Chapter Thirty-Four

Kyla's POV

I was rooted on the spot. Unable to think, speak, look or talk. I just stayed there and did literally nothing. I could feel his lips moving against mine, I knew how good it felt and how amazing he tasted but I just couldn't react.

"Well, I don't..." His words kept ringing in my ears. He didn't want things to go back to what they were before and then he kisses me. What does that mean? What does it mean?

Joanna has feelings for him and he's kissing me. Oh my God, Richard is kissing me. I groaned against his lips apparently giving him the illusion to take things further deepening the kiss.

The second I felt his tongue in me, I literally exploded. I couldn't think about any other thing except for the fact that he's kissing me and I'm enjoying it and wanting more.

After a while, he pulled away gently biting on my lower lip as he did. I exhaled trying visibly to catch my breath taking in his demeanor. He had a smug look on his face for some reason. I looked away immediately and his hands went to my chin forcing me to stare at him.

"Hi..,” he says out of the blue with a silly smile. I choked on a laugh before giggling, staring at him.

"So..." I huffed out biting on my lips.

"Soo…” he repeated dragging the word. I played with the tip of my fingers feeling nervous as hell.

"Kyla..,” he called out, I snapped my head upwards immediately.

"What did you want to talk about again?"

He asks and I gulped. He can't be serious.

"I've said all I wanted to say I guess."

"Alright so what's next."

"Nothing. I go back to my average boring life."

"You're not boring,” he interjected.

"Alright then. I'll go back to what I was doing before."

"Ohh…” he said like he wanted to say more but was stopping himself.

"What about Ryder and Tony?"

"What about them?" I asked sincerely confused.

"You don't have feelings for either one of them?"

"Ryder and I were friends but that was a long time ago, and Tony, I don't have feelings for him. He just helped me along the way."

"Ohhh, that's great."

I furrowed my brow slightly perplexed.

"I mean it's great because umm... It's just great I guess no particular reason."

"Ohh, okay,” I said, nodding my head slightly. "So are we going to talk about the kiss or just act like it never happened,” I blurted out. "Was I that bad or..."

He gasped, clearly shocked. "No!" he exclaimed making me smile. "You were amazing. I just didn't want to rush things and all.."

"Well you kissed me out of the blue."

"I know."

"So..."

"I don't know,” he exhaled looking away.

"You just felt the need to kiss me for no reason?"

I asked feeling slightly pained.

"No, that's not it."

"Then why..."

"Kyla..."

"Richard…” I countered; he raked a few fingers through his hair before gazing at me.

"I don't know why I kissed you. I just couldn't control myself. I wanted..."

"Want? Desire? Urges? That's all this was?" I asked for clarification. The lump in my chest was getting bigger by the second.

"Kyla..."

"It's alright. I get it. Really, I do. I'm glad I could clear everything up between us. I have to get going now. I'll see you Richard." I got up and he tried to hold me back.

"Kyla..."

"I can't do this right now. Like I said, I just want my old life back and you kissing me makes that plan a bit messed up and you don't even know why you did it, so I'll just leave you to your thoughts then. By the way, Joanna likes you if that helps with your confusion."

"Kyla, I don't..."

"Goodbye Richard." I quickened my pace and walked away before he could utter another word.

"I'm so stupid,” I cursed mentally.

"Well it was fun while it lasted, it's time to go back to factory default,” I muttered to myself although no matter how hard I try, I can never go back to the old Kyla. Something changed. A lot changed. I'll just have to wait and see how much that change influences me.
