The Ashthorn Gang was no small gang.
With over a thousand members spread across the entirety of the Anker district if they claimed to be the second strongest gang no other gang would dare claim to be first!
While other gangs with even more members had risen over the years they were still the undisputed overlords of the Anker grey area!
Considering their impressive rise shrouded in mystery it was only natural that rumours began to spread.
One of them was that the boss of the gang was actually the son of Jade Dharma’s Capone, one of the three mafia bosses in Detroit hence why they held the top position all these years without any opponents.
Others said the gang was actually a smokescreen the city authorities used to control this part of Detroit's underworld.
The rumours were as many as the stars yet one thing remained true in all of them.
They were powerful and ruthless and no ordinary person dared to go against them at least without sufficient backing.
Well except for one person!
Sneaking a peek at Angelina's figure, Kirk couldn't help but wonder how a woman could be so brave to dare what many men couldn't even start thinking about. Despite him warning her about the dangers associated with infiltrating the Ashthorn headquarters, she only asked him to take her there.
Wait not ask—she commanded him!
There was not the slightest bit of fear emanating from her.
He on the other hand was already drowning in his own sweat despite the chilly weather!
It was one thing to rat out his previous gang but taking someone to their doorstep?

If they knew he was leading someone over his head would be hung up on a stake!
At the end of the day the demon beside him was far scarier so he had no choice but to do it anyway.
Along the way, the two rarely spoke. Kirk because he was not used to conversing with others thanks to his introvertedness, although he was sneaking glances at Angelina every few seconds.
And Angelina well…she was thinking about stuff.
She was currently focused on her phone looking at the latest update Tonia had just sent her.
Tonia: This is the only thing I can find about the Ashthorn gang and their leader hope it helps.
After Tonia linked the clues in Fleming's diary with Kirk, she began to find everything she could about the Ashthorn gang.
It had taken a while but eventually she had delivered as promised.
“Thanks!”
Replying, Angelina glanced at Kirk who was coincidentally staring at her, winking at him a smile blossomed on her face when she saw him look away in a hurry as if he would be punished for staring at her.
While she didn't say anything, the message was clear.
Don't try anything funny!
Going through the information Tonia sent, Angelina found out that Kirk really spoke the truth. Everything he told her about his ex gang matched the stuff she was looking at.
Despite following him to the assumed headquarters she definitely had her guards up to the highest possible level. Who knows he might be pretending to be a pig just to attack as a tiger!
Thankfully, he had been vindicated.
Plus there was even additional information about the Ashthorn boss!
This was something even the police didn't have, only the CIA or FBI could have it yet somehow Tonia managed to get it.
“She didn't hack the CIA right?” The thought only lingered for a moment before she focused on the main stuff, less than a second later her eyes went wide.
Despite the darkness and poor visibility due to the rain the whites of her eyes still shone through!
“This has to be a joke." Exclaiming so loudly that Kirk thought he had been caught peeking at her again Angelina struggled to believe what she had just read.
Ashthorn gang's boss was actually a woman!
Furthermore, her origin was unknown it was like she had just popped up one day and the gang came with her naturally. She was known as the Ashen Rose coined from her position in the Ashthorn gang since no one really knew her real name.
According to the documents the gang had existed long ago but they were a bunch of nobodies, however her appearance changed the gang into what they were today so fast even the authorities were still in disbelief.
Plus, her affiliations weren't clear as she had dealings with the various mafia gangs despite being in the Jade Dharma territory adding another layer of mystery to her.
“Interesting.”
A gleam flashed through Angelina's eyes as she read through the files. The achievements of the gang under her was praiseworthy to be honest. The amount of times the authorities had tried to apprehend her yet failed miserably made her realise—this woman was super dangerous.
Thankfully she was only here to search for clues.
“Were here.”
Right then Kirk who had been quiet all along spoke up causing her to stop. At the same time she looked up only to see nothing. Staring across the road to the other side her face gradually clouded with confusion at the huge pink neon signboard across the road.
“This is your headquarters?” Wondering if they had missed their way she asked him.

“Yeah, this is the place.”
Nodding, Kirk watched as her face turned flush a bit. Naturally, anyone who knew how strong the gang was would find it hard too.
The gangs headquarters was a love house!
Fearing that she might tase him with the weird look she gave him he quickly explained himself.
“Actually the first time I learnt it too I was just as surprised. However, it's just a method of hiding from the public eye. The real headquaters is below ground."
Pointing at the ground beneath their feet he explained.
Hearing this Angelina nodded in understanding. It made sense actually.
For a gang whose reputation was so huge having their headquarters hidden under the guise of a normal establishment made sense since no one would actually expect that to be their hideout.
Plus the brothel was a legally run establishment thus even the authorities turned a blind eye to it as long as they operated w
ithin the allowed boundaries.
The best way to avoid being discovered was naturally to hide in plain sight
