Chapter 10 You're impossible
When they finally broke apart, breathless and flushed, Lucas giggled like a mischievous child. “Oh my cutie… where have you been all my life?” he whispered, his voice thick with want and mischief. Then, with a playful glint in his dimmed eyes, he added, “I think I’m ready to lose my virginity.”
“What?” The question escaped Alex's lips as he blinked, stunned at how simple it came out of his mouth.
Lucas chortled nonchalantly. “I’m serious, didn't my old man give you your job description?" He said as he stumbled toward the bed, dragging Alex along by the hand with his unsteady legs. “Come on, cutie, I’m all yours. I’ll pay you—ten times whatever my old man offered you for this gig. Just don’t stop kissing me, I like you.”
He collapsed onto the bed with a drunken chuckle, tugging at Alex’s wrist like an eager child demanding candy. “You smell so good… your lips taste like lollipops. I don’t want the lollipops to finish.” he laughed drunkenly.
Alex stood frozen for a second, heart pounding, staring down at the beautiful mess in front of him, begging to lose his virginity.
Since Alex's betrayal by James, any gender that crossed his path never went scot-free. They all felt the ruthless side of him. But there he was giving a thought to this man's demand.
“Come on, cutie,” he tried to stand, but kept staggering back.
“Hey beautiful, you are trouble, do you know that?” Alex asked him with both hands on his waist.
“Then deal with me, cutie. Kiss kiss,” he chortled from the bed, tugging at his shirt with his mouth set towards Alex for a kiss.
Alex settled on the bed. “You're so adorable, so familiar, but a fucking tempting trouble.”
He leaned in and brushed his lips, but part of him screamed for him to stop, and his body burned with something else entirely. Something different if he were with someone else.
“Beautiful…” he breathed trying to hold himself as he stood up.
Lucas only smiled, eyes half-closed. “Cutie, don’t say no, just stay. I felt something real with you.”
Alex took a few steps towards him again, heart thudding with conflicted desire. He ran his hand through Lucas’s hair and froze. The feeling of the hair felt familiar, just as those blue eyes…” looks like Lucas’s but he couldn't have grown this big.”
He stood, instantly running his hands through his own hair. “No,” he whispered to himself. “It can't be him and I can’t do this either. His old man didn’t send me here. I should be thinking of a way to help this guy out of here. I’m only trying to protect him. He’s vulnerable, drugged. Taking advantage would make me no different than the people who plan this and the girl I scolded a while ago.”
Still, Lucas was pulling him again, laughing softly. “What are you waiting for, cutie? Come on. I want some love,” he said, standing up, staggering slightly.
Alex caught him once more, steadying his weight. Lucas looked up at him with dreamy eyes. “You’re so sweet, cutie. You will always catch me before I fall, won’t you? Mmh?” He giggled and hugged him tight, the scent of his hair and cologne wrapping around Alex.
Just then, Lucas’s phone started buzzing in his pocket.
Alex gently fished it out and looked at the screen. “It’s Em… who’s that? A she or he?” he asked.
Lucas chuckled, eyes glassy. “That’s my sweet little sister. Tell her… We’ll get back to her. Kiss kiss,” he said, puckering his lips for another kiss.
Alex smiled despite himself, touched and tempted. He made him settle down on the couch. Then forced his focus, answering the call.
“Hey, big bro! Where are you?” a worried voice chirped. “I’ve been scanning the whole place looking for you!”
“Hello, Em? I need you to come to Room 443. Your brother has been drugged, come and take him home.” Alex said urgently, then ended the call before she could respond.
He turned back to Lucas, who was still flushed and giggling, lost in his haze. Alex crouched in front of him, gently stroking his cheek. “Your sister’s on her way. She’ll take you home safely.”
But Lucas pouted, his voice slurring with childlike insistence. “No, cutie… I don’t want to go home. I want to stay with you. More kisses, hmm?” He leaned in towards Alex.
Alex let out a breathy laugh, trying to guide him to relax. “You’re impossible, you know that?” He helped him sit, but as he turned to move away, Lucas suddenly yanked his shirt with surprising strength.
Caught off guard, Alex stumbled, but twisted his body mid-fall and landed beside him on the couch.
“Damn it,” he muttered, blinking as he looked at the blissfully unaware man beside him.
Lucas chuckled lazily, took his hand, and snuggled against his arm, eyes fluttering shut. “Cutie… stay with me, okay?”
Alex stared at him, heart squeezing. “Even with abs like steel, you act like a cuddly kitten,” he murmured, brushing a stray hair from Lucas’s forehead. “Such a beauty… Who are you, really?” he whispered, half in joy, half in wonder.
Meanwhile, just moments after Alex had tailed the masked man and Lucas out of the hall, Derby had spotted him and followed. But midway through the chase, she lost sight of him. Frustrated, she yanked out her phone and made a call.
The line clicked. “Hello? Hunter, the prey has disappeared into thin air. I think I’ve lost him,” she said through clenched teeth.
“Damn it,” the person on the other end hissed. “His friends are still hanging around. I personally saw him take the first sip from the juice the waiter spiked. He should be feeling drowsy by now. I’ll search the upper floors—keep scanning the lower areas. We need to find him before the effect wears off.” He cut the call abruptly.
The two of them scoured the venue in separate directions, unaware that Alex had already slipped far beyond their reach and was undetectable.
Back at the VIP, at Alex's table, where Jason and the rest of the group were still laughing, sipping drinks, and soaking in the music, Annie strolled over and casually dropped into Alex’s empty seat.
“Where has Mr. Mysterious run off to now?” she asked with a playful smirk, glancing around.
Jason shrugged, still grinning. “He said he’d be right back. You know how he is, probably chasing someone’s shadow.”
Annie’s eyes landed on the untouched glass of juice sitting by the table’s edge. She gave a soft chuckle. “Guess this one’s my brother’s. Only Alex would order juice at a party like this.”
“Come on, sis, you don’t even have to ask,” Jason said, nudging her. “It’s practically his signature move.”
Annie lifted the glass and swirled it playfully. “Exactly. He’s different, and I love that about him.” With a proud smile, she took a small sip.
But within minutes, something felt off.
Sweat began forming at her temples. A strange heat flushed through her body. Her limbs grew heavier by the second. Her eyes blinked in slow motion, and the laughter around her suddenly sounded distant, warped.
“Uh… guys?” she muttered, trying to rise.
Jason and the others turned sharply as she staggered, her fingers gripping the edge of the table for balance.
“Annie? Are you okay?” Jason’s voice was laced with alarm now.
She chuckled weakly, but her words slurred slightly. “What the heck… did someone spike my brother’s juice? What is in this drink?”
Jason’s heart dropped. “Wait—what?”
Her gaze locked onto him, urgent. “Where is Alex?”
