Chapter 688 Do You Think I Want to Watch It?
Chapter 688 Do You Think I Want to Watch It?
Yolanda: You think I wanted to watch? Weren't you the one who dragged me here?
But she couldn't appear too jealous, so she forced a smile: "I won't tell anyone, don't worry."
Paxon nodded politely: "Good. The race is over. I'll have someone take you back later. Victoria hasn't had dinner yet, so I'm taking her out to celebrate."
Hearing this, Yolanda was so angry she nearly saw stars.
Was Victoria all Paxon cared about?
Had he forgotten that she hadn't eaten either?
She gritted her teeth and forced a smile: "Okay, you two go ahead. I need to get back to the hospital to see my dad."
Victoria looked at Yolanda's fake expression and smiled: "Didn't Ms. Sharp just ask me for an autograph? Now that you know I'm number 18, do you still want it?"
"Of course I do. I just didn't process it right away. Could you sign one for me?"
Yolanda handed over her little notebook.
A flash of coldness crossed her eyes.
Victoria signed with a flourish and handed it back to Yolanda: "You'd better keep this autograph safe. If I ever make it to the top of the racing world, it'll be worth money."
Yolanda couldn't help clenching her fist: I don't believe you have what it takes.
While they were talking, Kieran ran over.
"Victoria, if some jerk hadn't cut me off halfway, I definitely would've beaten you."
Victoria smirked: "A bet's a bet."
"No way, I want a rematch. I'll beat you one day."
Paxon looked at him coldly: "Kieran, I'm still standing right here. Watch your tone."
Kieran didn't care: "Now you're worried? Well, do you know that I've been the one with Victoria for the past three years? We're known as the perfect couple on campus."
"Keep dreaming."
Paxon kicked Kieran's thigh, his eyes full of coldness: "You think you're good enough to steal my wife?"
"Paxon, what century is this? You want to tie Victoria down with some arrangement made by our elders? She has the right to choose her own happiness. If you've got the guts, compete with me fairly. If Victoria chooses you in the end, I'll even call you daddy."
Kieran was fearless like a newborn calf, even though he knew Paxon was not someone to mess with.
He'd always been like a king, above everyone else.
He was smart, capable, and had a way with words.
The type all girls liked.
But Kieran wasn't afraid, because he understood Victoria—she wasn't someone who would accept being bound by a family arrangement.
As long as she had the freedom to choose, who would end up as her husband was still up in the air.
Seeing how confident he was, Paxon's lips curled coldly.
"I gave you three whole years and you still couldn't win her over. You think you still have a chance?"
Kieran shot back: "You grew up with her and you still haven't married her. Compared to you, what are my three years?"
Facing his challenge, Paxon didn't get angry.
Instead, he bent down and looked deeply into Victoria's eyes: "Dummy, next time pick friends with better brains. If the country ranked people by IQ, your friend here would probably need government assistance."
Victoria glared at him: "Can you not be so mean? He's just straightforward. He's actually really kind."
Paxon smiled and pinched her cheek: "You're the kind angel here."
"Paxon!"
Victoria punched him lightly.
Her lips pouting, looking both annoyed and adorable.
Paxon rubbed her head, coaxing her gently: "Okay, okay, I'll stop teasing you. I'll take you for a nice meal later, okay?"
Victoria looked up at him with a mischievous expression: "I want to go to Sycamore Avenue for barbecue, fried chicken, and grilled meat."
Paxon dotingly kissed her forehead: "Baby, if you eat all that greasy food, how am I supposed to kiss you later? Maybe I should get my advance payment now."
He held Victoria's chin and leaned down to kiss her.
Victoria immediately stopped him: "Paxon, if you dare kiss me again, I'll never talk to you again."
Watching them flirt, Yolanda was so angry her face turned red.
She really couldn't stand it anymore. If she stayed one more minute, she felt like she'd cough up blood from anger.
She glanced at Kieran, who also looked angry, and said quietly: "Mr. Harvey, if you want to win Victoria over, how about we team up?"
Kieran looked at her with contempt: "Who are you?"
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is I can help you get Victoria."
Seeing her confidence, Kieran's lips curved into a sly smile: "Sure, I'd like to see what you can do. Let's go, I'll give you a ride."
He glanced at Paxon defiantly: "Paxon, don't get too cocky. One day, I'll show you what I'm made of."
Paxon turned around, looking at him casually: "Go home and have your mom give you some brain supplements. Maybe you'll get smarter. Though with your current IQ, you'd probably need them for life."
Kieran clenched his fist in anger: "Just you wait."
With that, he pulled Yolanda's hand and left.
Watching them leave, Victoria was a bit surprised: "Why is he holding Yolanda's hand? Are they close?"
Paxon tapped her head: "What, jealous?"
"Stop talking nonsense. I'm worried that Yolanda is scheming and Kieran will fall for her tricks."
"Don't worry, that kid's not a complete idiot."
Yolanda got into Kieran's car, and as soon as they drove off, she asked with a smile: "Mr. Harvey seems pretty angry. Looks like you have deep feelings for Ms. Cross. Too bad you probably don't have much of a chance."
Kieran glanced at her: "I'm not here to listen to your sarcasm. Say what you have to say."
Seeing his straightforward personality, Yolanda couldn't help smiling: "I have a plan that can help you get Victoria."
She leaned close to Kieran's ear and whispered a few words.
After hearing the plan, Kieran looked at her in disbelief: "You're sure this will work?"
Yolanda smiled confidently: "One hundred percent sure. I know Paxon very well."
"Okay, as long as I can get Victoria, I'll do anything."
A few days later.
Paxon received a call from Yolanda. Her voice was choked with tears: "Paxon, my dad's having surgery today. The doctor said if it fails, he might not make it out of the operating room."
Hearing this news, Paxon immediately stood up: "Wait for me, I'm coming right now."
As soon as he arrived at the hospital, Yolanda threw herself into his arms crying.
Her face covered in tears: "Paxon, my dad's surgery only has a ten percent chance of success. If he dies, what am I going to do all alone?"
Just as Paxon was about to push her away, Victoria suddenly appeared.
