Forty five- Drax

Forty five- Drax
Aria's POV

"Bye guys" I waved as I walked down towards my front porch, keeping a smile plastered on my face until Lev had driven away to a safe distance, both of them clueless of what had gone down this afternoon. I am still in shock from everything that happened, Lyra is more than a darling and I have no idea how she ended up being siblings with my heartless mate.

I don’t know how she made it possible but I didn't take the fall for anything, she made Principal Verya believe it was all her, and no matter how much I begged her to let me take responsibility for my actions she just wouldn't budge. Marissa and her little minions tried their very best to tell Verya the truth but I guess being the Alpha’s daughter does have lots of perks because Lyra and I walked out unscathed.

Lev and Elara kept asking why they had seen me leave the Principal's office but I didn’t want to worry them with my encounter with Marissa so I just kept giving them very vague answers and eventually they let it be thankfully.

Now I am standing in front of the house I once called home dread and anger churning inside my heart. Everything just feels like it is spiraling out of control and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

I was about to take another step forward when a movement in the bushes stopped me dead in my tracks. I held my breath, standing still hoping it was probably all in my head but oh boy how wrong I was.

The bushes rustled again and then a midnight black wolf stepped out, revealing itself. The wolf was beyond huge, the kind only Alphas possessed. Its eyes glowed red with specs of gold and recognition immediately struck me like lightning, it was the same shade I had seen flicker in Kael’s eyes. It didn’t move closer, only stood there chest heaving as if fighting something I couldn't see.

The wind carried it's scent towards me, possessive and familiar. Isla jumped in excitement at its intoxicating scent, chills moving down my spine.

My heart stuttered in my chest, shock engulfing me at the words that left my lips, "Drax"

It purred softly, the satisfaction from hearing its name was evident. Isla knew its name, but how?

"That's your name right?" I asked softly, and all traces of fear left me. It nodded, its eyes softening as it took another step closer probably noticing my growing comfort.

I stretched my hands urging it to come forward again so I could touch it and it didn't hesitate. Once my hands sank into its soft thick fur, it sighed in content snuggling into me like it had been waiting for this moment.

My heart raced in excitement, the feeling flooding my senses. For a brief moment, I wondered if Lev's wolf, Bane, ever made me feel this way, I have seen his wolf countless times but I never felt anything out of the ordinary like the trembling pull that is spreading through my chest now. The inexplicable ache that pulled on my insides.

This feeling is out of control. It is gentle or human. It is wild. Ancient. And it terrified me how much I wanted more.

I have always known wolves and their humans don't exactly share the same personalities and mindset and if I have come to understand anything about Kael’s feelings towards me then he is in no way in control of what is happening right now, which only makes things even more confusing and complicated between us.

I stroked its fur calmly, humming silently, and suddenly it perked up, it's ears twitching in awareness, which startled me a little. To my greatest surprise, I could feel its remorse for scaring me without even having to say a word as its eyes scanned our environment.

Once it seemed like it had gotten what it wanted it looked back at me, the softness in its eyes now gone replaced by something I couldn't fully understand.

It nuzzled its nose into my neck taking a large whiff and then without any warning it was gone, leaving me to bask in the trail of its intoxicating scent and the feeling of the warmth it provided.

Isla whimpered at the loss of contact, retreating like she never showed up in the first place. I couldn't tell why but a feeling of emptiness and loss filled my hollow heart.

"Aria, if you don't come inside this minute I will show the whole pack are worthless you are" Mum’s voice came from inside the house, pulling me back to reality. The malice and hatred in her voice stung, someone would think even after all these years I would be used to how she treated me but it feels the same every single time. Now I understand why it left, Alpha’s and their strong senses.

"Coming" I yelled back, my eyes still looking around hoping to catch a final glimpse of Drax but it was obvious he was already long gone, almost like he was never here....

Where does this place Kael and I now? Would this even mean anything for us or would things still remain as it is, after all it was Drax who came not Kael....but this still clears something up, Kael may not want me but his wolf certainly does. This discovery gives me hope, maybe things may just be different than I thought.
