Chapter 126 Camilla’s Pov.

Chapter 126 Camilla’s Pov.
“You need to explain what's going on. I'm confused.” My voice echoed through the hallways as soon as we left the room, locking my father inside. I walked next to Àlvaro, his hand holding mine and next to him, Santiago walked calmly, his gaze fixed to the front.

Àlvaro and Santiago together, walking side by side was something I didn't think I would see again. How long was I unconcious? What more have I missed?

We entered what I assumed was the living room and Santiago closed the door after us leaving only the three of us in the space. Àlvaro is still holding my hand, caressing it with his fingers. Santiago removed the jacket from his body with a sigh before turning to look at us.

His eyes lingered on our intertwined hands briefly before looking up to our gazes. “Sooo, does someone want to tell me what's going on here?” I looked between the two, searching for answers.

“We're in a temporary alliance, me and Santiago.” Àlvaro said in a deep voice, following Santiago with his gaze as he leaned his body on the table in the middle of the room.

“Temporary?” Santiago raised his eyebrows with a sneer, resting his hands on the table behind him.

“Don't push your luck.” Àlvaro cut him off with a warning tone and Santiago laughed, shaking his head in surrender.

“What happened in the building?” I asked, my question causing a thick silence in the room. I needed answers. The last thing I remembered was Àlvaro's face before he ordered his men to shoot.

Santiago's face changed and his smile dropped immediately as Àlvaro stared ahead with his face also changed, darkened even.

“The war is over.” Àlvaro said with his gaze wandering around the room. “We won.”

A sigh filled with relief left my mouth. Thank God it's over. I don't want any more blood or death. Not when we can all live in peace.
“But if my father's here,” I began, shifting my gaze from Àlvaro to Santiago who were staring at each other now. “Where's Vincenzo and Anthonio?”

“They're dead.” Santiago replied almost immediately, turning his head to look at me while his words sliced through me in a deep direct voice.

I shifted my gaze to Àlvaro, wanting to see some kind of reaction from him but whatever he was feeling at the moment, he was covering it very well behind an inscrutable mask.

Vincenzo's death felt like a reward, a victory even. After everything he's put us through, I'm glad he's dead. He deserved what he got. But Anthonio, I couldn't help but feel bad for his death even after learning what he did and how he wanted to kill me too himself. He was such a nice guy at the beginning. What changed?

I decided to stay silent, not to pick their wounds. Despite their differences, they were all really tight childhood friends. It was such a pity that Anthonio decided to turn against his friends, leaving only pain and destruction behind.

I shifted my gaze to Santiago. “So you had no part in Anthonio's plan?”

Santiago shook his head as if weighing his words before speaking. “No.” He replied shortly and I nodded. If Àlvaro believes him, I do too.

“And how did Leonardo end up here?”

“My men captured him.” Santiago replied. “He went after you as soon as the shooting started.”

They had answers to all my questions but that didn't make the mess in my head any less. They say it's all over but I don't feel that way, not when my father's here and his life was hanging in the air, depending on the mercy of an unscrupulous man like Àlvaro.

“Now, all that's left to decide is what to do with Leonardo.” Santiago said in an even voice, his gaze resting on Àlvaro and me.

“Leave that to us.” Àlvaro snapped back. “You have no part in this.”

“As you wish.” Santiago nodded, pushing himself off the table as he headed towards us. “You can stay here until you're done with him. Then I'm expecting a call about that conversation you promised me.”

Àlvaro simply nodded, keeping the room quiet. Santiago headed to the door but stopped in his tracks right in front of it and turned around. His gaze fell on us and then a slight, almost invisible smile settled on his lips.

“Oh and congratulations.” He said and it took me a second to understand what he was talking about but when his gaze dropped to my stomach, it became clear and my face turned red. I felt Àlvaro's arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him. “I'm happy for you two, really.”

He looked sincere, with no single trace of bad thoughts behind his eyes. That warmed me from the inside. Maybe we can forget about the past and go back to being friends once again.

“Thank you Santiago.” I said in a soft voice and his smile grew bigger, his face softened and that was the last thing I saw from him before he left the room.

Àlvaro barely waited for the door to close before he attacked me with kisses, his lips crashing in sync against mine. He slid his tongue into my mouth as he held me close to him by the waist. His lips roamed every part of my face as if he was trying to memorize the curves of my face with his lips.

My face burned as his lips trailed down my neck leaving wet and hot trails after them. It felt like ages ago since I had him so close. My body is so responsive to him, craving more and more.

I thought he would stop at my neck with his kissed but I was left shocked when he knelt down in front of me and placed his hands on my stomach, showering it with kisses through the material of my clothes.

I clung to his big shoulders for support but I still felt dizzy. I've always felt that way around Àlvaro.

“I'm sorry you had to find out the way you did.” I whispered and his eyes met mine. “I thought I would never see you again. I thought—”

“Stop, Camilla.” His sharp voice made me swallow my words. Àlvaro placed one last kiss on my stomach before rising to his feet.

His muscular figure hovered over my small one and his hands found my cheeks, cupping them in his palms, stroking them with his thumb as his eyes scanned every little detail of my face. “I would never give up on you, Camilla. Don't you fucking get it? How can I explain to you that every single part of me is obsessed with you? I'd rather die than live a day without you by my side. I would turn the world upside down, kill anyone who dares to stand in my way but in the end, I'll get to you.” He murmured against my lips, his forehead resting against mine. My entire body melted, hearing his confession.

“You're the reason my fucking heart started beating again. Call it obsession, selfishness, a sickness, whatever you want. I just know you're the only real thing in this fucked up world that makes me feel alive again.”

By the time he was done, I was already crying in his arms, unable to contain the happiness that came over my body hearing all these out loud and knowing that everything we went through was worth it because it brought is right to this moment.

I pulled him down by the neck into another kiss, the warmth of his lips making me feel hot. I've lost myself so deep in Àlvaro and I knew there was no way out but I didn't care. I don't want a way out. I just want him.

“Just us.” I gasped breathlessly, resting my forehead against his. I took his hand, sliding it down to my stomach and he placed it gently on top of it, barely holding back a smile. “Just the three of us.”

“Just the three of us against the world, baby.”

I kissed him over and over again, feeling him smile in the kiss. I lost myself in our kiss even though I knew that nothing was over yet, not when Leonardo was still in the picture but right now, I didn't want to think about it. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Now, I'm completely absorbed by Àlvaro Castillo but I think I've been since the moment his eyes met mine for the first time.
