Chapter 83 Wedding day 2
~After three weeks~
In the large chapel hall, there were numerous people from all around the state, seated to witness Arthur get married to Aurora.
The highly decorated chapel was full to the door with people of class and caliber. In the front seats were Carter and his husband, Jimmy, Theo, Jack and Rachel, who happened to be close people to the couples.
Arthur stood in front with the priest, his side turned to them as he waited for his bride. Josh, who was also dressed in a white suit and trouser, stood behind Arthur as his best man.
Carter and Derick constantly exchanged looks happily, waiting to see how beautiful Aurora looked.
And just then, the large chapel doors opened. The loud sound of the door opening made everyone turn to look at the doors.
Then the boys, three of them dressed in the same suit, walked in, causing the people to burst into laughter.
Ryan carried a pillow which the rings were attached to, Riley carried a basket of petals which he began to drop right from the door, and lastly, Rowan carried a sign which hung on his neck.
The sign read; “Daddy, here comes the love of your life”.
The boys showed happiness and enthusiasm as they walked down the aisle. Everyone kept clapping until they got to their positions.
After that, they all looked back again, expecting the bribe. And as they had expected, the door began to open again.
After the door was fully opened, Aurora appeared in a flowy, off-white dress, which had lots of embellishments on it. In her hand were flowers, which she held with her two hands.
Because she had no one to be her father to her, she had to walk down the aisle alone, and so she did, with a large smile of happiness underneath her veil.
As she slowly walked down, with the weight of the dress slowing her down, she kept her eyes on Arthur, who was staring down at her from the altar.
As she approached, tears heated the back of Arthur’s eyes before he knew it. She looked seraphic under the veil. He gulped hard and lowered his head, trying to push back his tears.
He raised his head again and cleaned the bottom of his eyes with his finger.
Aurora drew closer and closer, the cheering and clapping of the crowd filled her ears so much, she could hardly hear the music that played underneath.
“Go get it, girl!” Carter yelled, and Aurora broke into laughter immediately as she recognized his voice. Without turning her gaze from the altar, she got there.
Arthur stretched out his hand to her, and she accepted it with a wide smile. He helped her up the altar and they both moved closer to the Priest.
Then, the priest took over;
“We have come together in the presence of God to witness the joining together of this man and this woman in the bond of marriage. The sacred relationship of marriage was established by God in creation, and it is commanded in the Scripture to be held in honor by all people.
“It is at once one of man’s greatest blessings and also one of his most awesome responsibilities. Marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but soberly and deliberately and in reverent fear of God.”
As he said these words, the congregation kept nodding in agreement and understanding, while the couple's heads were bowed.
“Now, please hold hands.” He further said to them, and they both held hands.
“Mr Arthur, do you intend to take this woman whose hand you hold to be your lawfully wedded wife; and do you pledge before God and man to love, honor and to protect her through sunshine and shadow alike; keeping yourself unto her alone until death separates you? If so, answer “I Do”.
“I do.” Arthur answered almost immediately, and the priest turned to Aurora to repeat the same words.
“I do, Priest.” She answered too.
“Now to the vows. Mr. Arthur, repeat after me. I, Arthur, take you Aurora, to be my wife to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish excluding all others as long as we both shall live. With God as my witness, I give you my pledge.”
After Arthur repeated these words, the priest and Aurora did the same thing.
Then the both picked up the rings and placed it on their fingers, according to the instructions of the Priest.
“Now, before the pronouncement, I have one important question to ask so we can fulfill all righteousness.
“Should anyone present know of any reason this couple should not be joined in Holy Matrimony, speak now, or forever hold your peace.”
As the pastor spoke, everyone began to look around to see if there was anyone.
“I’ll say it one more time. Should anyone present know of any reason this couple should not be joined in Holy Matrimony, speak now, or forever hold your peace.”
Suddenly, a hand sprouted from amidst the crowd, followed by a feminine voice.
“They shouldn’t be together!”
Everyone turned to look at where the voice came from, and when she stood up, Arthur’s eyes widened.
“Anita?” He called in shock.
With a grin on her face, she stood up and walked out of the chairs.
“Please come forward and let us hear you.” The priest uttered, but Arthur shook his head.
“No, Priest. She has nothing to say. She’s just here to cause trouble. Let’s just ignore her.” Arthur uttered as he felt anger rising inside him.
“We can’t just ignore her. The people and God need to know what is going on.” The priest answered, and murmurings filled the air as he watched Anita walk out majestically.
“What the hell is wrong with this girl? When will she stop being a pain in the arse?!” Derick uttered angrily, and Carter hastily held his hand, trying to keep him calm.
Aurora’s heart began to beat very fast and she stared intensely at Anita from underneath her veil.
‘What does she think she’s doing?!’ She screamed in her head.
“Let’s hear you, Ma’am.” The priest said after she got to the front.
“Thank you, Priest.” Anita answered as she turned to face the congregation. “These two cannot be joined in Holy Matrimony because I am carrying the groom's child!” She yelled, and suddenly, shutter sounds filled the air.
Reporters and media coverage rushed into the hall and began to take pictures.
“What is going on?! Where did they come from?!” Everyone in the chapel began confused and unsteady. They all began to murmur, yell and some even tried pushing out the media coverage Anita prepared to cover her moment.
“What that hell are you talking about?” Arthur pushed her back, his hands shivering in fury, but all Anita did was laugh.
“You don’t remember or you want to deny that amazing sex we had before I left your house?! How you were all over me in my room!”
Hearing this, Aurora couldn’t take it anymore. She pulled Anita by the arm and threw a resounding slap at her face.
“I won’t let you come here and ruin my wedding. Get out before I pounce on you!” Aurora yelled with tears rolling down her eyes.
“Oh please! The only reason why I haven’t pounced on you is because I don’t want to hurt Arthur’s baby. Here…” She pulled out her phone, scrolling through it for a short while and gave it to Aurora.
“See?! I’m not lying!”
With tears in her eyes, she saw Arthur naked on top of Anita, having sex with her. Aurora’s hands began to shiver, and her breathing grew intense as she watched the video.
It was like a spear went through her chest and pierced her heart deeply. She couldn’t believe it. Just when she thought she finally had him, she lost him again. On her wedding day!
The phone slipped off her hand, and Arthur hastily grabbed it so he could see what she had seen. Seeing this, his eyes widened in shock. He couldn’t recall sleeping with her at all.
“Aurora… this… this.. isn’t…” While he stuttered in confusion, Aurora threw her flower at him and broke into tears.
“I trusted you! You made me fall in love with you again, and what do I get?! Embarrassment and disappointment!” She yelled as she yanked the veil off her head and revealed her ruined makeup.
“No… no! Aurora!” He called as she lifted her dress and started running to the exits.
“What have you done!” He grabbed Anita, but people around quickly stopped him from hurting her.
“I’ll go after her!” Carter yelled, running after Aurora, but as soon as he got out, he saw her get into a car, which zoomed off without hesitation.
“Sht.”
