Fifty eight- No one to Beleive Me
Fifty eight- No one to Beleive Me
Aria’s POV
It is barely 7am and I am already fully dressed to leave the house.
Mum and Jack are going to get home soon and I want nothing else but to be home when they arrive. The scars on my body are enough for now and I don’t need them anymore. They hate it when I am not home on weekends, the only times they get to do all they please with me but right now I couldn't care less what the consequences will be as long as I have the day to myself till it is time to return back here.
I couldn't bring myself to go over to Kael's yesterday and now sadly I must go there today or I would have Alpha Draven to handle and then one way or the other Lev has to talk to me today. This silence is just too much.
‘How are you feeling now?’ Isla's soft voice piped up, breaking my thoughts.
“Feeling much better than I did when I first woke up all thanks to you," I beamed.
‘I am glad to hear that. I am sorry I can't fully heal you but I will keep trying my best to take the pain off you’ She apologized, her voice sad.
‘Come on Isla, you are doing yourself best. The pain is bearable now compared to the twisting and suffocating pain i was feeling earlier’
‘But I should be able to heal you completely like a Normal wolf should’
‘You don’t hear me complaining now, do you?’ I asked softly. ‘We are both going to get through all this together, the moon goddess gave you to me and I believe she knew what she was doing when she did so’
Isla purred appreciatively in my head making sure I felt her happiness and contentment and she felt mine too. Just the two of us against the world and we will be just fine.
I walked through the hallways of the pack house making my way through to the Alpha’s wing. I really wish they stayed more at their house than here where anyone can see me. Lyra walked out a room which I was pretty sure wasn’t hers, her face blank. Her facial expression already reminded me we were still not on talking terms.
“Aria” Lyra greeted curtly, her voice plain and devoid of any emotions. What did I do so wrong to her that changed sweet ever loving Lyra into cold non chalant Lyra?
“Lyra” I called out my voice desperate as she had already started walking away like we weren’t getting somewhere as friends just a few days ago. How do you protect someone from their all-time bully and then go blank on her a few days later.
“You came for my brother right?”
“Yes but…”
“Then go and meet him, please I would love to be left alone” She cut me off waking away before I could stop her. I guess I do have a problem with keeping people around me.
‘Don’t think that way, she will come around, i am sure of that’ Isla encouraged.
‘I hope so’ I sighed. ‘I wish you usually hang around more, it will be less lonely,’ I admitted. She has been here since morning and she has already made my day better.
‘I wish so too, but I am working on it. It is just really exhausting at times like something is draining me with each passing second’
‘I can feel it too, don’t push yourself please. Anyday you are here I would appreciate and I would still make it anyday you aren’t too’
‘Thank you, Aria’ I smiled but it was cut short as soon as I got to Kael’s door and the door flung open revealing a very pissed off Kael, not him too…
“What is this I am hearing about you going to challenge Marissa to a fight at the howl games?” He barked his eyes furious. What suddenly crawled up his ass?
“Of course you would believe I would do such a thing” I sighed, rolling my eyes and making my way into the room.
“And what’s that supposed to mean? You want me to believe what I saw wasn’t true?” He asked like I was going crazy when it was only the other way round.
“You can believe whatever you want, Kael, I don’t care but I do know one thing. I am not stupid to go after anyone no matter what they have to me” I said trying to hide my disgust at his assumption. He just keeps letting me down every single day.
“So what is all this?”
I scoffed, “ you already made your conclusion, why ask me?”
“This isn't the time. For jokes, Aria, this is a very serious case, Marissa is the Gamma heir and an Omega challenging her is a serious issue” he snapped.
I don’t know what pissed me off more the way he spoke to me like all of this is my fault or the fact he also sees me as a mere Omega but I couldn't hold it in anymore.
“And you think I don't know all these?” I shot, finally losing my cool.
“You don't even have the faintest of ideas how scared all of this makes me but what do you want me to do? Run away? Hide away till further notice?” I spat angrily, everyone and jumped into their own conclusions without bothering to find out the truth.
“Do you know the funniest part of everything?... I am more afraid of the fact that someone hates me so much to actually set me up this way than the actual fight with Marissa” I admitted the one thing I had been thinking of since all this happened.
“Someone set you up?”
“Are Alphas always this slow or is it just a you something?” I cocked my head to the side looking at him.
“But why would someone do that?”
His jaw ticked assuring me that he indeed heard what I said and didn't like it but his silence to it also told me he was indeed being serious about this.
“I don't know and honestly I really don't want to know, but I have a feeling I might find out soon enough like real soon”
I can’t explain why but I have a feeling something is coming, and I might just find the answers to my current questions.
