Chapter 74 LXXIV.

Chapter 74 LXXIV.
Isadora's POV.

Instead of driving us home, I steered my car into the parking lot of one of the nicest boutiques in town. Trisha is going with me to Ethan's party and I have to make sure she looks good.

Actually, Trisha is already really pretty. She just doesn't take herself seriously and that kind of sucks. Soon, I would be going on that business trip with my parents. At least we're going to do something fun together before leaving.

"We are here," I announced smiling at Trisha as I undid my seat belt.

Trisha frowned looking at the place in confusion. "What are we doing here Izzy?"

I smiled innocently knowing she never likes to shop. Not just because she couldn't afford it, but she also doesn't like it when I buy her things. And that sucks as well, because I want to provide my best friend with everything she needs in this world. She definitely deserves it.

"We here for shopping for outfits to wear to Ethan's party tonight."

She blinked and immediately shook her head. "I can wear something I already own. You don't need to buy me a new outfit."

I pouted, "but I want to Trish. It's my way of making it up to you."

"But Izzy—"

"No arguments, Trish. We are going shopping and if you refuse, it'll make me feel bad." Trish shoulder slumped, but she said nothing more. I smiled sweetly and kissed her cheek. "You're the best Trish."

Her cheeks was all red as we climbed out of the car she hurried after me and we walked side by side into the building. As usual, my best friend was once again nervous and fidgety. She gets like this when forced to be in an enclosed space with people.

Inside the boutique, she froze. Everything looked expensive. I have to make sure the price tag are hidden away from her, because if she knows how much the clothes cost, she would never let me buy them for her.

"Izzy, this place looks too expensive. Can we just go somewhere else?" She said in a pleading tone.

"We don't need to. It's not like I can't afford it."

"But... But..."

I held both side of her cheeks and she stared at me through her glasses with big blue eyes. I smiled, "relax Trish. I want to do this for you, so you shouldn't feel bad or conflicted. It's my money isn't it?"

Before she could protest again, I turned and smiled at the sales attendant. "Hi! Could you help us find an outfit for her?"

The attendant beamed. "Of course, this way please."

Before Trisha could escape, she was whisked away toward the fitting rooms with an armful of clothes.

The next hour was probably one of the most entertaining hours of my life. Every few minutes, the curtain would slide open and Trisha would step out wearing different outfits. She looks incredibly good in everyone of them and I couldn't help but admit that my best friend is a real beauty. She just needs a little confidence.

The more outfit the tries on, the more compliment I throw at her and the more shy she becomes. She gets so flustered when complimented, but she seriously has to start taking herself seriously. Trisha is really gorgeous.

She walked out wearing fitted black skinny jeans, a white crop top layered beneath a stylish jacket, and a pair of ankle boots, and I swear at that very moment, I was blown away by her looks. She looks really good. The jacket was unbuttoned to show off her flat stomach and pale skin.

I couldn't help smiling like a maniac at the sight of her.

"What about this?" She asked nervously as she fidgetted with her fingers.

I stood up and approached her in slow deliberate steps. "Trish, you're making every outfit look unfairly good."

She blushed and looked away. "It's... It's not me. I guess the clothes are pretty."

I tilted her chin so our eyes could meet again. Blue and green. Even beneath her glasses, her eyes lighten up. "It's you Trish. You're really beautiful, you know that?"

She blushed madly and took a step back away from me. "Stop teasing me Izzy. I know you don't really mean that."

I frowned a bit hurt, "of course I do Trish. I'm being serious right now. You really are beautiful." Her ears turned bright red and I chuckled before adding. "That's probably why George can't get his eyes off you."

She stared at me with a confused frown. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well, I'm just saying George is over protective of you."

She shrugged, "he's my friend."

I scoffed, "oh please Trish. Friends are never that overprotective. I think he likes you."

Her frown deepened and she looks weirded out. "I don't think so Izzy. George doesn't like me. We are just friends."

I tilted my head with a smile. "And what if he does? What if one day he admits and tells you that he really does like you."

She bit her lips in thought while I waited anxiously for her answer, although I had no idea why I was anxious.

"I don't think I'll accept it. I don't like George like that. He's not my type."

"Woah Trish, I never expected that." I grinned surprised at her words. "George is a guy that's both cute and hot. Why isn't he not your type."

She pushed up her glasses and avoided my eyes. "Actually, he's the exact opposite of my type."

It was my turn to be confused. "What does that mean? Do you mean ugly chubby guys?"

She stared at me in disbelieve and I laughed. "No Izzy... I don't think you would understand anyway. I better go change."

I know it's wrong, but I was relieved that Trisha doesn't like George. I would hate for anyone to take my best friend away from me. I certainly do not want that person to be George.

After trying on many outfits, we were finally done and I said to the attendant. "We're taking all the outfits Trisha tried out."

Trisha's eyes nearly popped out. "What?" She grabbed my arm. "That's too much Izzy. It's too expensive. I don't think I can accept it."

"Well, you have to Trisha. If you don't accept it I would take it that you're holding a grudge and still haven't forgiven me for what my friends did to you."

She sighed tiredly, "but Izzy you know I was never mad at you in the first place right?"

I smirked and leaned closer. "Prove it then. Take my gift and I'll fully accept that you have forgiven me."

She sighed, but I could already see her resolve crumbling. "Fine, I'll take it."

"You're the best!" I side hugged her and turned to the attendant. "Please pack it up for us."

Once the attendant left to go get the clothes, Trish wrapped her arms around me. "Thank you Izzy," she whispered.

I hugged her back tightly. She'd thanked me for the clothes. But somehow it felt like I should've been the one thanking her.

For putting up with a friend like me who didn't deserve her. Then and there, I silently promised myself that from now on I'd do a better job of protecting the friend who always stayed by myself.
