Chapter 152 You Are My Life
"911, what is your emergency?" came the voice of the lady, and Zora stared briefly at Angela, who was still bent over Bryce's body, trying to wake him.
"No, no, no, don't do this to me, Bryce. Wake up. I didn't mean any of the things I said," Angela cried, shaking Bryce's body.
"Erm, we are at the club, and someone just passed out," Zora said on the call.
"Where exactly is your location?" came the lady's voice.
Zora gave the details to the lady on the call.
"Keep calm, help is on the way," the lady said.
Outside, a couple of minutes passed, and an ambulance siren was heard in the area. The guard was still in the car, watching the club from across the street.
"Okay, now we have an ambulance driving in," the guard reported.
"Go in there and find out what is happening," George instructed.
"Yes, sir," the guard acknowledged and exited the car.
He checked for oncoming vehicles before crossing the road using the pedestrian crosswalk. He walked towards the club. He checked the area and saw the ambulance going to the back of the building. He looked around and followed the ambulance to the back.
The paramedics came out of the ambulance, used the back exit into the club and soon arrived on the floor where Bryce had passed out. Bryce was lying on the floor with Angela bent over on her knees over him, while Zora stood on the side, looking very worried.
"Make way," shouted one of the men, and Zora's gaze shifted in the direction of the voice.
Seeing that it was the paramedics, she held Angela, pulling her away from Bryce so they could attend to him.
"He was walking away holding his chest, and the next thing, he fell on the floor. Before that, he was asking my friend for forgiveness," Zora said to the paramedics without being asked.
"Okay," said one of the men with the team as they set up to attend to Bryce.
Angela hugged Zora in tears as the paramedics attended to Bryce. In a couple of minutes, Bryce opened his eyes.
"What happened?" Bryce asked, his voice sounding hoarse.
"You passed out, sir," the man said to Bryce. "I advised you to lie down while we attended to you," he added, and Angela turned to look at Bryce after hearing his voice.
"Bryce," Angela called out, staring at him.
She moved away from Zora and got closer, but paramedics would not let her near Bryce.
"I am fine. I want her," Bryce said, seeing they were preventing Angela from coming close to him.
They made way for Angela after hearing Bryce's request. Angela went down on her knees and held Bryce's hand as she stared at his face. Bryce was lying on a stretcher which was just 30 cm above the ground.
"I am sorry," Bryce said, trying to sit up.
Angela put her hand on his chest, making him lie back down. "
I am sorry, Angela. Forgive me," Bryce begged.
"It's okay. I don't want to lose you," Angela said, sniffling and wiping her tears away while staring at Bryce's face.
She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Bryce kissed her back, and Zora just stood there watching the two with a smile plastered on her face. She was glad and hoped this would put them together. She knew Angela still loved Bryce, and after hearing both sides, it was a case of misunderstanding.
"You deserve some happiness, dear friend," Zora thought, smiling.
"Ma'am, we have to take him away," one of the men said, and Angela pulled away from the kiss.
"I am fine. I don't want to go anywhere," Bryce said unhappily as he pulled Angela away from him.
"Sir," the man began, but Bryce interrupted.
"I am the patient, and I am awake. I don't want to go anywhere. I just want to stay with her," Bryce insisted.
"Alright, everything seems fine," one of the men said. "I would advise you to pass by the hospital to make sure everything is fine," he added, and Bryce responded with a hmmm.
Bryce stood up from the stretcher and rested his arms around Angela's shoulder. The two walked towards his room inside the club.
"I will be downstairs," Zora said and headed back the same way she had come in with Angela.
The paramedics packed their stuff and also headed back in the direction they had come in.
Outside, the guard found a place to hide so he could see what was going on. He watched as the paramedics walked out of the building carrying no one. They got into the ambulance and left the place.
"Hmmm, what happened in there? Why did the paramedics leave empty-handed?" the guard thought and entered the building using the back exit, which was still open.
Inside, Bryce and Angela ended up in the familiar room. Angela remembered the room. It was the place where her journey with Bryce started.
"Angela, I am truly sorry for everything I did to you. I allowed my emotions to get the better of me and believed what I saw instead of digging further. I believed in the lies instead of believing you, the woman I knew and had come to love. Please forgive me," Bryce apologised, standing in front of Angela in the middle of the room. "You are my life. I need you," he added, cupping the side of her cheeks and rubbing them gently.
"I am not innocent either. I also believed what I wanted and left you instead of talking to you. I left the hospital because I believed the murderer of my parents was connected to your family. Even though I knew it wasn't you, I still left," Angela said, staring into his eyes.
"I understand," Bryce said, lowered his head and planted a light kiss on her lips.
Angela thought she hated Bryce for abandoning her at the time she needed him most, but she realised immediately how deeply she loved him when she thought he was dying.
"Get some rest, you don't look too good," Angela said when Bryce lifted his head, and she helped him to the bed.
Bryce lay down, and Angela helped him change into something comfortable. It was easy for Angela to help Bryce change since he had shorts worn under his trousers, but still, Angela could not help admiring Bryce's body while at it.
"You will stay here with me, right?" Bryce asked, lying on the bed with Angela sitting next to him with her back resting on the bed headboard.
"I didn't bring anything I can change into," Angela raised.
"I have a lot of T-shirts in that closet," Bryce suggested.
"Okay," Angela said and got down from the bed.
She opened the closet and grabbed herself a T-shirt. She went into the bathroom and returned wearing the T-shirt. Bryce stared at her, admiring her long, beautiful legs sticking out from beneath the hem of the T-shirt. She climbed into bed and lay down next to him. Bryce wrapped his arms around her and planted a kiss on the top of her head.
"I need to tell Zora, I am staying here with you," Angela said.
"She can stay here too. There is another room on this floor," Bryce said and quickly called Martin.
"Thank you," Angela said.
"I know how important she is to you. It's late, and it would be best if she stayed here," Bryce said.
"Hello, sir," came Martin's voice.
"Martin, have the second room prepared for Zora. We are at the club," Bryce said.
"Yes, sir," Martin acknowledged, and the call ended.
Back at the Davis family house, George went to see Matilda about the new development.
"Okay, Angela and Zora left the apartment for the club. The information I had about the club is that it belongs to Bryce Moore. Bryce is equally not in his room. I am sure they are together," George reported.
"It's good. They need to patch things up. This way, our plan would work perfectly," Matilda said, smiling.
At Moore's family home, Devon was sitting in his office with Susan.
"I gave the documents to Bryce. I am sure he has tasked Martin to look into it," Susan reported.
"Good, we will have results soon. Get the documents ready. Once everything pulls through, I will make him sign off on everything to me. Everything would be ours," Devon said, and Susan giggled.
