Chapter 170 Blood Moon War
Chapter 170 Blood Moon War
Luna’s POV
The First Wolf reached the surface at midnight. And Crescent Valley died screaming.
The earth exploded beneath the old church ruins, and the buildings collapsed instantly.
Trees erupted through the streets like giant claws tearing the town apart from underneath and people ran in every direction. Some didn’t make it far enough.
I watched a military truck disappear straight into a widening crack in the ground while soldiers screamed inside it.
Then, It emerged.
Every wolf in Crescent Valley immediately dropped to their knees. Including Kai and including Selene.
Even the moon-sick creatures scattered across town whimpered instinctively.
The pressure alone was unbearable, ancient, dominant and wrong.
,
The First Wolf climbed slowly from the broken earth under the church ruins, massive silver-black fur dripping with dark soil and blood. Its body was larger than any creature should logically exist, somewhere between wolf and something far older. Its eyes glowed silver. And when those eyes landed on me, my chest stopped. It was recognition.
Not predator and prey. It was boodline. The thing knew me and the storm above Crescent Valley exploded violently.
Lightning cracked red across the sky while wolves howled across the destroyed town. Kai grabbed my arm instantly. “Don’t let it inside your head.”
Too late. I could already feel it and the voice. It was ancient, hungry and lonely.,
HEIR.
The word slammed through my skull hard enough to nearly drop me.
I gasped painfully. Selene stepped closer immediately. “It’s trying to bond.”
Kai snarled at her instantly. “She’s not letting it.”
But the truth, was that a part of me wanted to. Because under the terror….
The First Wolf felt familiar. Like the wolf inside me recognized its creator.
The creature took another step forward and the entire street cracked below its weight.
Humans nearby screamed and opened fire instantly. But bullets did nothing.
The First Wolf roared.
And dozens of moon-sick creatures across town immediately lost control.
They attacked everything nearby: soldiers civilians each other and blood exploded across the streets. The war had officially started.
“Move!” Kai shouted.
Too late again.
A transformed creature slammed into us from the side hard enough to send me crashing through a storefront window. Glass tore into my skin and pain exploded through my shoulder.
The wolf inside me answered instantly. I snarled. Actually snarled.
The creature lunged again, and this time I reacted on instinct. My claws ripped straight through its throat and hot blood sprayed across my face.
Silence hit me for half a second.
Oh God. I killed it.
The realization barely landed before another attacked. Then another.
Kai crashed into the fight beside me instantly and fully transformed now.
Massive black wolf form with blue eyes glowing violently.
He tore through two moon-sick creatures protecting me before they could touch me and blood covered the street. Screams echoed everywhere.
And through the chaos…I saw Ethan standing near the ruined church holding the ritual blade.
The hooded figures surrounded him now openly and humans nearby couldn’t even see them. But I could.
Silver-eyed shadows whispering around him like living darkness.
“KAI!” I screamed.
He followed my gaze instantly and his expression changed immediately.
“Ethan, don’t!”
The First Wolf suddenly moved fast and it was impossible for something that massive. It lunged directly toward Ethan and toward the blade.
The hooded figures scattered instantly and Ethan froze. Wrong move.
The First Wolf slammed him into the church ruins hard enough to crater stone.
I heard bones break and my body moved before thought.
“Kai!”
We both ran and the bond between us exploded alive mid-fight.
Every wolf instinct synchronized instantly: movement protection attack
It felt terrifyingly natural.
Kai shifted beside me at impossible speed while I partially transformed fully for the first time willingly.
Bones cracked and silver-black fur spread violently across my arms and shoulders. My senses exploded sharp, and suddenly, the battlefield made sense.
Every scent, every heartbeat and every weakness. The wolf inside me roared alive and the First Wolf turned toward us immediately. Its silver eyes widened slightly and it was recognition again. Then…Submission. The massive creature lowered its head slightly toward me and the entire battlefield froze.
Even the moon-sick creatures stopped moving and Kai stared at me in shock.
Selene whispered softly behind us…“It chose her.”
No.
No no no.
I stepped backward immediately. “I don’t want this!”
The First Wolf answered with another deafening roar. And suddenly pain ripped through my chest violently. The mating bond.
Kai dropped beside me instantly gasping too and the First Wolf had attacked the bond itself. Not physically, it was psychically. It was trying to separate us.
Because together, we resisted its control.
Selene realized immediately. “It needs her unanchored!”
Kai forced himself upright despite the pain. “Then it doesn’t get her.”
The First Wolf lunged again and this time straight for me. Kai intercepted it instantly and the impact sounded like a bomb. He slammed into the creature midair, with claws ripping through silver fur while the First Wolf hurled him through an entire building. “KAI!”
Rage exploded inside me. It was pure, violent and wolf. The transformation surged harder than ever before and my scream turned inhuman.
Power burst outward from my body violently enough to shatter every remaining window nearby. The First Wolf froze. So did every wolf in Crescent Valley.
The hierarchy answered me instinctively.
Not it, but me. The realization terrified everyone, including Selene.
The ground below my feet cracked apart as silver energy erupted around my body. And for the first time…I fully looked like what I was becoming.
Not human and not ordinary wolf. It was something ancient and something stronger.
The First Wolf stared at me now with something new in its silver eyes. It was not dominance. It was fear.
Behind me, Ethan dragged himself from the ruins bleeding heavily and his eyes landed on me. And horror crossed his face instantly. Because he realized the truth before anyone else did. I wasn’t becoming the next monster below Crescent Valley. I was becoming something capable of replacing it.
