Chapter 30: Because of Her

I was feeling uneasy when I saw her. My sister, Athena. I have also wondered on how she traced me down here. Now, her face looks sarcastic at this time. The presence she has on me today was different

"How's your life, sis? Long time no see." She seems different the way she stares on me.

The nervous is shallowing my whole self as looking to my sister and how her presence is. I hope she has no idea of what I feel to his boyfriend same as him. Hoping, it can't happened.

"I'm fine." Stuttering in front of her.

She just laughs with sarcasm, "Why do you look so tense?"

"I am just surprised to meet each other again unexpectedly." She giggled.

"Really?" I nodded. "I went here not to waste my time but I want to say that you should stay away with my boyfriend." She automatically changed her reactions.

"What are you saying, Athena?" She even approached me a little.

"You still really deny that you intend to get Greige on me." She insisted.

I feel the tension between the two of us. I tried to calm myself as I invite her to enter my apartment for awhile to talk about it in a due manner because I don’t want her to misinterpret what happened yesterday.

"Can we just talk inside?" I pleased her but she rejected.

"No. I want people here to know what kind of woman you are."

It hurts me more of those words she uttered. This is what I afraid for but it all happened. It bothers me because your own sister is speaking bitter words against you.

"Athena." Drawing my breath as convincing her to calm but she doesn't.

"Are you afraid that people here will find out?"

"No." I refuse.

I'm not ashamed because I didn't intend to steal Greige from my sister. Her boyfriend continous on approaching me however what I explained it already to him. He is really consistent.

"It's not my intention, Athena. I just saved Greige's life from drowning." Trying to explain to her but she actually laughed at me sarcastically for the third time.

"Do you think I still believe of after what I have seen yesterday? And despite of what Greige have told me about his feelings for you?"

"Athena. Please, can we talk about this in a nice manner?" I am still humble in front of my sister.

"No way. Who am I? You already stole my boyfriend!"

After a while, Zen suddenly interrupted into our conversation.

"What's happening here?" He asked in a confusion. "I heard your voices in the living room."

"Your girlfriend is flirting with my boyfriend."

"It's not true." I contradict as looking to Zen.

"What are you saying, Athena? Your sister is not like that." Troezen is now defending me to my twin.

"So, you're still really defending my flirty sister." He stared at us with anger.

"Stop that, Athena." Troezen is also disgusted with what my twin is doing and saying. "Your boyfriend is the one who always seeing my girlfriend. Why don't you ask him?"

She giggled again, "Funny." She looked at me from head to toe. "I will remind you to stay away from my boyfriend or else you will suffer again."

I was stunned by the last thing she mentioned. Is that?

"Yes, I did it. I fired you."

I cried when she said it. Athena has no mercy. She is selfish. After the sacrifice I made for her, this is how she will repay me. It just the pain.

"How did you do this to your twin, Athena? You are wicked." Troezen frustratedly uttered that to her.

"I don't care what you will say. I just wanted you ..." She pointed me out. "To stay from my boyfriend."

"How many times have I told you I'm not approaching Greige." I insisted on him again.

Athena is a stubborn woman. She still insisting that she is always right. My sister doesn't care if she stepped down on anyone even me. She could destroy the reputation anyone she though is a threat to her.

"You're both really liars." She added.

"You may now go, Athena. Leave us!" Zen is driving her away.

I didn't stop him anymore since I could hardly move of what I heard. I hurt. I didn't stop sobbing until Zen hugged me.

I thought she was left. "You'll remember this, Althaea. Just come little closer to him even your home you'll lose it."

After that, she walked away and left me a without putting an end to cry.

"Ssshh. Don't listen to her. No matter what happens I'm still here beside you, Thaea. I won't leave you." Then, he hugged me again very tight.

I am so grateful to have such supportive and understanding friend like him. Eventhough our relationship is gone, he will stay furthermore to help me. Even, he is no longer my love, he is still there loving me unconditionally.

I am hoping that I would restore my feelings for him so that I don't have to suffer like this anymore and Athena won't be angry with me anymore.

I knew it was my fault too why she was so mad at me. I am stupid. I have allowed myself to fall for Greige whom I knew from the start it was impossible. I am very fragile.

"I promise that I will try my best to get back my feelings for you, Zen. Let's start a new beginning and just let me love you again just like before."

"No, Althaea. You don't have to force yourself to love me again. You don't have to feel sorry for me. I am still happy that you are here by my side. I am contented of that. Ok?"

I nodded and he hugged me again very tight so that he will make me comfortable.

The next day, I was again preoccupied myself with cleaning the entire apartment. I didn’t finish it the previous days because I was looking for a place to work. I cleaned around for a few hours that a sweat fell on me.

I wiped my body first and changed my cloathe. Drink water then resume shaving. A few moments later, I heard someone knocking on the door.

As far as I know it is Zen but was different when I saw anyone in the smallest hole.

Should I let him in or should I just let him stay there outside my unit? I want let him go because I thought he would stop but he didn't.

So, I did nothing but to open the door for him. He appeared to me his tuxedo attire that I usually see every time I enter to their office.
