Chapter 59 Àlvaro's Pov.

Chapter 59 Àlvaro's Pov.
I pressed my thumb on the screen and raised the phone to my ear. “Anthonio.”

“Àlvaro.” He said sharply, not even bothering with pleasantries. “It's all going down in two days time.”

“The address?”

Anthonio told me a location and I scribbled it down on a piece of paper. “I'll brief you on the final details that morning on how we get our men in position. I'll send you blueprints of the warehouse so you can plan where your men will be when Sergei arrives.”

I nodded, leaning back in my chair. “Alright. I'll speak to you then.”

“Goodbye Àlvaro.”

But just before he hung up, I called out his name. “Anthonio?”

“Yeah?”

“Let's make that son of a bitch pay.”

Anthonio chuckled slightly. “Don't worry, we won't be finished with him until he's choking on his own blood and pleading for his worthless life.”

“Excellent.”

“Are the men in position?” I asked Santiago as we made to leave the house and proceed to the warehouse where Anthonio would be luring Sergei.

Santiago nodded at me as we both headed out of the house with our guns attached to us, full to the brim with ammunition. Anthonio mentioned that he was bringing Sergei to the location in about forty minutes and we needed to be there before they arrived. I was more than ready for the bloodshed.

The car journey was fairly silent and I just couldn't stop thinking about Camilla. I've barely spoken to her since the last time she texted me but work had to come first. We could continue that conversation after Sergei had been dealt with. Her safety had to come first.

But I promised myself that I'd make it up to her after all this is over. There was a lot I wanted to say to her when this was all over.

Santiago soon pulled up outside the abandoned building that looked like something straight out of a horror movie. I glanced at my phone when it buzzed to see a text from Anthonio.

Anthonio.

Sergei is on his way.

Àlvaro.

Where are you?

Anthonio.

Be there in 2.

I tilted my head into the building where I located some of my men hiding in strategic positions around the building. I also noticed a few of Antonio's men. I stood at the doorway with Santiago waiting for Anthonio to arrive.

A car soon pulled up and Anthonio stepped out, fixing his blazer and arranging his gun around his back. “You guys better get inside.” He urged us. “Sergei will be here soon.”

“Alright.” I said, leaving Anthonio to wait at the entrance as I entered the building with Santiago. We decided to take cover at opposite ends of the building. I could feel my fingers begin to itch at the anticipation of finally getting this motherfucker just when he least expected it. I couldn't wait to watch the light leave his eyes.

Finally a car arrived but I'm certain I heard multiple tires.

Of course that bastard came with his own men!

My eyes slid up between two boxes just so I could get a perfect view of Sergei as he strolled into the building, dark sunglasses on his face.

I hadn't seen him since the last time he paid an unexpected visit to my warehouse and he looks even bigger now.

I narrowed my eyes as he approached Anthonio. “Sergei.” Anthonio nodded sharply.

Sergei stopped short, sizing Anthonio up and I held my breath. “Anthonio.” He said in response. “This shithole is what you thought had potential to be a club?”

Anthonio straightened his sleeves. “I've been in the business for a long time, Sergei. This place has a lot of potential. Of course, it will need to be worked on but I see a vision.”

“Right.” He nodded and swiped the glasses from his face. His eyes darted around the large room, across the boxes, like he was looking for something and when he looked in my direction, I ducked behind the box just in time.

“Well….” He trailed off. “If you say so, Anthonio. You know better.”

The way he said those three last words, something doesn't sit right with me.

“Would you like a tour?” Anthonio suggests, his arm gesturing to the rest of the warehouse.

Sergei grunts in response. “This place looks like it's going to fall through any minute now. Where did you find this place?”

“Online.” Anthonio replied. “It's a pretty decent deal.”

I watched intently as Sergei took two steps around Anthonio and glanced at the walls, hands tucked behind his back. I kept my eyes focused on Anthonio. Any second now, he should say the signal for us to move in.

Blood roars in my ears. He's so close to me and I just want to blow his damn head off.

“Sergei, we would make good business partners.”

All of a sudden, the warehouse came alive. My gun is drawn along with more than twenty other people in the room including Anthonio as we all aim at Sergei who's now glancing around at us.

“But not good enough.” Anthonio spits.

Then suddenly, Sergei started laughing, bellowing off the walls. I tried my hardest not to just pull the trigger but Sergei deserves to be tortured first.

“It's funny how you took me for a fool, Anthonio. Of course I knew what you were planning.” Sergei eased on the laughter and returned to that cold and gloomy voice. “I knew you'd try something dumb like this but I didn't think you'd be dumb enough to actually go ahead with it.”

Anthonio growled in his direction. “You're dead, Sergei.”

“You don't want to do that.”

“And why the hell not?” I bellowed and Sergei turned his head in my direction. “Ah, Álvaro. Of course I knew you'd be here.”

I resisted the urge to spurt some sick insults at him.

Anthonio prodded the gun against Sergei's temple. “Again, I wouldn't do that.”

He jabbed the gun on the side of Sergei's head but his sick smile never leaves his face. “Why?” Anthonio growled.

“Because I have something that Álvaro wouldn't want to part with.”

I could physically feel my face turn pale and sickly. Santiago stepped closer. “What the fuck are you talking about, asshole?”

Sergei chuckled under his breath. “Bring her in.” He yelled, his voice echoing off the walls sharply.

Outside, the sound of feet protesting against gravel filled my ears. I grit my teeth, preparing for the worst.

My knees almost gave way when I saw two men pulling someone into the warehouse and I realized that the woman between them was Camilla.

Along with the fact that her lips are busted and her eye is bruised, she looked incredibly distressed and my heart lurched towards her. Parts of her clothing were ripped and she's barefoot.

How the fuck has he got her?

Rizzo. What happened with Rizzo and the other of my guards?

A growl escaped my lips and I pointed my gun directly at Sergei's face. I couldn't even look at her because I know she's scared. She's fucking terrified.

“That is why.” Sergei said smugly.

If I thought my blood was roaring before, it's erupting now. That son of a bitch!

I would make sure that this is the last time he ever does something like this.

“What do you want?” I growled.

Camilla is shoved to the ground, unable to keep herself up as her hands are tied behind her back. The next thing I know, a gun is cocked and aimed at the back of her head.

She glanced up and our eyes met for the first time. I felt my throat constrict. I could feel her begging me to do something, anything.

I've never felt this useless in my entire life. I should've left her back in Spain. At least she'd have been safe but I was so fucking selfish!

Fuck!

My heart felt like it's been torn out of my chest seeing her like this. But if I act out, she'll get killed.

Think smart, Álvaro. Think smart.

“You make a move and she's dead.” Sergei says, his attention still on me. He smirked at my reaction and stepped forward. “oh no, Álvaro…did you fall for this pretty little whore?”

“Shut the fuck up!” I spat in his direction.

“Lower your guns.” He snarled back. “Or she's dead.”

I took one quick glance at Santiago and we nodded our heads at the same time. My eyes turned to Anthonio, pleading with him not to try anything because we all know Camilla won't make it out alive, not when the barrel of a gun is at the back of her skull.

Thankfully, Anthonio lowered the gun the moment we did.

I needed some quick thinking on how to get us out of this situation.
