I think, but since I was moved to the Davis family home, he seemed to have cut ties with me. His number won't go through," Zora said, and Martin could feel the hurt in her voice when she spoke.
"Do you want me to look for him for you?" Martin asked, feeling unhappy, Zora, you sound sad.
"No, no need," Zora said and composed herself. "I already did, and I know he is fine. I guess he doesn't want to talk to me again. I decided to let things be and not ask why," she added, and Martin pulled her in for a hug.
"You loved him?" Martin asked, hugging Zora, and Zora held her pain back even though she was on the verge of breaking down because of Elorm.
"I don't know. He was good company, and I like being around him," Zora said.
"I am sorry, Zora," Martin said while hugging her. "You are a very beautiful girl and a nice person. The one who can't see that and appreciate your company, well, that is their loss," he said, and Zora pulled away from the hug.
She stared at Martin briefly and kissed him on the lips unexpectedly. Martin was not expecting that kiss, but standing alone with her in the room Zora had chosen as her bedroom, he yielded and responded to the kiss. In the middle of the kiss, Zora pulled away and took a step back away from Martin.
"I am sorry," Zora said, lowering her head shyly, wondering what was wrong with her.
Was she missing Elorm so much that she was now making Martin a substitute?
"Hey, it's okay," Martin said, trying to ease the embarrassment Zora was feeling. "I like you, and think about you a lot lately," he said, and Zora lifted her head to meet his gaze.
"Yes," Martin said, like she knew Zora asked a question. "I didn't say anything because I thought a beautiful girl like you might already have someone," he added.
"Would you be my girlfriend? Would you go out with me?" Martin asked boldly, and Zora smiled.
"Yes," Zora replied, and Martin drew closer.
Zora lowered her head shyly when Martin drew closer to her, closing the gap between them. He lifted her head and kissed her lips. Zora allowed him to kiss her, enjoying every bit of it.
"I would move at your pace. If you want us to get married tomorrow, I am happy to," Martin whispered in Zora's ear.
"Really? You like me that much?" Zora asked, surprised.
"I fell in love with you the first time I saw you," Martin confessed.
"Truth be told, I also felt something the first time I saw you. I was kind of happy Elorm blocked my number, but then I was not sure if you were free and would like me," Zora said, and Martin smiled.
He scooped her into his arms and kissed her.
Back at another location, an apartment not far away from Bryce's new apartment, the man was still watching Bryce and Angela in a room, kissing and now Zora and Martin in another room, also kissing. The servants and guards were just going about their duties. He pulled up his phone and dialled a number after checking all the cameras, and they were working.
"The new apartment was successfully bugged with the help of the seller's son," the man said on the call. "Don't worry, he is a drug addict. I overdosed him with his drugs and ensured he was dead before leaving his apartment," he said. "His father is a busy man, and his mother is out of the country. They would find him dead later, maybe in a week, and also find out he was a drug addict," he said. "Everything is under control. I am still watching them. There seems to be some love in the air. They are getting busy and comfortable with themselves in the new apartment," he said.
"Yes, boss. I will await your instructions and when to start," he said and ended the call.
He shifted his gaze back to the screen, and Bryce was sitting on the bed chatting with Angela while Martin and Zora were now on the balcony with Martin hugging Zora from behind as they both enjoyed the view.
