Chapter 23
*****Jaxon's POV*****
"Where the fuck is she?" I grit out to Seth and Nico, as they stand by my side In front of the audience of people seated before us in the garden.
The wedding was set to start at 1pm and it was now quarter past.
"I swear to fuck if she's up there having a meltdown about all of this again... even after I went to the effort to even send her flowers!" I rage through my teeth, ensuring that nobody else could hear other than Seth and Nico.
"Bro chill it's only quarter past... aren't brides always late to weddings?" Nico states, as he laughs at my growing fury.
"Five more minutes and I'll go up there and drag her out here myself." I confirm, as Seth sniggers at my temper.
We stand there as the live music suddenly begins to play, silencing the crowd who were previously chatting.
"Please all stand for the bride..." A man announced, as everyone follows the instruction and stands to their feet, turning slightly to look towards the doors in anticipation.
Finally!
My hands grow sweaty, hoping that she at least would look presentable to get through this portion of the day... I didn't have time for the dramatics and second thoughts... it had to be done.
The doors finally open, as Rinna is the first to step out, following the pathway made up of white flower petals - leading towards the platform that we where stood on.
The photographer was snapping pictures, as the next person stepped out of the doors - Michael.
He grinned and offered us a wave, matching Rinnas light pink dress with his own light pink suit, as he too slowly began to make his way through the middle towards us.
I clear my throat, which was masked by the music being played, as I await the entrance of my bride...
A moment later, she steps out into view, causing my jaw to slacken and practically hit the floor as I fully take her in...
"Fuck." I breathe, as Seth and Nico snigger beside me at my reaction, as I take in her nervous frame as she makes her way slowly towards me.
I noticed the majority of the audience, which was mostly made up of my men, staring at her longingly - drinking in her beauty - as I felt a sharp jealous rage rip through me.
I pushed it back, and instead offered Faye a smile when her eyes finally met mine and to my surprise, she returned it almost instantly...
This seriously wasn't the reaction I was expecting from her today... but she was pushing through this wedding like a trained professional... convincing everybody here that our love was actually real.
I allowed my eyes to roam her body, seeing that she had gone for a tight dress that complimented her figure massively - sparkling under the sunlight.
She was the dream bride... a bride that I was actually grateful to be able to show off at the Russo party... nobody would even question the legitimacy of our love after seeing her... she was simply the ideal woman for the job.
She eventually reaches the platform, as I step out to offer her a hand to climb the small steps.
I lead her towards the centre, having Mike and Rinna on her side and Seth and Nico on mine. The music dies out, and the audience finds their seats, as I feel Faye's small hand shake in mine.
"We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate one of life's greatest moments, and to cherish the words which shall unite Miss Faye Woods and Mr Jaxon Grey in a forever lasting marriage." The wedding official begins the ceremony, as I quickly zone out and stare at Faye.
Her eyes look up to meet mine, as I see a different look behind them - one that I hadn't noticed before. It was a look of comfort... a look that told me she felt content with this whole situation... I could no longer see the fear that she once held for me.
"If you will, please face one another and join hands." I fall out of my daze, as I follow the instructions and fully turn this time to take Faye's other hand in mine.
"Jaxon Repeat after me... I, Jaxon Grey, take you, Faye Woods to be my wife..." The official begins, as I stare down at Faye's large doe eyes.
"I, Jackson Grey, take you, Faye Woods to be my wife..." I announce loudly, feeling her jump slightly in my hands - causing me to squeeze them lightly in reassurance.
"From this day forward, for better or for worse, through sickness and in health and as long as we both shall live..." He continues as I follow his lead again.
"Ok now Faye please repeat after me... I, Faye Woods, take you, Jaxon Grey to be my husband." The official turns to Faye, as her mouth opens slightly when realising she has to speak.
"I... I... Faye Woods... take you... uh, Jaxon Grey, to be..." She begins, but trails off at the end, causing my eyes to squint slightly.
I feel my temper begin to bubble, as I open my mouth to silently threaten her...
"My husband." She concludes before I even get the chance, offering me a small smile of reassurance as I force myself to take in a deep calming breath.
"Great... now do you, Jaxon, take this woman to be your wife?" The man continues on, not forcing Faye to say much more after gathering that she was incredibly shy in this setting.
"I do." I announce without hesitation, hearing a few whistles and claps from my men in the crowd.
"Do you Faye, take this man to be your husband?" He questions, as I suddenly grow tense again knowing that this moment meant the most...
"I do." She speaks softly, enough for me to hear, as I smile down at her proudly.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, congratulations, you may kiss the bride!" He cheers, as Faye's eyes widen at the realisation but before she can protest, I pull her to me - locking my lips to hers.
The kiss felt tense at first, before she followed my lead and moved her hands to hold my face - kissing me back.
Fuck.
We pull apart after a moment, as I notice the standing crowd cheering, whistling and clapping for our union.
"You did good." I grin at her, as she smiles back.
"So did you." She says next, causing me to release a laugh.
"Time for pictures mia moglie." I state, grabbing her hand and leading her towards the garden set up for further pictures.
"Mia what?" She questions, causing me to laugh again at the fact I could call her anything in Italian and she wouldn't understand.
"My wife." I translate, as her cheeks tint red from embarrassment causing me to laugh further.
We approach our wedding party who were now stood under a large white rose archway, as the other guests moved towards the large canopy for snacks and refreshments.
"Faye... that was just... beautiful!" We notice Mike first, as he wipes at his tear stained cheeks causing Faye to laugh.
"Jesus Mike! You'd think this was a normal wedding!" She chuckles, as I instantly squeeze her hand causing her to stare at me oddly.
"Ok everyone let's have the bride and groom in for a photoshoot first!" The female photographer announces as we stand and follow her instructions on how to pose.
This was everything I had planned, but better. There was no fights, no drama, no extra bullshit. Just me, and Faye, both in it for the wrong reasons but content nonetheless...
Fucking perfect!
