Chapter 75. I've Had Enough

The kiss is broken when I hear a woman clear her throat. I look over to see Tasha looking at us with a smile on her face, but she has mischief in her eyes.

"Things must not be too bad in there if yall are out here starting fires." She says with a wink.

"No fires cause if it were, we would have smores," I tell her giving her the same smile back.

"So, how did things go, and where is Chase?" Joseph asks as he walks up with Kane.

"It was poison on whatever cut them. He said if it had only hit one of them, they would already be dead. So Chase went and got Donna, and they are working on them now." I tell him.

"At least it is something that he can help with," Tasha says, and she is right.

"I think I am going to walk in and check on them. See if they need any help. Then, I will be back." I tell them as I make my way back to the hospital. Maybe this will give Levi some time with Tasha and Joseph. Hopefully, he will see what I see in them. I make my way to the rooms to see if I can help, but I stop at the door when I hear Chase talking.

"They should recover now. I have given both of them the antidote. It might take a little time for them to wake up, but that is normal."

"Thank you. We are very grateful for everything. Piper is my life. I could not imagine not having her now that I have experienced life with her," Grayson tells him.

"Yeah, I can imagine. I have not been around Raine long with her knowing we are mates, but I have known for a while and stayed around when I could. I could not imagine anything happening to her. I would give not only my life but the world for her." After Chase is done talking, I take a deep breath, walk closer, and let them know I am there.

"How are things going?" I ask before stepping in.

"Everything is ok now. Just have to wait on them to wake up."

"That's good to hear. I am glad Piper is an extraordinary woman." I say, smiling at Grayson. Before any of us can say another word, we hear the door to the hospital bust open, and we all rush to the door to see what is going on. When we reach the door and enter the hallway, I see Levi running toward us.

"We have to go now."

"Hold on, calm down. Tell us what happened." Chase says before I can respond. I don't think I have ever seen Levi so flustered.

"We have to get back. Your brother took my dad and Emma." He says to Chase but looks at me when he says Emma.

"I am getting tired of people taking my best friend and family members," I say as I look to Chase. If I am not mistaken, there was a look that said he was hurt or embarrassed. I know he did not mean them harm. He wanted to get me alone, but that is not the point.

"We have to go," Levi says again.

"Where are the others? I say as I start toward the doors. I see everyone standing next to the doors as soon as I exit. Chase, Levi, and Grayson are right behind me.

"Ok, We have to head back. Would you like me or Chase to take you home?" I ask Tasha and Joseph.

"What do you mean? We are going back with everyone else." Tasha says as I look to Chase to see what he thinks.

"I would expect nothing less," Chase says, smiling at all of us.

"I will be on my way as soon as Piper wakes up and they are settled," Grayson tells us.

"It's ok. I understand if you can't come. Piper and Brad getting better are the priority right now." I tell him as I hug him. Then I take Chase and Levi's hands, and everyone else grabs on, and we are headed home.

I brought us into the house this time around. The hall seemed like the right place. I can tell by looking at Levi he is mind linking everyone.

"Flo, Luca, and the rest of them are headed here now," Levi says as we all stand there. I look over and see Tasha and Joseph sitting at the table. Sitting sounds good. So much has happened so soon that I am exhausted, mentally and physically. It felt like I had just sat down when I felt sparks fly up my hand and arm. I looked over to see Chase sitting next to me, and he had taken my hand in his. I look into his eyes and exhale the breath I was holding.

"It is going to be ok. We will get them back," Chase tells me as he rubs circles on my hand. I don't say anything back. Instead, I look down to the floor. Then I feel sparks on my other arm, and I look over to see Levi at my side.

"It's ok. We will get this all figured out. Barrett has to know he messed up." Levi says to comfort me. I can feel some of the tension leave my body. I hear the doors open and look over to see Luca, Flo, and Mia walk in. Luca looks mad and frustrated. I want to go to him and tell him it's ok, but when his eyes meet mine, he doesn't look at me long. he seems not to want to talk to me right now. I don't know whether I should give him his space or go to him anyway. He chose for me when he stopped on the opposite side of the table. He didn't even look back at me. He went on to tell us what happened to Bastien and Emma while we were gone.

"So Barrett was with Bastien when Emma went missing?" Levi asked. The look Luca gave him was not good. He was looking at him like, why the fuck are you asking me.

"I guess he was, but I am not sure. When I mind linked him, I know he said Barrett was still with him but anxious. Then no response. But I already told you all this one time." Luca says, and his attitude stinks and is starting to piss me off.

"So Barrett said he will be here at nine in the morning, correct?" Chase spoke up and asked. Luca cuts his eyes to him.

"Yes, YOUR BROTHER said he would be here then. It would be plenty of time for yall to get back."

"He may be my brother, but we are not on the same page or even the same side." Chase shoots back at Luca. There is too much drama and tension and I have had enough of this crap. I jump up out of my seat.

"Everyone out, I need to speak to Luca alone," I say, never letting my eyes leave his. I hear everyone moving toward the door, and I hear the door shut. I finally look over to make sure everyone has left the room. Eventually, we are alone, and I am going to find out what his problem is before we have to fight for Emma and Bastien.
