The sound of snoring around me jolted me awake. My ability appears to have resurfaced. I was annoyed by their snores since they were excessively loud. My body continues to ache, even though the discomfort has diminished in comparison to before. I was finally able to breathe normally. I flinched when memories popped into my head out of nowhere, and the worst part is that the memory that just emerged in my head was the one that had previously caused me grief. It was after he touched my injuries that I passed out. My huge bruises began to hurt all of a sudden. I clenched my teeth and struggled to keep my balance. Apart from feeling sick and weak, I can't do anything dumb right now because I'm not at home to do what I want.
My eyes gradually opened. It was typical for me to squint as my vision adjusted to the surroundings. When I observed two women sleeping at the foot of my bed and two males gaping while sleeping on the wide sofa, I frowned and rolled my eyes. It appears that the man who was holding my injury before has disappeared; there is no evidence of him. My extrasensory perception also appears to be asleep. I believe the men's snores were simply too loud. I let out a sigh and rolled my eyes. They appear exhausted, as if they've just returned from a war and need to relax. I tried to shift and get out of my sleeping posture, but my body was too stiff to do so. It would have been my chance to flee.
When one of the ladies moved and I gasped in worry. Her eyes dilated when she saw my state. When our gazes locked, my heart pounded loudly. Oh my goodness, she's a goddess. Her beautiful golden hair completes her look, and she appears to be a celebrity. Her fascinating eyes are flawless, and if I were born a guy, I'd fall in love with her right away. I guess aristocracy are born beautiful. The lady gave me a friendly smile.
"Oh, hello," she said. It appears that I have disrupted her restful sleep. When I tried to get up, she seemed startled.
"What is it Coreen? What?" a woman with short hair followed closely behind, looking concerned as she turned around, "Oh, hi!" she welcomed hurriedly, seeming surprised at my state.
They undoubtedly expected me to remain motionless due to my injury and state, but here I am, lying on my side as if nothing had happened. I'm hurt, but I'm not going to show it. I'm the kind of person that never shows weakness to others. I grew up being self-sufficient, I'm meant to be tough, and I refuse to give up even in the face of death. To me, this is insignificant... perhaps.
"How are you?" Coreen inquired, and it was only then that I noticed the perfection of her eyes. I used to be fascinated by her face, but now I'm fascinated by her entire person. Her long, straight blonde hair complemented her heart-shaped face perfectly. Her heart-shaped face has caught my attention, and her lips are cupid, utterly lovely. She is indeed stunning.
"I'm sure she's not feeling well, Coreen, would you be okay if a snake swallowed you?" teased the short-haired female. She was also stunning, like a furious goddess from Mt. Olympus. Her short, black hair complemented her demeanor. It gave her a rough and independent appearance. Is there anything in this Palace that is ugly? Perhaps it's the system.
Coreen rolled her eyes, "Oh shut up, Nathalia."
"Wait, I'll heal your wound again," the short-haired woman who appeared to be Nathalia murmured as she approached my broken arm. I flinched when she gripped my arm because I was in excruciating pain. It aches so badly, and I know I turned pale at that point due to the excruciating pain. The ladies simply stared at me blankly. Why does it appear that they're staring at something that isn't even painful? Had they been through anything more traumatic? Whatever it is, I don't deserve their stare as if I'm being unreasonable. I'm in a lot of discomfort.
"Don't move, this won't hurt right now; it'll be all right in a few minutes," Nathalia remarked, pointing her palm at my wound.
My eyes widened as I noticed her hands emitting white light. It was truly magical, because when she covered my arm with her luminous palm, a surge of comfort swept through my entire body. I was too blinded to notice, but they appear to be used to it because they show no signs of affection.
What exactly is she up to?
I don't understand anymore, I think I'm going crazy, I just wanted to laugh alone. I know I'm not the only one with strange abilities, but this is already too much for me. Unfortunate events have been happening to me lately since we made a mistake in the second district. I was apprehended and became disoriented in the palace. I was drawn into the labyrinth without knowing what was going on there. I was attacked by a lion, swallowed by a terrifying serpent, and forced to slay it. I passed out, and when I awoke, I passed out again because someone dared to touch my injuries. Now I'm sitting here, watching a lovely girl shine light on my injuries, as if she's healing me. I'm going to go completely insane. Otherwise, I'll go insane.
Coreen compliments Nathalia as she heals my arm, saying, "You're a better mender sorcerer now." So Nathalia is a mender sorceress, and she's currently mending me. Gosh, it's obvious.
Coreen rolled her eyes as Nathalia answered, "Thanks bamboozle witch!" After that, the glow in her hand vanished. And when my wound gradually healed, I almost fainted again from dread. Its discomfort was also lessened.
Gosh!
Coreen was taken aback by Nathalia's statements and retorted, "Whatever you ass."
Nathalia just laughed and stared at me. "I know you have a lot of questions, but I'll start with who you are," she said plainly.
For a brief minute, I was speechless since I had no idea what to say. I was a thief stranded in the second district, imprisoned in the palace, toyed with in the dark forest inside a Maze, and now being treated by an unfathomable woman. Should I instead say those?
"I-- don't know," I say instead.
Nathalia asked, blinking and smiling, "You... don't know?"
My response was much less than satisfactory.
"Well, I'm not going to roam around any longer; we're the team that'll seek for the Precious Stones, and I'm Corinthians. Corin, in short," the blonde woman says.
Oh! I assumed she was Coreen, but I was mistaken. Corin, not Coreen, by the way. Is this a problem for me as well? I'm making a huge deal out of nothing.
"And this girl beside me is Nathalia, our doctor, and she clearly looks like a witch—!"
"Oh shut up you weirdo!" Nathalia quickly stopped Corin.
"Well, whatever!" Corin laughed as he turned to the two snoring men. "That man with an eagle tattoo on his neck is Greyson, call him Gray. Be careful of that one, he's one of those stupid men who's flirtatious," Corin said, referring to the man hugging the other man. When I first saw him, he was cuddling the man with the ax, the man whose hands were emitting smokes! "And that man is Chrysler," Corin continued. "The name Chrys sounds feminine, but he's a straight man. Call him gay, I'm not sure what he'd do to you. He's also stupid."
I laughed at the moments where she presented her pals, since she seemed to have a grudge against them and ended up with more attitudes.
"Now, who are you, laughing beasty?" she inquires. I remained silent. I'm not sure how to respond. They simply let me go with a raised eyebrow.
"OK? No response? Oh, okay," Nathalia murmured, reclining back in her seat slightly.
I shook my head in response to Corin's interested remark, "I think I heard someone name you Verliya? Am I right? Verliya, or Verilia?" She sighed, her face indicating that she, too, was becoming bored. So, how should I approach this? I have a knack for annoying people.
"So, what's your name?" Corin asked.
I didn't respond.
"Fudge, I'll just sleep, it's lovely to sleep," Nathalia replied, falling asleep at my feet once more. She probably knows they won't gain anything from me, so rather than waste her time, she'd probably just sleep to prepare for tomorrow or the search.
"You're a nonsense talkshit. Goodnight baby," Corin muttered, before falling asleep again. I couldn't help but smile at the way they spoke. I feel like I should be enraged since they're so casual. But here I am, grinning like a fool because I was treated as if I were on the same level as them. And I couldn't care less how people behave or speak to me; I'm simply thrilled they named me that.
"Hello, darling," I said to Greyson, the man with the eagle tattoo on his neck who, according to Corinthians, is a flirt. That appears to be the case. He has piercings, and he certainly appears to be a bad kid. A better definition of a playboy. He smiled and arched his left brow, then glanced at me from head to toe, eventually coming to a halt as his gaze fell on my legs.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. I imagine there are still some obnoxious idiots wandering around the palace. As I became aware, I looked at myself as well. Then I noticed that my clothes had been changed. Who the hell changed my clothes? Now I'm dressed in a loose short and a white shirt. Because the cut on my knee and foot is already wrapped, it appears that it was meticulously placed on me. Did they look after me in addition to being treated?
Greyson responded, "Hi sexy, I mean yes baby, hi sexy..." before turning away from Chrysler and addressing me.
I didn't say anything or even grin.
He sulked and pouted, "You're so cruel."
"What?" says Chrysler, who seemed to have awoken as well. He turned to face me as soon as he awoke after asking. As he regarded me, his brow furrowed. His dark eyes complemented his very black and long cropped hair. Both males have prominent noses, are extremely attractive, and stand tall due to their long legs.
"Is she memorizing us?" Greyson asked Chrysler in a whisper. Did he think I wouldn't hear him? I rolled my eyes.
Instead, Chrysler inquired, "How are you feeling?" And, as is customary, I did not respond. My saliva is so sour that I won't respond because I'm still unsure what's going on. I require illumination. Otherwise, my brain will give up and I will not only not recover, but I will also go insane.
"Aww, you didn't answer my question, Chrys; are you like that to me?" Greyson seemed insulted. Because of what Greyson is doing to him, I want to chuckle at Chrysler's reaction.
"Stay away from me, you're insane!" Chrysler exclaimed, standing up to leave Greyson, who was relieved to be alone on the sofa.
Chrysler approached me and examined my wounds, exclaiming, "You're impossible," as he studied my wounds. Perhaps because of Nathalia's treatment of me, it recovers swiftly.
"I know we're impossible, but she's damn witchy impossible," Nathalia said as she stood up and looked over my body.
As Greyson approached, Corinthians followed suit.
Greyson advised, "We'd better keep her away from the Prince."
"We best keep her away from him before she passes out again..." Nathalia continued as the others nodded in agreement.
My brow was furrowed. What is the Prince's problem? And why are they reacting this way?
To my amazement, Chrysler responded, "... and make her f*cking sleep for fucking 24 hours."
I what? I slept? For an entire f*cking day?
