Chapter 112 Camilla’s Pov.

Chapter 112 Camilla’s Pov.
My endless attempts to break away from this room were unsuccessful. The room was locked and secured well enough to make sure I would rot in here if they wanted me to. It was freaking pointless to fight at this point.

But still, giving up?

That wasn't me. I'll die trying rather than surrender.

I was locked alone in this room after Santiago's visit. He was more than happy to see me in this helpless position.

My nightmares are turning into a reality and my weakness once again played a bad sick joke on me.

My feelings too.

My feelings for Àlvaro are the reason I'm in this situation in the first place. If I had just let my father kill him, none of this would've happened but I couldn't. Even now, if I have to go back, I would do the same thing. I would suffer more myself than to let him die. Feelings are weaknesses and my feelings for Àlvaro are the biggest ones.

While my thoughts were occupied by Àlvaro and as if they turned into reality, He busted into the room and his eyes found mine immediately.

I took a few steps back, hitting the wall from behind. My eyes were glued to his dark features as his eyes darkened even more, lowering down on my body, hidden behind nothing but a long white shirt.

For a second, I saw his eyes soften as he looked at me but he quickly covered it up by moving his gaze away from me.

But I couldn't take my eyes off him. I was hypnotized.

But then, my attention was torn from him as two men dressed in black walked through the door, throwing a man to the ground and he landed close to Àlvaro's feet.

I couldn't see much except that his hands and legs were tied with a rope. The pain he felt could be heard in his groans, echoing through the room and when he rolled to the side, I froze in place.

The man lying on the ground and tied with a rope was none other than Anthonio.

Àlvaro gave him a fast look, his eyes devoid of emotion before he moved his gaze to me and his lips curled into a wicked grin, making my stomach turn upside down.

Only the devil can look this good right before he takes your soul.

“Time to play a little game, chica.” He mumbled, his voice dark and deep giving me goosebumps before moving his gaze to Anthonio tied on the ground. “And Anthonio will be our guest of honour.”

Àlvaro's Pov.

“You're one dumb motherfucker, Àlvaro.” Anthonio tried to laugh but it was interupted by a wince full of pain causing him to hiss. “I'll never forgive you for this. For betraying me. I'm your fucking family!”

“Family?” It was my turn to laugh.

Did Anthonio just try to gakm empathy from me by using the so-called word, family against me? I laughed in his face even more now.

Family? The more I think about those words, the more I conclude that I don't even know what it means.

My father made sure I've got blood on my hands at a very tender age, ripping away my innocence the moment I pulled the trigger. I've killed innocent people because my father ordered it. He turned me into the killer I was today. He turned me into one of the pawns in his sick games.

My real mother. Well, I don't know her. I just know she's dead. My father didn't talk about her at all but the rumors I kept hearing were painful enough to make me dig deeper and find the ugly truth.

He got rid of her the moment she threatened to leave him and tell the world how he makes his money. He murdered her to save his ass.

“You can make this easier on you, Anthonio.” I spoke and I could feel his gaze fixed on me as well as Camilla’s. I bet she's so confused why I had Anthonio on the ground like this but I'll be revealing all the secrets soon. “You can answer my question and in return, I'll be generous enough to let you go scot free.”

He stayed dead silent so I took it as an invitation.

I lowered myself, my eyes meeting his on the same level. I can see the same confusion on his face mixed with how much he despises me right now. And he should be because I won't let him leave this room until I've had my answer.

“Since you like to talk about family, I'll ask you a simple question and I expect a simple answer.” I said through gritted teeth, my blood already boiling as I looked at his confused face nodding towards me.

“Did you help Leonardo orchestrate the attack on the mansion where all of my employees were killed, including a prisoner?” Satisfaction filled my body seeing the self confident smile disappear from his face.

I didn't need to hear it from his mouth because I already knew the answer but it was fun to watch his face filled with horror.

Yes, I did my research. I knew Leonardo couldn't get that sort of access to my mansion without any inside help so I decided to dig deeper. I've been doing my research for some weeks now before I got confirmation that Anthonio was indeed behind it. He covered his tracks by burning the whole mansion to the ground.

I still remember the shocked look on his face when I told him about the attack on the mansion and how many people had died. I almost wanted to laugh at how well he played me then.

I was willing to let it slide. That was how much I valued our friendship but he got the nerve to come on my territory, giving me orders and even Camilla into all of this.

“Chloe.” I heard Camilla’s soft angelic bounce behind me. When I turned to look at her, she looked a perfect mix of angry and scared, staring at Anthonio as she waited for an answer. “You were behind it this whole time?”

Anthonio looked at her, his mouth slightly open as if he was trying to find the right words.

“Oh come on, Anthonio. Don't be shy now.” I shook my head, seeing as he tried to avoid my gaze. Anthonio has always done this when he's guilty. “You usually can't keep your mouth shut but suddenly you do when I ask a simple question?”

“You.” Camilla asked again but this time, it was not as a question, but as a statement. I saw her jaw tighten and her gaze darken, making me smile proudly. That fire in her eyes! She's the strongest woman I've ever laid my eyes on even though she's physically weak right now.

“You're my family, right, Anthonio?” I repeated his words with a sneer and he clenched his jaw. “I bet you knew about Camilla’s background and you were just making a fool of me this whole time.

“Àlvaro.” I didn't even wait for him to finish his words. Hearing his pathetic voice sent me to the edge and I slammed my fist into his face. His head fell against the wall and as soon as I looked down on my hand, I saw blood. I felt better knowing that he was bleeding the same way I was bleeding inside from his betrayal.
