Chapter 77. Going In

Chase

This is the first time I have been to Barrett's place in a while. I try to stay away unless I have to. Joseph has been the one to do the spying and watch his numbers. Finally, we all gear up and are ready to head out. Levi seems like he is ok with me, but I am unsure about Luca. He seems to be more shut off. I know the way I came into the picture was not the best, but I don't want to cause Raine any hardship with either of them. Joseph comes walking up, letting me know he is ready.

"We need to pop in a little away and go in on foot," Joseph says, and he is right.

"Yes, I was planning on it. We need to get in and find out what we can and get out. Barrett may even expect us to do something like this. With him having both of them, he will have more security too, I would think." I tell Joseph.

"Yes, and I don't want to cause any more issues and get back here as soon as possible, so let's get this over with," Luca says as he and Levi come walking up to us. I place a hand on Joseph's shoulder and then Levi's. Luca gives me a side look before placing his hand on Levi's other shoulder.

We come up less than a mile from the main house. We all look around and use our senses, but I don't sense anyone near up. I look to the others to see if they pick up anything, but they all give me a shake of their head to say they don't pick up anything either. I take the lead and start to head in the direction of the main house. I keep every sense open to catch anything. Levi stops and turns behind a large tree and motions for us to do the same. We all take our places behind different trees. I use my powers to mask us so that no one can sense us. Levi points ahead, and I look in the direction he is pointing. Two warlocks are walking in our direction. I can hear them talking to one another.

"I will be glad when this shit is over. I am tired of walking these woods a hundred times a day."

"Yeah, me too, but it could be worse. We could be on prisoner duty. From what I hear, that woman he captured has a big mouth, and she's a spitfire. I heard that she bit one of the guys and almost took his ear off." The second warlock says as he laughs, and I do not doubt he is talking about Emma. What little time I spent with her, I know she is a handful. When they are between the trees that me and Levi are behind, we reach out, grabbing both guys simultaneously. We are both quick and knock them out before they can alert anyone. I nod to Levi and smile, trying to say awesome work without saying it. We all continue on our way. Joseph gets ahead of us and starts to go more to the right. I know he has been here more than me, so I trust his call and follow along the way he is going. I keep an eye on Luca and Levi, making sure they stay with us. I would not want anything to happen to them. Raine would never forgive me, and I just got her back. I won't do anything to jeopardize that. I see the house not far from the tree line. There are a bunch of young kids in the yard area, but they are not playing. They look to be training. Luca and Levi both make their way over to Joseph and me.

"Arnt those some of the boys we rescued from Joseceline?" Levi says, looking at Luca.

"Yeah, the kid over there is Julian. He was the one that led the other kids out." Luca says, and I look to see which kid he is talking about. He seems young, maybe ten or eleven. He has other kids with him, but the younger boys seem to stay behind him. He seems to be their protector. I can see an aura around him. How did Barrett get his hands-on kids?

"Have you seen the kids here before?" I ask Joseph.

"There have been kids, but I have not seen a group this large." He tells us.

"How did Barrett get them if you all saved them?" I ask Luca

"I am not a hundred percent sure, but I am sure that it had something to do with the fact that my dad trusted him. We will have to ask him after we save them." I hope that Luca realizes we will be saving the boys here, too. There is no way I am leaving them here.

"We need to find a way to get the boys away from the guys watching them and check the house for Bastien and Emma," I tell them as I look around for any opening or ideas.

"We need to split up. Joseph has been here before, so me and him can check out the inside. The boys have had contact with Luca before, so he can help you get them out of here." Levi says, and it makes sense, but I'm not too fond of the idea of splitting up.

"Ok, then as soon as you know they are there, get back out here. We will meet here, and all leave together. You have about fifteen minutes to find out if they are inside." I tell them looking at everyone to make sure we are all on the same page. Everyone nodes, and Levi and Joseph are headed around the tree line to try and enter the house on the other side. I look, and two werewolves are supervising the boys. One of the two walks over to one of the boys training and kicks him in the stomach. It takes everything in me not to blow our cover and keep quiet. It looks like Luca is having the same problem.

"Get up, and if you don't train harder, then you won't be eating today. We might not even feed your friends in the basement." The werewolf that kicked him said. So there are more in the basement. That is how they keep them from trying to escape. I look over at Luca, but I can tell he is mind linking, so I figure he tells Levi to check the basement. He finally looks over at me.

"I told Levi they needed to check the basement for dad and Emma, but they had kids there too. How are we going to get them all out?" I don't know that we can, I think as he asks me, but we will try. I look at Luca.

"We need to get the ones from outside safe and waiting, then get the ones from inside. That way, we can get them all at once." I look back to see that the kids look exhausted, and the two idiots look like they are bored. We need to time this perfectly. "We need to time this just right. First, we can take out the two werewolves together. Then I can meet Levi and Joseph in the basement take everyone out at one time. Finally, bring us back right here to meet you and the other boys and leave." I tell Luca he nods then I see that he is linking Levi again.

"They are going to wait on you in the basement. So let's kick some ass." We both start going around so we can come up behind the werewolves. As we get closer, I can see that Luca is going for the one that kicked the little boy. I wish he had let me, but I will give this one to Luca. He looks like he needs to release some aggression. We reach both of them at the same time, and I take mine out easy, but Luca wanted his to suffer a little evidently. He takes him down but kicks him with so much force that it looks like Luca is running and kicking simultaneously. I hope he ends him before he alerts everyone that we are here. I looked to the boys, who looked shocked. I put my finger up to my mouth in a shhh motion, so they know to be quiet and not scream or run. They all listen and stay calm. Luca finally walks back over to me, looking a little better since he kicked the shit out of that guy. The boy that Luca said was named Julian walked over to us.

"Are you here to save us again?" He says, looking at Luca.

"Yes, and this time, I will make sure you stay somewhere safe and try to find your family's deal?" Luca says, sticking his hand out to shake Julian's hand. Julian has a look of relief on his face.

"I will meet the others in the basement. You get them to the meeting place." I tell Luca as he nods in agreement. I think of Joseph and teleport to him.
