Chapter 40
Diana had been observing a vigilant watch over Luka's bedside for days, the worry and concern carved into her features.
The sight of her friend in a battered and unconscious state had been a constant source of anxiety. But today, something had changed.
As she sat there by Luka's bedside, her hand gently holding Luka's, and suddenly, a faint movement in his fingers caught her eye.
Her heart leaped with hope as she watched Luka's hand twinge ever so slightly. Just like it happened the previous day, it was a small sign, but it filled her with a sense of relief and positiveness.
The previous day, Logan had left and she was the only one to experience the movement. But today, Logan was present.
"Logan! Logan!" Diana exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement as she turned to face him. "Did you see that? Luka's hand moved!"
Logan, who had been standing nearby, quickly approached them, with his eyes fixed on Luka's unconscious form.
He examined Luka's hand and nodded, a small smile played at the corner of his lips. "Yes Diana, I saw it. It is a positive sign. Luka is fighting to wake up. I told you he is strong."
Diana's eyes shone with gratitude as she looked at Logan. She had been through a turbulent journey with Luka, and the fear of losing him had been almost unbearable.
Logan's presence and support had been a source of comfort during these trying times.
As Logan continued to watch Luka, he began to share his own story, hoping to offer Diana some reassurance. "You know, Diana, there was a time when I faced a similar situation with Luka. He was injured, just like this, and he managed to heal himself."
Diana's attention was immediately caught, and she leaned in closer, eager to hear Logan's story. "Tell me more, Logan. How did he manage to heal himself?"
Logan began to give an account of the tale, his voice was filled with conviction. "We were on a mission, and Luka suffered severe injuries. It was touch and go for a while, but somehow, he found the inner strength to heal himself. It was like a surge of power, and he fought all chances to recover."
Diana listened with rapt attention, her heart filled with a mixture of hope and curiosity. She wanted to know more about Luka's extraordinary abilities, and Logan's account was shedding some light on the matter.
Logan continued, "Luka has a unique gift. He is not just an alpha; he possesses amazing regenerative abilities. When he is at his most vulnerable, he can tap into this power and heal himself."
Diana's eyes widened with wonder, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of amazement for Luka.
Luka's abilities were extraordinary, and it only deepened her respect and admiration for him.
However, Logan's voice was filled with a deep sense of conviction as he spoke. "I have seen him push through unbelievable pain and injuries. He has an unyielding spirit, and he is a survivor. I do not doubt that he will overcome this."
Diana nodded, her gaze returned to Luka's unconscious form. The revelation about Luka's unique abilities had brought her a newfound sense of hope.
She had always believed in Luka's strength, and now, with this knowledge, she had even more reason to believe in his recovery.
As they continued to watch over Luka, time seemed to stand still. Each small movement, each sign of progress, filled them with expectation and positiveness.
Luka's recovery had been progressing, but it was slower than expected. His injuries, although severe, should have healed more rapidly due to his extraordinary regenerative abilities.
However, something seemed to be restricting his recovery, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that his powers were slipping away.
He was confined to the hospital ward, just a room away from Mr. Varane, who was also recovering from the ordeal at the warehouse.
Mr. Varane wasn't aware at first that his helper, Luka was rushed to the hospital. And Diana did not tell him.
Diana had been a constant presence by Luka's side, offering words of encouragement and unwavering support. She couldn't help but feel a growing concern about Luka's condition.
The following day, as the sun's rays streamed through the hospital window, a sudden chill filled the room.
Luka's senses tinged with an unusual presence, and he knew he wasn't alone. His eyes widened in surprise as a familiar figure materialised before him. It was Loric, the same Loric that appeared to Luka at the hospital library.
"Loric," Luka whispered, his voice filled with a mixture of awe and curiosity. "You have come again. What brings you here?"
Loric's expression was mysterious as he regarded Luka. He held a small bottle filled with a mysterious liquid that shimmered with an otherworldly glow.
"Luka, I have something that might help you," he said.
Luka's gaze fixed on the bottle, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of hope. "What is it? How can it help me?"
Loric placed the bottle in Luka's hand and explained, "This is ancient water, a powerful remedy with regenerative properties. It has the ability to heal wounds and restore lost strength."
Luka eyed the bottle with a sense of wonder, he asked, "And what do I give you in return for your kindness?" He understood how things work.
Loric shook his head, "Not now that you are still weak, just drink and be whole."
Luka uncorked it and took a cautious sip of the ancient water. At the moment the liquid flowed down his throat, he felt a surge of energy flowing through his veins.
The feeling was breathing life into him, and he could sense his wounds healing and his strength returning.
In a matter of moments, Luka's injuries had miraculously healed, and he sat up in the hospital bed, his eyes filled with amazement.
He turned to Loric, "This is incredible, Loric. I feel rejuvenated like I have never been injured."
Loric nodded, his gaze fixed on Luka. "It is a gift from an ancient time, bestowed upon those who possess extraordinary abilities. But there is something I must tell you."
Luka's expression turned serious as he listened to Loric's words. "What is it, Loric? Do you have any idea why my recovery has been so slow, and why am I losing my power?"
Loric's voice was serious as he replied, "Luka, Your Alpha magic is weakening. And without it, your regenerative abilities are diminishing. It is important to understand that your power is tied to a fundamental aspect of your nature, one that you cannot ignore."
Luka's brows furrowed with concern as he processed the information. "How can I strengthen my Alpha magic? What must I do?"
Loric's eyes were filled with solemnity as he spoke. "You must find a mate. The bond of a mate can reinvigorate your Alpha magic and restore your full strength. It is a connection that goes beyond the physical, an unbreakable link that will provide you with the energy and vitality you need to lead your pack."
Luka's mind raced with a storm of emotions as he considered Loric's words. The concept of finding a mate was a significant one, and he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed.
He had always been focused on protecting his pack, but now, he realized that the fate of his abilities and the well-being of his pack rested on this decision.
"I understand the importance of finding a mate," Luka replied, his voice filled with determination. "But it is not a decision to be taken lightly. I need to be sure it is the right choice, for both me and my pack."
Loric nodded in understanding. "Your path is a challenging one, Luka, but you have a unique destiny to fulfill. Trust in your instincts and the right mate will find her way to you."
"Thank you, Loric." Luka said in an appreciative manner.
As Loric disappeared, leaving Luka with a renewed sense of purpose, Diana entered the room. She had gone to get something to eat and visited Mr. Varane.
Mr. Varane felt sorry when he heard what happened to Luka. He was already feeling hale and hearty and could be discharged soon.
Before Diana left his ward, he had promised he would come and check Luka in his ward.
Diana had sensed a change in the atmosphere as she entered and she couldn't help but notice the rejuvenated look in Luka's eyes. She went closer to him and asked.
"Luka, what happened? You look different," Diana exclaimed, she met him in a different position when she left.
Luka smiled, his gaze filled with newfound determination. "Diana, it is time to go home. See I'm in a better shape, and my wounds are better now."
Diana's eyes shone with a mixture of surprise and support. She checked and saw reality. "Luka, how did this happen?"
Luka smiled, "Let's just say the Doctor did a great fixing and my inner strength gave it support."
Diana couldn't contain the feeling of happiness within her as she hugged Luka tightly and she raised her head, bringing her face close to Luka's.
