♥ CHAPTER 26 ♥

Hilary Carter.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was in a hospital room. I heard a small cry and looked to the side, seeing Anthony holding our baby.

“Calm down, my little one, Daddy is here,” he said softly.

This made me smile.

I really do have a beautiful family now.

“Look, dear, Mommy is awake.” I blinked a few times and saw him coming towards me. “Good evening, dear.”

“Good evening, my love,” I said calmly.

“He’s so beautiful,” he said, placing our baby in my arms.

“He looks like you,” I said, looking at our son.

“He takes after both of us. He has your hair color and your eyes.”

I kissed my baby’s forehead with so much affection.

“Is he healthy?” I asked.

“Yes, he’s perfectly fine. The nurse took some of your milk to feed him.”

“Alright.” I gently stroked our baby’s face.

“He’s so small and so beautiful.”

“He’s perfect.” He kissed my forehead. “I love you so much, Hilary. Thank you for this perfect family you’ve given me.”

“There’s no need to thank me, my love. This is just the beginning of our life.”

“Have you decided on his name?” he asked, continuing to stroke my hair.

“Yes. His name is Klaus Carter.”

“Beautiful name.”

I smiled at him and yawned slightly. I had just woken up and was still tired.

“Go ahead and sleep, my love. I’ll take care of our son.” He said, carefully taking Klaus from my arms.

“Has he eaten?” I asked, worried.

“Yes, the doctor fed him and I changed his diaper. You can sleep peacefully.”

He kissed my forehead tenderly.

“There’s no need to thank me for this, my love. We made him together, so it’s my duty to help you in any situation.”

I’m truly lucky to have him as my fiancé. Anthony has been a great help during this pregnancy.

“Rest, my angel.”

I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep.

****

Five days later.

1:50 PM “Hilary’s House”

“Love, are you sure you’re okay to want to get married tomorrow?” Anthony asked, sitting on the bed.

I was breastfeeding our baby.

“Of course, I want to marry you as soon as possible, love.”

“Love, this can wait. You left the hospital five days ago, and that’s a short time.” He said, worried.

“Don’t worry about it. I won’t overexert myself, and besides, our wedding will be in the garden at home, so there’s no need to worry.”

“Of course I’m worried. You’re not even sleeping properly, Hilary.”

That’s true.

“But I’m fine, don’t worry.” He sighed.

“You always say you’re fine when you’re not. Please, don’t lie to me.”

“Okay, I’m just tired, but a good night’s sleep will fix me up.”

“Alright.”

He took our baby from my arms when he stopped feeding.

“Rest a bit. I’ll take care of our son.”

“I’ve been resting for five days, love.” I pouted.

“Yes, five days of barely any rest. That’s the truth.” I huffed.

“Don’t be annoying with your fiancée, love.”

“I’m not being annoying, dear. I just want to take care of you.”

The door opened.

“I’m here to let you know that everything is organized for tomorrow,” Dylan said, entering our room without knocking.

“Don’t you knock?” He huffed.

“I heard everything from outside the door. If you’re not tired, why not have the wedding today?”

Anthony and I widened our eyes.

“What?” We asked in unison.

“You said yourself that you’re not tired and don’t want to sleep, so why not get married now?”

I looked expectantly at Anthony, who sighed.

“If you want, we can get married now, my love.” I broke into a big smile.

“Of course I want to.”

“Alright, I knew you would agree, so I sent a message to David to get a priest. They’ll be here soon. Go get ready and give me my nephew,” Dylan said, rolling his eyes.

“Since when did he become your nephew?” I asked, getting up with Anthony’s help.

“Since the day I helped you set fire to the college.”

Anthony looked at me in shock and smiled weakly.

“That’s a story for another time, my love.”

“I don’t want to hear it, love.”

“I’ll take my nephew for a walk.”

He left the room, leaving us alone again.

“Are you sure about this, my love?”

“Of course, I’m marrying the man of my life. I’m fine; I can walk a bit, and Dylan will help me get to the altar.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too, my love. Now get out so I can get ready.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

He went to the wardrobe to get his suit and left the room. I sighed and smiled at that.

“Thanks, Dylan, for this. I really wanted to get married as soon as possible.”

“It’s a pity we won’t be able to have sex since I’m on guard.”

Six weeks without sex, what a pain.

Anyway, it’s time for me to get ready.

I walked slowly to the bathroom.

***

The door was opened by David and Dylan holding my baby.

“Need any help?” David asked.

“Yes.”

He helped me zip up my dress.

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome. You look beautiful. Can we still have a threesome?” I rolled my eyes, making him laugh.

“If he’s participating, I want in too,” Dylan said, laughing.

“You two can screw off. I’m not letting anyone see my future husband naked.”

“What a shame, I bet he’s really good in bed.” I gave Dylan a deadly look, and he just laughed.

“Anyway, the priest is downstairs already. We’re the only three guests.”

“And I prefer it that way. I don’t have anyone important in my life besides you two to be at my wedding.”

“Oh stop, you’ll make me cry, woman,” Dylan said, wiping a fake tear.

“Go screw yourself.”

I sighed and looked at myself in the mirror.

“Do I look alright?”

“Yes, you look wonderful in that big dress.”

“I like big things.” Both of them made lewd faces. “Stop that.”

“Anyway, I’ll help you get to the altar,” David said.

“Alright, I’m going. Anthony is already there.”

“Okay.”

Dylan left with my baby in his arms.

“You look amazing, and you don’t even look like you had a baby five days ago.”

“Shut up, let’s get this over with. Standing is too painful.”

“And you still didn’t want to sleep.”

“I’ll only sleep when I’m married to my wonderful fiancé.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

He helped me out to the garden. It took quite a while for me to get there, walking very slowly. My body was still very sore. I know I’m very stubborn and should be resting, but I really want to marry him.

I saw Anthony waiting for me at the small altar, and my heart rejoiced.

“You two really make a perfect pair,” David whispered to me.

I just smiled at that comment.

“Here she is,” he handed me over to my handsome fiancé.

“Thank you, David,” Anthony said.

“Make her happy, Anthony.”

“Absolutely.” He kissed my hand. “You look incredible, my love.”

“You look perfect too.” We smiled at each other and turned to the priest.

“We are gathered in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen. Anthony and Hilary, the church rejoices in your joy and welcomes you with open hearts. On this day, before God, I will seal an eternal bond between you, granting you many blessings and happiness.”

He spoke, and we both nodded.

“Well, how about we start with the vows?” We nodded. “You start.”

He turned to me, and I sighed nervously.

“Well, I’m not very good with words, but I’ll try to express what I feel.”

He held my hands tightly.

“My love, I never thought I would find someone who makes my heart beat so fast. My whole life was filled with darkness, and you came to light up my life. Your smile makes me feel silly, your care, your affection, I never thought I would find the love of my life in the midst of my darkness. I promise you that I will make you the happiest woman in the world, I will protect you from all evil, and I will protect our child until the last day of my life. I promise you that.”

I smiled and wiped the tears from my cheek.

“I don’t even know what to say, my love.” I sighed. “I feel like my heart has belonged to you for a long time, since the moment I laid eyes on you that day. You have become my light; actually, Anthony, you are my everything, my man, my husband, my world. I love you too and promise to love you, care for you, and our child whenever needed. I will be by your side in the most difficult moments; always count on me for everything. I love you more than anything in this world.”

He smiled and kissed the back of my hands.

“Well, is anyone opposed to this marriage?” The priest asked. I looked at Dylan, who was wiping his emotional eyes. That idiot. David didn’t say anything.

“Well then, let’s continue,” the priest said.

We sighed.

“Very well. Will you honor each other as husband and wife for the rest of your lives?”

“Yes!” We answered in unison.

“Then repeat after me, Mr. Anthony.”

“I, Anthony Cooper, take you, Hilary Carter, to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life.”

And so he did.

“I, Anthony Cooper, take you, Hilary Carter, to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life.”

The priest looked at me and smiled.

“I, Hilary Carter, take you, Anthony Cooper, to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life.” I said firmly.

“Let me have the rings, please.”

David approached and handed them to us.

He took the box, opened it, took out the ring, took my hand, and slid the ring onto my finger.

“My beautiful wife.” He kissed the back of my hand.

I smiled at that.

“Your turn,” the priest said.

I took the ring and slid it onto his finger, also kissing the back of his hand.

“Then I declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” He said, smiling.

I pulled him into a hot, passionate kiss.

“That’s it, Hilary!!” I only heard Dylan’s voice.

We separated due to lack of air and smiled.

“I love you, Anthony.”

“I love you too, my angel.”

David approached with our baby and handed him to me.

“I love you both.” He said, kissing our baby’s forehead.

“We love you too.”

He gave me a peck on the lips.

“Thank you for insisting that I be your secretary.”

“You’re welcome. I thank you for giving me a chance.”

“I will always give you one.”

We pressed our foreheads together and gazed lovingly at our baby, who looked at us with his curious little eyes.

“We love you too, sweetie.” I said, smiling.

My husband kissed my forehead.

“It’s time to rest, my love.”

I smiled at that.

“Yes, my husband.”

“My beautiful wife.”

I will always love you, Anthony. Because you are mine, only mine.

When I want something, I get it. Now I have you as mine.

I will love you forever, my Anthony Carter.
