Chapter 127 Saving Alex

Chapter 127 Saving Alex
Alex was still swaying, his weight collapsing unevenly against Lucas no matter how hard Lucas tried to steady him. His body burned, his breath uneven, every step looked like it cost him everything.
“Alex, stay with me,” Lucas muttered, tightening his grip around his waist.
Footsteps thundered down the hallway. Securities are already being directed toward where Alex and the mysterious man had been seen. Jason tagging along with them. The tension in the air was sharper and urgent.
On getting to Lucas and Alex, The securities forged ahead searching for the shadowed guy while Jason helped Lucas to guide Alex out.
They took another way to avoid pushing through the crowd, questions or stares that might erupt to something else. Their eyes scanned frantically until they got out of the building.
Lucas struggled to hold Alex upright, as Jason searched for Alex’s car key. On getting it out from his pocket, he hurried to get his car around.
Alex tugged hard at Lucas's collar nearly getting him to trip.  Lucas snapped at him with a strained breath. “Come on Alex, take it easy. Help me to help you.”
Alex groaned, “I want some sugar baby.” He leaned in trying to kiss him but Lucas moved away.
“Lucas, this way” Jason called as he parked the car and rushed out.
Together, they moved fast, coordinated as they headed toward the car and helped Alex in.
“Lucas help me, it’s too hot. I want some sugar.” Alex muttered, grabbing Jason’s arm calling him Lucas.
“Damn it,”Jason cursed angrily. “He couldn't even tell the difference. It seems like they gave him an aphrodisiac.”
“Yeah, from his reaction, I believe it's what he is suffering from.” One of the security said behind them holding up Alex’s suit. “I think it belonged to him, I picked it up around the hallway.”
Lucas collected it from his hand. “Thanks, did you guys catch that guy?”
“Not yet, they're still searching.” The security guy responded.
“So what do we do, should we take him to hospital?” Lucas asked worriedly.
“No, best is to take him to his wife or put him under a cold shower. He will be fine with time.” The man said with a chortle, “Damn, whoever gave him that is a bitch. Was the person trying to rape him or what?” He shook his head in disbelief.
Then as he turned to go, he said, “Anyways, you guys should take care of him. We will contact you if we get anything. Security was going back to check if he could dictate who gave him the drink.” With that the man left.
“Lucas, sit with him.” Jason told him.
Lucas nodded and entered the back seat beside Alex.
Jason shut the door and moved to the front seat, glancing back, his expression dark with realization.
“We’re not going home,” he said, starting the engine. “We’re getting him checked in the hospital.”
Alex was fumbling with the door handle to come out. Then he groaned, his head lolling back, fingers gripping weakly at Lucas’s shirt. “Please…” he whispered, voice hoarse and desperate. “Lucas… help me…”
“I’m right here,” Lucas said quickly, panic creeping into his tone. “I’ve got you.”
Jason put the vehicle in motion.
Lucas, sat in confusion not knowing how to help him there.
Suddenly, Alex’s hand shot out, fumbling with Lucas’s clothes.
“I want some sugar.” He muttered, tugging weakly at Lucas’s shirt. “Need it… please…”
“Hey, easy honey,” Lucas murmured, trying to soothe him.
“Lucas, be watchful so he doesn't open the door. Remember he’s not in his right mind.” Jason reminded him.
Lucas nodded and slid his arms around him pulling him to himself and holding him firmly.
“Alex, stop,” he said, softer now but urgent. “You will be okay.”
But Alex only leaned into him, clinging, his body trembling.
“Lucas…” he breathed against his neck, voice low, wrecked. “It’s too much… please… I need some sugar.” His words dissolved into a broken whisper.
Jason let out a low chuckle, shaking his head as he glanced at them through the rearview mirror. “Is this really Alex acting like this?” he teased lightly. “Come on, Lucas, try giving him some sugar.”
   Lucas froze instantly.
Heat crept up his neck, his fingers pausing where they rested against Alex’s chest. For a moment, he didn’t even breathe, caught between panic, embarrassment, and the weight of everything happening too fast.
Jason’s chuckle softened, turning almost reassuring. “Hey, don’t get all worked up about it,” he added. “If you guys haven’t gotten that far yet, it doesn’t matter. There’s always a first time.”
   Lucas swallowed.
“He’s your guy,” Jason continued, voice steady now. “Just, help him a little. Calm him down. Maybe hold him, caress him… whatever works. We’ll be at the hospital soon.”
Then, without another word, Jason reached forward and slid the partition glass up, sealing off the front from the back, giving them privacy.
Silence fell inside the car. The tension became thick and intimate.
In the back seat, Alex trembled harder against Lucas, his fingers clutching tightly onto his shirt like he was afraid of slipping away. His breathing was uneven, shallow, his body still radiating heat.
“Lucas…” he whispered again, weaker this time.
Lucas exhaled slowly, steadying himself. “Hey, I’ve got you,” he murmured, his voice softer now, more certain.
Alex leaned in, kissing his neck muttering, “Some sugar, Lucas.”
Carefully, he adjusted Alex against him, one arm wrapping securely around his back while the other came up to cradle his head, guiding him to rest more comfortably against his chest. His touch was gentle, deliberate, meant to soothe, not overwhelm.
“Just stay with me, okay?” he added quietly.
Alex’s grip tightened in response, like that alone anchored him.
Lucas hesitated for only a second before lowering his head slightly, pressing a soft, reassuring kiss to Alex’s temple. Trying to let him know he wasn’t alone.
“I’m right here,” he whispered again.
Outside, the city lights blurred past.
Inside, all that mattered was keeping Alex steady, holding him together until they got help.
Lucas’s heart pounded violently as realization crashed over him. This was exactly what he had gone through when he’d been drugged. The heat, the disorientation, the desperate need for relief. It wasn’t just alcohol.
“Damn it…” he breathed under his breath.
Alex was burning up. Quickly, Lucas loosened the buttons of his shirt, exposing part of his chest to let him breathe. His hands moved instinctively, gently, rubbing his arms, steadying him, trying to ground him through the haze.
“I’ve got you, just stay with me,” he murmured. But his mind wasn’t still, it raced.
Whatever had happened back there wasn’t an accident. That guy, the one who knew his name knew something. Then the name Mac flashed on his mind
   Lucas’s breath hitched.
His eyes widened slightly as the thought slammed into place. Could it be him? Or, were they working together?
What if they were the same person?
   Lucas’s heart thudded.
For a split second, everything around him faded, the hum of the engine, the city lights flashing past the window, Jason’s tense silence in the front seat.
   “Was his intention rape?”
