Chapter XVI
Alexander's heart sank as he heard Isaac's message. He knew that his father was in danger, and he had to leave immediately to help him. He turned to Lily, his eyes searching hers. "Lily, I have to go. Urgent family matters," he said urgently.
Lily nodded, her heart heavy with the weight of everything that had just transpired. "I understand," she said softly. "Please be careful."
Alexander leaned in and kissed her softly on the cheeks. "I will," he promised before turning and running towards the exit with his men in tow. Only one man remained and came to stand by Lily.
Lily stood there, watching Alexander's figure fade into the distance. She couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that gripped her heart.
Without wasting another moment, Alexander rushed out of the door, his mind raced as he navigated through crowded streets and dimly lit alleyways.
As Alexander and his pack of werewolves made their way through the dense forest, he relished in the power that coursed through his veins. His hybrid form had fully taken over, imbuing him with unparalleled strength and agility.
Though his thoughts momentarily drifted to Lily, he knew that he had to focus solely on reaching the Kingdom of Eldoria in time to protect his people. If his enemies wanted war, then war they would have. Pushing the pain of Lily's emotions to the side took as much energy as powering up.
In ordinary circumstances, the journey to Eldoria would have taken days, but with Alexander's hybrid form, they were able to traverse the distance in no time. His pack of werewolves kept pace with him effortlessly, their movements precise and deliberate.
In the heart of a darkened forest, Alexander, a fearless and noble alpha wolf, led his pack with unwavering courage.
Their territory was under threat by an enemy army that sought to invade and conquer their sacred land. The moonlit night provided an ethereal backdrop as the tension between the two forces intensified.
As they neared the borders of Eldoria, Alexander could sense the enemy's presence. They had clearly anticipated this confrontation and were prepared to defend their territory at all costs.
Without hesitation, Alexander let out a fierce howl, a rallying cry that echoed through the trees and ignited the spirits of his loyal companions.
With their primal instincts kicking in, they charged forward with unmatched ferocity, their eyes gleaming with determination.
As they approached the enemy's army, swords clashed with sharp fangs and armor met powerful claws.
The clash of metal and fur filled the air, creating a symphony of battle that reverberated through the forest. The enemy soldiers were caught off guard by this unexpected assault from nature's warriors.
Alexander's pack moved as one cohesive unit, their movements fluid and synchronized.
They fought not only for themselves but for the freedom and sanctity of their home. Each wolf displayed unparalleled agility and strategic prowess, taking down adversaries one by one with calculated precision.
The moon shone down upon them as if acknowledging their valiant efforts.
Blood stained the ground beneath their paws as they continued to push forward relentlessly, undeterred by the dangers that surrounded them.
It was a battle for survival; a fight to preserve what was rightfully theirs.
Through the chaos and danger, Alexander emerged as a beacon of strength.
His leadership was unwavering as he strategized each move with precision.
The battle raged on, but despite fatigue setting in and injuries taking their toll, Alexander's pack refused to yield. Their bonds grew stronger with every passing moment as they pushed through exhaustion and pain together.
United by a common purpose and an unbreakable spirit, they pressed forward against all odds. The enemy's resistance wavered under the sheer force of Alexander's pack, until finally victory was within reach.
As the dust settled and silence fell upon the battlefield, Alexander stood tall amidst fallen foes.
The enemy's army lay defeated at his feet, while his pack celebrated their triumph with triumphant howls that pierced through the sky.
To his right was Issac. They fought many wars together and this one wasn't the last one.
In that moment of glorious victory, Issac thought to himself, " it was clear that Alexander's leadership had forever changed the course of this war. His passion had ignited an unyielding spirit within each of his pack members, transforming them into a force to be reckoned with. Including himself."
Prince Alexander walked with measured steps down the long hallway, his feet making a distinct echo against the walls of the castle. The weight of his responsibilities hung heavily on his shoulders, and he couldn't shake off the unease that settled in his gut.
The recent events had been tumultuous, to say the least. Lily's face flashed before Alexander's eyes.
The traitors who had betrayed him had been caught and presented to him for judgment.
His beta and close friend, Duke Issac, suggested extracting information from them through torture, but Prince Alexander recoiled at the idea.
He couldn't bring himself to resort to such barbaric tactics, even with those who had wronged him.
As he neared the Queen's chambers, he could hear muffled voices from within. Stopping outside the door, he listened in on the conversation.
"I understand your concerns, Duke Issac," Prince Alexander heard his mother say. "But I cannot condone such treatment of our prisoners."
"Your Majesty, I understand your reluctance," the Duke replied. "But we cannot risk these traitors escaping justice. We need to extract all information from them, by any means necessary."
Taking a deep breath, Prince Alexander pushed open the door. The Duke turned to him, his face grave.
"Your highness, we were just discussing the best course of action for the traitors," he said.
"I understand," the Prince replied. "But I cannot in good conscience allow torture. We will treat them humanely and ensure they are given a fair trial."
Issac nodded, his expression softening.
"Of course, your highness," he said. "I understand your position. We will do as you say."
Feeling a sense of relief, Prince Alexander left the Queen's chambers, but not before giving his mother a deep hug and loving kiss on the cheek.
Sensing that the Prince needed time alone. Issac excused himself from the chamber.
In the dimly lit throne room, Queen Isabella sat down beside her young son, Prince Alexander, to have an important conversation. She spoke in a gentle and soothing tone, trying to calm the young man's fears and worries.
Alexander showed no facial expression.
"Let me explain what has happened to your father, my son," she began. "As you know, he was injured in a battle, but he is recovering well under the care of skilled physicians.
We expect him to get better soon, but he will need some time to rest and heal."
Prince Alexander listened intently, his eyes showed no emotions.
Instead he asked, "Will he be alright, Mother?"
The queen smiled reassuringly at her son, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Yes, my dear, he will be alright," she replied. "But in the meantime, we will need your help to manage the affairs of the kingdom."
Alexander had always admired his father's strength and wisdom, never imagining a time when he would have to step into those shoes so abruptly.
The prince swallowed hard, feeling a mix of fear and determination coursing through his veins.
He hesitantly questioned, "how can I possibly handle such responsibility? I don't have my father's experience or knowledge."
The queen's worried expression softened as she squeezed her son's hand gently.
"My dear," she said reassuringly but with evident concern in her voice, "you may not have your father's experience yet, but you possess your own strengths. Your compassion for our people and your desire to bring about positive change are qualities that will guide you through this difficult time."
"First and foremost, you will need to take on some of your father's responsibilities," Queen Isabella explained. "You will need to attend to matters of state, meet with advisors, and make important decisions on behalf of your father. Including, marrying the woman you are betrothed to."
