Chapter 203
Chapter 203
When Victoria said this, Jade was completely stunned.
The information she had showed that Victoria had only gotten into jewelry a year ago.
And she spent the first six months recovering, with no exposure to jewelry design at all. How could her drafts have been done so early?
This woman must be bluffing to scare her.
She bit her lip stubbornly, "You're lying! Victoria, do you have proof?"
Eleanor chimed in from the side, "Enough! Victoria, if you can't show evidence, then stop talking. It was clearly your mistake. Are you refusing to admit it now?"
"No, I just need to wait a moment. I'll get you the proof right now."
Victoria was way too calm.
If this happened to a normal person, they would have panicked already. But Victoria was different - she seemed certain she had done nothing wrong.
Eleanor had been very confident before, but now she was getting a bit flustered too.
"Victoria, what other tricks do you have up your sleeve! What are you planning to do with these 5 minutes?"
Victoria spread her hands, looking at these people with some amusement, "What are you afraid of? I'm right here in front of all of you. What could I possibly do? I'm just making a phone call to prove my innocence."
Eleanor felt something was off. She grabbed Victoria to stop her, "Who knows if you're calling to prove yourself or to get help? Victoria, we don't trust you!"
The people below didn't know whose side to take now.
Blake stood on the second floor watching this whole show. He had his hands on the railing, live-streaming everything to Aiden, and even added his commentary, "This is all about proving her innocence now. Looks like your wife is in a tough spot. Do you need me to step in and help?"
Aiden, watching the screen on the other end of the video, wanted him to help.
But then he noticed Victoria's expression - that composure meant Victoria already had a backup plan.
"No need. Just keep watching, and if things go wrong, tell me right away."
Aiden handled his own business while keeping an eye on Victoria's situation.
Blake clicked his tongue, "Alright, but I feel like your wife... seems like she's about to lose it."
The people below started discussing in low voices.
All their attention was on Victoria. Some people even started placing bets on the spot about whether Victoria's design skills were real or fake.
Timothy watched this scene from below.
He knew this was his moment to step up. It didn't matter that he had offended Victoria before - now everyone was doubting Victoria. If he came out and stood by her side to show his loyalty, maybe Victoria would value him...
But he also had some doubts.
What if Victoria really did plagiarize? What if he supported the wrong person?
But at this point, he had to make a quick decision.
Timothy jumped straight onto the stage and grabbed the microphone from the floor, "Everyone shut up! Ms. Spencer is right here with us. She's just making a 5-minute phone call. Instead of arguing here, why not give her 5 minutes!"
Victoria really hadn't expected that at this critical moment, the person who would openly take her side would be him.
Timothy turned back and nodded at Victoria, "Ms. Spencer, I believe you. Make your call now. I'll definitely stand by you."
Victoria laughed lightly, "Alright, I'll call my teacher right now. Don't worry, I'll put it on speaker."
Victoria found the number in her favorites.
Her teacher had once said that the most important thing for a designer was to preserve their original drafts, so every one of her original drafts, full process videos, and timestamps were saved in her teacher's files.
Victoria used to think maybe her teacher was being overly cautious.
Now she realized her teacher had basically predicted this exact situation.
As the call went through.
Everyone held their breath, also wanting to know the truth on Victoria's side.
As the ringing went on and on, no one answered on the other end.
Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief.
If Victoria really got her teacher as backup, Eleanor probably... really couldn't take her down here.
Just as she was gloating and about to mock her.
The call connected at the very last second.
An elderly voice came through the receiver, "What is it? This better be something huge - I just fell asleep and you woke me up."
"Teacher, someone's saying I plagiarized. I need you to help prove my innocence."
The tone on the other end suddenly changed, "Turn on video! I want to see who doesn't believe me!"
Victoria followed her instructions and turned on video.
The most powerful designer in the jewelry world appeared before everyone.
They said this designer had gone abroad and into hiding after reaching the peak back in the day. These people had only heard rumors before that Victoria became his student.
Those rumors were true.
"I'm out of the jewelry world now, and any of you dare to bully my student? Fine, you want evidence? Give me 2 minutes!"
With that, he hung up directly.
Victoria also turned off her phone.
The people below immediately started buzzing with discussion.
"OMG! That was the jewelry world legend from last century! Everyone said he went abroad before, and there was no news at all."
"Yeah, some people even said he might have died. We actually just saw the living legend!"
Everyone had a mix of respect and fear for Victoria's teacher.
That person was basically pure talent plus extreme hard work - a genius of his generation.
After her teacher appeared, nobody doubted her anymore.
Eleanor's face looked terrible.
Jade was even more scared, but at this point, she had no way back. She could only silently pray in her heart that the evidence had been lost.
Unfortunately, in just 2 minutes.
All the proof was sent over from the other end.
Victoria directly projected it onto the big screen. Soon, slightly yellowed papers and some recorded videos appeared before everyone.
Just as Victoria said, the initial concept for this draft was from two years ago, and then it was slowly refined and modified over that year and a half.
And the whole process was recorded - not just this draft, but design drawings for other jewelry pieces were also displayed before everyone.
Jade's face went pale, and she collapsed to the ground.
Her face looked terrible, her fingernails almost digging into her flesh.
Things weren't supposed to develop this way...
Now with solid evidence, Eleanor and Jade's scheme fell apart on its own.
Eleanor glared at Jade on the ground and cursed under her breath that she was useless.
Then she tried to leave.
Victoria called out to her, "Wait a minute, Ms. Hartley, where are you going?"
