Games 014
Madison POV

I woke up late, my eyes heavy from barely sleeping. My room was bright as the morning light creeped in through the curtains.

I had tossed all night, my body restless and my mind stuck on that nonsense thoughts, 'what if Maddox repay me?'

I dragged myself out of bed, my tank top and shorts clinging to my skin from midnight sweat. I needed to act normal today, like I hadn’t danced in that tight dress. I grabbed a hoodie, pulled it on, and headed downstairs to the kitchen, my stomach twisting with hunger.

The house was quiet, but I knew Maddox was here, I had heard his faint and unmistakable footsteps last night, when he came back from only he knows.

Thank goodness, he hadn't come to my room nor knocked at my room door, but the thought of him in the house had kept me awake all night, making her a few hours of sleep.

I walked into the kitchen, the smell of coffee hitting me. Was Eva around? She wasn't around, I know or was it Maddox? I grabbed a mug from the cabinet, my hands shaky as I poured coffee, trying to focus on the task. "Act casual Maddie." I told myself. "Just act normal."

I sat at the table, sipping the coffee, the mug sending warm sensations in my hands. I glanced at the doorway, expecting him, yeah, it's who you thought. I expected him to walk in.

My thighs were pressed together under the table, a pulse of heat hitting me as I remembered his face at the club, calm and intense, watching every move I made. "Maddie, you really aren't scared of him right? Breath, he is just a normal human as you." At least my mind was always confident, but I wasn't.

I set the mug down, my fingers tapping the table, trying to distract myself.

The sound of footsteps on the floor made me freeze. Maddox walked in, his presence filling the room. He was in a black shirt and a grey sweatpant. Damn it, a sweat pant again.

His hair was slightly messy, his jaw tight. He didn’t say anything, he just went to the counter and poured himself coffee. I kept my eyes on my mug, my heart pounding. "Act casual,"!I repeated in my head. I picked up my phone, scrolling through nothing, pretending to be busy. But I could feel him, his gaze pulling me even from across the room.

He sat at the table, right across from me, his chair scraping the floor. I glanced up and his eyes were on me, dark and expressionless like they had been at the club. My breath caught, and I looked back at my phone, my fingers trembling. “Morning,” I said, my voice quieter than I wanted.

I hated how nervous I sounded, how my body was reacting to him. “Morning,” he said, his voice low, almost like a growl. He leaned back, sipping his coffee, his eyes never leaving me.

My skin heated and also crawled with a flush creeping up my neck. I shifted in my seat, my shorts riding up, my thighs clenching under the table. I tried to focus on my phone, but his gaze was heavy, like a touch I couldn’t shake.

I set the phone down, picking up my mug again, just to have something to do with my hands.

“You sleep okay?” he asked, his tone casual, but his eyes said something else. They were sharp like they were studying me, like he knew I had been thinking about him. My stomach twisted, and I felt a throb between my legs, Jesus, not now. You can't betray me. My body was betraying me.

“Yeah,” I lied, taking a sip of coffee. “You?”

He shrugged, his lips twitching into a faint smirk. “Fine.” He set his mug down, his hand resting on the table with his fingers tapping slowly. Was he playing with me?

My nipples hardened under my tank top, and I crossed my arms over my chest, hoping he didn’t notice. But his eyes flicked down, just for a second, and I knew he had. No he hadn't, I still had my hoodie.

My face burned red like if I was guilty. Was I? Nevermind, I looked away quickly focusing on the table.

I needed to say something, anything, to break the tension. “Eva’s not here,” I said, my voice steadier this time. “She’s at her boyfriend’s.”

“I know,” he said, his voice low, his eyes still on me. Damn me, i thought I wasn't supposed to be talking to him. He leaned forward slightly, his elbows on the table, and I felt the air shift. “Just you and me, then like that afternoon and morning.” His words were simple, but they hit hard, sending a jolt through my core.

I pressed my thighs together tighter, trying to ignore the heat pooling in my panties. He wasn’t touching me, wasn’t even close, but his gaze was enough to make my body ache. I knew I was mad at him for the lie before but you guys had to understand me. I had a crush on him.

I stood, needing to move, to get away from his eyes. I walked to the counter, grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl with my back turned to him. I could feel his stare on me, burning into my skin, following every move. I peeled the banana, my hands shaky, and took a bite, trying to act like I don't care. Of course I don't. “Got any plans today?” I asked, keeping my voice light, like we were just two people having breakfast.

“Some,” he said, and I heard his chair shift. I turned, and he was standing now, leaning against the counter, closer than before. Not close enough to touch me but close enough to make my chest run a marathon.

His eyes raked over me, slowly, lingering on my legs, my hips and then my chest. My breath hitched, and I set the banana down, my hands gripping the counter behind me. He didn’t move, he just stood there watching me, his smirk gone but his eyes still intense.

“What about you?” he asked, his voice was low like if he was challenging me. He took a step closer, closer and I felt the heat of his body, even from a foot away. My thighs clenched, my panties soaked now, and I hated how much I wanted him to close the gap. I wanted to step back, to run but my body thought otherwise.

And then it clocked to me that, I was trapped, not by him, but by the way he made me feel. “Just… stuff,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. I couldn’t think straight, not with him this close, his cologne hitting me, his eyes pinning me in place.

I grabbed my mug from the table, needing something to hold onto, and took a sip, my hands trembling. He didn’t say anything, he just watched me, his gaze sliding down my body again. My nipples were hard, pressing against my tank top. My face flushed, and I turned back to the counter, setting the mug down and trying to breathe.

“You seem nervous,” he said, his voice smooth and teasing. He was closer now, his body just behind mine, not touching me but you get it right? Yeah, that close that could feel his heat. My core throbbed, and I pressed my hands against the counter, trying to steady myself. “Something on your mind?”

I shook my head, not trusting my voice. “I’m fine,” I said, forcing the words out. I turned, and he was right there, his chest inches from mine, his dark eyes, unreadable.

“Good,” he said, his voice low and his gaze dropping to my lips for a second. He didn’t touch me but it felt like he was everywhere. My body was screaming for him, my thighs were wet, my breath short. I wanted to push him away, to yell at him but I couldn’t. I wanted him closer, wanted his hands on me, and that scared me more than anything.

He stepped back, picking up his mug, his eyes still on me. “See you around, Madison,” he said, his voice calm, like he hadn’t just made my panties soaked.
