Chapter 115 Intimacy unfolding

Chapter 115 Intimacy unfolding
Lucas’s grip tightened around the phone.
Water from the running shower could be heard faintly from the bathroom. Alex was completely unaware of the conversation happening outside.
“You’re just a phase for him, Lucas,” his father finished coldly. “And when he’s done with you, you’ll come crawling back home with nothing.”
“Alex loves me, Dad,” Lucas said, his voice firm despite the exhaustion creeping in. “Please just let us be. And if he dumps me one day, that will be my problem to deal with. Could you just end this issue, please because my mind is already made up.”
A harsh scoff exploded from the other end of the line. “What the heck is wrong with you, Lucas?” his father snapped. “Who taught you this kind of lifestyle, huh? You'd better come back to your senses because I will not accept this madness!”
Lucas closed his eyes briefly, running his fingers through his hair.
“Nobody taught me anything, Dad,” he replied, his tone quieter now but unyielding. “I’ve never felt anything for the opposite gender, right from the time I knew there was a male and female gender. I tried but it didn't work. You know I was close to Diana. I know she liked me. We were still friends even till now, but I felt nothing. Just let this go, Dad. You can't change me. I love Alex.”
He paused for half a second before adding calmly,
   “Good night, Dad.”
   “Lucas, don’t you dare hang…”
The rest of the sentence never came because Lucas had already cut the call.
The room fell into sudden silence.
For a moment he stared at the dark phone screen, anger bubbling inside his chest. Then he let out a frustrated groan as he dragged a hand through his hair.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath. “Why can’t you understand this, Dad? I can’t change to please you.”
Behind him, the bathroom door clicked open softly. Warm steam rolled out into the bedroom as Alex stepped out, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist. Drops of water still clung to his hair and traced slow lines down his chest.
He had heard enough.
Alex paused by the doorway, studying Lucas quietly. The tense shoulders, the clenched jaw, the frustration still radiating from him.
His expression softened.
Without saying anything at first, Alex walked toward him.
“Everything okay?” he asked gently.
Lucas stiffened slightly, realizing Alex might have overheard.
For a second he considered brushing it off. But the concern in Alex’s eyes made it impossible to pretend.
Lucas exhaled slowly and looked away. “My dad,” he said with a bitter half-laugh. “Still trying to convince me to leave you, quit my job, and go home to marry Derby.”
   Alex’s brows knit slightly.
Lucas continued before Alex could respond.
He thinks you’re just a phase,” he added quietly. “That one day you’ll dump me and marry a woman.”
The words hung heavily in the air.
Lucas tried to sound indifferent, but there was a faint crack in his voice that betrayed him.
Alex’s gaze darkened, not with anger at Lucas, but at the implication. He stepped closer.
Then he reached out, gently taking Lucas’s hand and pulling him closer to him. “Look at me, Lucas,” Alex said softly.
   Lucas lifted his eyes.
Alex held his gaze steadily, his voice low but unwavering. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Alex's presence was calm and grounding, like an anchor in the middle of Lucas’s storm. Raising his hand to his chin, he said softly,
“Hey baby, don’t let this get to you.”
Lucas exhaled slowly, some of the tension easing just from Alex’s voice.
“He’ll come around,” Alex continued gently. “Maybe not now, maybe not soon. But one day, he will. You have to be patient with him.”
Lucas looked at him, searching his face. “Alex, what if he doesn’t?” he asked quietly.
Alex didn’t hesitate. “Then we’ll still be here waiting,” he said firmly. “You and me, loving us. That’s what matters.”
His thumb brushed lightly against Lucas’s cheek. “Trust me, Lucas,” he added, his voice low and sincere. “I will give my life for you. I’m not going anywhere, come rain or come sun. I’ll be right here, by your side.”
Something in Lucas’s expression softened completely. The tension melted and the doubt faded. Lucas said almost in a whisper. “I trust you,”
Then, without another word, he wrapped his arms around Alex in a tight, warm embrace, like he needed to feel those words, not just hear them.
Alex smiled softly and held him just as tight. One of his hands slid up to Lucas’s hair, gently threading through the soft strands, playing with it absentmindedly. He did it soothingly and it was calming every lingering fear.
For a few seconds, neither of them spoke. They didn’t need to because their hearts felt it all.
When Alex finally pulled back slightly, it was just enough to look at him. His hand moved from Lucas’s hair to his cheek, cupping it tenderly. His thumb traced slow, affectionate circles against his skin.
“I love you, Lucas,” he confessed quietly, his voice thick with emotion. “Not just now, not just in moments like this. I mean always.”
   Lucas’s breath caught slightly.
Alex leaned in, closing the distance between them, and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to his lips. It was gentle, reassuring, and full of promise.
Lucas responded instantly, his hands tightening around Alex as the kiss deepened just a little, sweet, unhurried, filled with everything they didn’t need words to say.
After a while, Alex drew back just enough for breath, his lips brushing the shell of Lucas’s ear as his voice dropped to a husky whisper. “Baby… I want more. You’re driving me sweet crazy.”
Lucas let out a soft, shaky laugh, his fingers tightening slightly around Alex’s back. “Same with me, honey” he murmured, voice low and warm. “Sweet crazy.”
That was all the permission Alex needed. He captured Lucas’s lips again, slower this time, deeper, more deliberate. His hand slid beneath Lucas’s back, warm and steady, moving in gentle strokes that sent shivers racing along Lucas’s spine.
Every touch felt intentional, like Alex was learning his body. The kiss grew richer, consuming, pulling Lucas further into the moment. Alex’s tongue thrusted into Lucas’s mouth, teasing him. Lucas followed instinctively, responding with a mix of curiosity and hunger, like a partner in training, mesmerized and yet enjoying every bit of the new experience.
Every new movement got Lucas’s breath hitched, his movements soft at first, then more certain, drawn in completely.
When Alex finally pulled back, it was only for air. They stayed close, foreheads nearly touching, breaths mingling, chests rising and falling in sync. The world around them faded into nothing.
Alex’s hands lingered beneath Lucas’s clothes, tracing slow, comforting patterns along his back as his gaze softened. “Baby…” he whispered, voice thick with emotion. “I love you so much. You know that, right?”
Lucas nodded, swallowing hard, his eyes saying everything he couldn’t quite put into words.
A quiet tension that hung between them grew deeper than before, charged with something unspoken but undeniable.
   Alex hesitated, searching Lucas’s face.
