Chapter 128 Chapter-128
Raven's POV

Zayne froze beside me. We stood and met Magnus's stare with equal intensity. Without breaking eye contact with Magnus, Zayne grabbed my waist and pulled me firmly against his side.

I expected Zayne to back down. Instead, he prepared himself, his own Lycan surfacing to challenge Magnus. His blue eyes narrowed into a defensive glare, burning with fury.

Zayne's muscles locked tight. My breath caught as I watched them, certain they look like they were about to tear each other's throats out right there in the dirt. But Magnus's eyes were locked on me, burning with something closer to betrayal than rage.

He didn't say a fucking word. Instead, he let out a low, guttural snarl, turned his back on us, and stalked into the trees.

The ride back was silent. My mind churned with the memory of Magnus's gaze. Why was he acting like this? Had he followed us, or had he stumbled upon us by chance? Either way, he had no right to be angry.

When we reached the mansion, Zayne pulled into the garage and turned off the engine. I climbed off the bike, and he turned to me.

"There's something else you need to know," he said in a low rasp. "Your sister isn't pregnant, Raven. It's fake. The whole fucking thing is a lie."

I stared at him, stunned. Kat wasn't carrying an heir. She was lying just to secure her power.

"How long?" I asked.

"Since the beginning," he replied. "We've verified the medical records. In a week, we're transferring Alaric to the werewolf prison."

"First, let's pay them a visit," I said. A dangerous smile curled my lips. "After all, it would be rude not to greet our guests properly."
I pushed open the heavy steel door to the underground cell. The air was thick with the smell of damp stone and old blood. Alaric was bound to the wall by thick silver chains. Dark bruises covered his skin, and every breath looked like a struggle. Yet his black eyes burned with the same arrogant hatred as always.

I stepped inside. He lifted his chin and sneered, as if he were still commanding the space.

"How are my hosting skills, Alaric?" I asked, smirking as I crossed my arms. "Is the dungeon to your liking, or are you missing your luxuries?"

He strained against the chains, his jaw clenched so hard that the bone showed through his skin.

"I'm going to wipe you out, Raven," he snarled, his tone choking with fury. "I'll rip you apart piece by piece once I get out of here."

My smile dropped. "Game over, Alaric," I said, my tone flat and cold as I stepped into his space. "No one is coming for you. You have no one left. So shut your mouth and listen."

Before he could blink, I kicked him in the stomach.

The impact echoed off the stone walls. Alaric choked and coughed up blood, his body jerking against the restraints.

I grabbed a fistful of his hair, yanked his head back, and forced him to look me in the eye. His face was covered in blood and cuts.

"Did you really think I'd let you walk out of this territory?" I hissed, my voice dropping low. "A beast like you deserves to be kept in this cage until death."

He choked on his own blood, struggling to focus on my face.

"You're nothing but a weak wolf," I spat, letting go of his hair in disgust.

The beating, layered on top of the wolfsbane already working through him, proved too much. His gaze drifted; his head dropped forward. The tension left his body, and the chains took his full weight.
Seeing him bleed should have been satisfying. The anger inside me remained unchanged; it didn't go away. In fact, it was still sharp and unrelenting."
A voice cracked from the other cell.
"Raven... is that you?" Kat whimpered, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Ooh, sweetie, be patient. I'll deal with you soon enough. First, I want to see what the love of your life has to say." I responded.
