"...Matthew, come closer," Winona Sullivan murmured.
"Winona, do you see clearly who I am?"
The lights suddenly brightened, and Winona saw the man's face on her body, causing her pupils to shrink!
"Zachary? How could it be you?!"
The man held her chin, his face extremely cold, "If you get on my bed, you should know I'm not easy to mess with."
"It's not like that, I made a mistake..." Winona struggled to push him away, but it was too late. The tearing pain overwhelmed her, and she was completely engulfed in this dark night...
Later, Zachary Bailey threw a card at her, and Winona slapped him!
He licked his lips with his tongue, smiling mockingly, "Isn't this what you wanted, hmm?"
One sentence completely crushed Winona, and now she had no room for regret.
"Zachary, I don't want money, I want you to marry me!"
Three years later, Regal Oaks.
Winona watched the entertainment news on TV, where dancer Fiona Clark accidentally fell off the stage, causing chaos at the scene.
A man in a suit and leather shoes walked through the crowd with a cold face, picked up the injured woman, and left quickly.
Although it was just a side profile, after three years of marriage, even if he turned to ashes, Winona could still recognize him.
Last night... this man was lying in bed, saying he would come back early today.
She turned her head and looked at the cold food on the table, which she had worked hard to prepare all afternoon.
Winona stood up and walked over, throwing all the food into the trash bin.
Two blisters appeared on the pale back of her hand, contrasting with her expressionless act of pouring the food, it was so ironic.
After pouring the food, Winona went upstairs to pack her luggage.
She remembered that on the day she and Zachary got married, they also signed a divorce agreement for a period of three years, during which Fiona would go abroad for further studies.
Although there were still three months left until the agreed time, Fiona returned to the country in advance, did the divorce agreement officially take effect?
Carrying her suitcase downstairs, Winona called Zachary on his phone number.
A man's impatient voice came through the receiver, saying, "What do you want?"
Listening to his indifferent tone, Winona's fingers holding the phone turned slightly pale, as if he had already forgotten his promise from last night.
But then again, how could one believe the words a man says in bed?
"Have you eaten?"
Perhaps not wanting to answer her boring question, he remained silent for a few seconds before saying, "If there's nothing important, hang up. I'm busy."
With a concise and straightforward sentence, he hung up after speaking.
Later, Winona drove off, choosing the most expensive car in the garage.
Originally, she didn't feel anything special among that collection of luxury cars, but once she hit the road, that extravagant and domineering feeling emerged.
She went directly to the city's most high-end seven-star hotel and handed over a black card to the front desk, saying, "Presidential suite, for three months."
The front desk smiled and took the black card, saying, "Certainly, madam. The total is fifteen million dollars. You have booked the presidential suite, and if you choose to check out early, we will impose a thirty percent cancellation fee."
Winona didn't change her expression and said, "Just charge the card."
Tomorrow, she estimated that she wouldn't need Zachary's money anymore.
The divorce agreement drafted by her lawyer was to split the assets in half. However, if Zachary didn't agree and wanted to confront her, there was no telling if she would end up with nothing.
After all, the legal team at the Bailey Group included top professionals in the industry, and there wasn't much they couldn't achieve.
Since that was the case, she might spend as much as she can while she was still Mrs. Bailey.
After swiping the card, the front desk respectfully handed her the room card, saying, "Madam, please keep your room card safe!"
At this moment, when others looked at Winona, their eyes seemed to be looking at a walking golden tycoon...
Outside the operating room of the hospital.
When Zachary saw the credit card statement, his brows furrowed slightly, not because of the amount but because the recipient was a seven-star hotel.
He was about to call Winona when Fiona was pushed out of the operating room by a doctor.
She was still wearing her dance costume, and her arms were covered in cuts from the stage decorations when she fell. They had been stitched up, making it even more distressing to look at.
And her complexion was paler than the sheets beneath her.
Zachary put away his phone and walked over. "Doctor, how is she doing?"
"There's a slight concussion, soft tissue injuries in multiple areas, and minor spinal injuries, but according to the examination results, it's not particularly serious."
Although she hadn't sustained any severe injuries, falling from such a height, Fiona's complexion remained deathly pale.
She looked at the doctor and asked anxiously, "Will this affect my career in the future?"
The doctor answered cautiously, "It depends on the recovery process. It's not ruled out that there might be an impact."
Fiona's eyes immediately turned red, but she still forced herself to look at Zachary. "Zachary, thank you for today. You can go back now. I can handle it myself..."
Before she could finish her sentence, the doctor interrupted sternly, "No, someone needs to stay and monitor her. With the mild injuries she sustained, we cannot take any risks."
"Concussion is also risky; it's no joke," Fiona moved her lips as if wanting to say something, but Zachary interrupted, "I'll stay tonight, don't worry about anything."
After knowing each other for so long, Fiona naturally understood his temperament. "Thank you, but... Do I need to call Winona and explain?" The news has caused quite a stir; she should have seen it too. The man was silent for a few seconds, annoyed, he furrowed his brow. "No need." Zachary stayed at the hospital until dawn before returning home.
The housekeeping staff had already started cleaning. Upon seeing him return, they asked, "Just got back? Would you like breakfast?"
"Yes," he had not slept all night, and now he had a slight headache.
Rubbing his temples, he casually asked about Winona, "Where's Mrs.Bailey?"
"She should have gone to the company; I haven't seen her since I've been here."
Zachary didn't like having outsiders in the house; the housekeeper did not live here. Glancing at his watch, he remembered that Winona would usually be having breakfast around this time, so the hotel from last night was her treat for him? She didn't come back all night.
Zachary's face darkened. Unaware of his expression, the housekeeper brought breakfast and a document with her, saying, "Sir, this was delivered by the property this morning; they said it's a package for you."
His residential address was confidential, so documents were usually sent to the company and brought to him only if the secretary deemed it necessary. Since he had some free time now, Zachary didn't mind and opened it immediately.
At the top was the eye-catching words "Divorce Agreement," causing his already dark expression to become icy and cold. Scanning through it in one glance, when he saw the division of assets, a cold smirk escaped his lips. "Quite detailed."
All of his houses, cars, cash, and stocks were evenly divided. Zachary murmured, "Daring to think." The housekeeper dared not say a word; she had also seen the words "divorce" on it and wished she could disappear on the spot. Holding the agreement in one hand, he dialed a number on his phone with the other. A woman's voice sounded sleepily from the other end, "What's up?"
