Chapter 103 The end
~After A week~
While Aurora slept, she perceived the strong smell of pancake in her nostrils. She shook her head, furrowing her brows while her eyes were still closed.
“Aurora.” She heard her name in a whisper, and this was when she slightly opened her eyes. Very close to her face was Arthur’s face, which had a large smile on it.
“Good morning beautiful.” He uttered, and she smiled faintly, rubbing her eyes with her hands.
“Good morning.” She mumbled, her eyes falling shut again.
“I made you breakfast.” He added, and her eyes opened again. She looked down at his hands and saw a tray with him. He wore an apron on his singlet and black pants.
“You did? I can smell pancakes.” She answered with a smile, and he nodded.
“These are the fastest things I can make.” He responded, and she broke into laughter.
“Baby, you didn’t have to. You shouldn’t stress your leg, remember?” She answered, sitting up and collecting the tray of pancakes from him.
“My leg has gotten better, okay? I don’t even need the chair anymore.” He answered boldly.
“True. But, you are still leaping. Which means you still feel slight pain, right?”
“Darling, I’m fine, okay?” He answered, giving her a reassured nod.
She heaved a sigh and nodded. “Thank you so much for this.”
“Of course! I enjoyed preparing it. The boys helped out too.” He responded happily.
“The kids are all grown now. They do almost everything in the house.” She answered as she took a bite from the pancake.
“Well, Theo didn’t keep them out of his work most of the time. So he had trained them to do a few things in the kitchen.”
“Right. I bet they miss him already.”
“Trust me, they do. When we were in the kitchen, they kept calling his name, telling me how many things he had taught them. At some point, I wished I never discharged him, but then, that would be very selfish of me.”
“Right. He has his own life to live. Don’t worry. They’ll get used to it. And I must confess, this is so nice.” She answered, as she picked the second piece.
“I knew you’d love it. I’m glad you do.”
While he watched her eat, they heard the doorbell ring. They looked at the room door at the same time.
“Are you expecting someone?” She asked him, and he shook his head.
“I’ll go and check it out.” He responded and wanted to stand, but she hastily stopped him.
“No, I should go instead. I wouldn’t want you to stress your leg again.” She uttered as she placed the tray on the bedside table.
“But you are eating. I can get it. I need exercise anyway.” Arthur insisted, but she refused.
“When I was going to work back then, I’d eat donuts when walking on the street. So, eating can’t stop me from getting the door. Wait here.” She answered, making her way out of the room.
As she headed to the living room, the children snuck into the room. They rushed to Arthur’s closet, pulled out a suit and a ring box.
Without hesitation, they wore the suit on him and gave him the ring box. Ryan grabbed a hair brush and quickly brushed Arthur’s hair.
“She’s coming back!” Rowan, who stood at the door the whole time whispered loudly. They hastily shut the closet and ran out of the room.
Arthur grabbed the bed and slowly went on the knee of his whole leg. He faced the door and raised the ring box in the air, waiting for Aurora to come in.
“Baby, you won’t believe there was nobody…” Aurora abruptly stopped talking as soon as she got to the entrance of the room and saw Arthur on his knees.
“Arthur…” Her eyes widened. “What are you doing? Your leg…”
“I know I have done this before, and it ended badly. This is me, doing it again. And I promise you that this time, you won't regret saying yes to me. I promise that on our wedding day, no one would barge in and try to separate us again because we are past that now.
“So please say yes to me, because I have made sure that nothing would interrupt our wedding or marriage ever again!” He uttered with great confidence.
Aurora grinned widely and nodded, moving closer to him. “Yes, I’ll be your wife. Again.” She said to him.
“Again. And again. And again.” He uttered as he pulled the ring out of the box and wore it on her finger.
“Now get up before you damage your other leg.” She responded, helping him get up.
As soon as he was up, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly.
“I love you so much, Aurora.”
“I love you so much too, Arthur.”
“Boys! She said Yes!” He yelled and out of nowhere, the kids ran into the room cheering and screaming.
“Yesssss! We did it!” They yelled happily, catching Aurora unaware.
“Hold on. Hold on. What is going on here?” She asked, looking at them.
“We helped daddy propose again!” Rowan uttered in excitement.
“I think I want to be an event planner when I grow up. I’m so good at this!” Ryan uttered boastfully, standing akimbo.
Aurora broke into laughter and shook her head. “So this was a plan, hun?” She asked, slightly adjusting Arthur’s hair.
“Well, like Ryan said, they are the best planners. They gave me the idea.” He responded with a chuckle.
“So which of you rang the doorbell? Because I’m sure it was one of you.” She uttered, narrowing her eyes at them.
Riley slowly raised his hand in guilt and their parents roared in laughter again.
“I watched the door for them.” Rowan uttered as he didn’t want to feel left out.
“Well, you did a great job too. All of you did. Thank you.” Arthur said to them, and they nodded.
“Well, you haven’t fulfilled your part of the deal.” Ryan replied, standing next to his brothers, and they all nodded, holding their arms on their chest.
“There’s a deal too? What else do I not know?” Aurora asked in surprise.
“Trust me to always fulfill the end of my deal, boys. And I announce that it’s official! We are all going on a trip!”
“Yay!” The kids yelled happily.
“A trip? Sounds fun. To where?” She asked, looking at the kids.
“That is your decision to make. They said we will go anywhere you want to go.” Arthur answered.
“Really? Why me?” She asked again.
“Because we want you to make the decision. We know you won’t choose somewhere boring.” Ryan answered, and his brothers nodded in agreement.
“Well well well, what do you say, Mummy?” Arthur asked teasingly.
“Hmmm… let me think.” She answered, staring into space. “Ha… Yes! Take us to that private resort. The one you took me to after you asked me to be your girlfriend.”
“Really? You want us to go back there?” Arthur asked.
“Yes. It holds some amazing memories I’d love to recreate. Let’s go there boys.” She responded, and they nodded in agreement.
“So be it, then! Let’s pack our bags!” Arthur announced, and the boys ran out of their room to get ready.
“They are so excited.”
“They aren’t the only ones excited. I am too. We wanted to go on this trip before, when you left, but I’m glad we will be going with you.” He held her hand up and kissed the ring on her finger.
“Let’s get married again on the resort. Next to the beach. Just our family.” He uttered, raising his head to look at her face.
“I’m so down for that.” She answered, planting a kiss on his lips.
Getting to the resort, they met with the pastor Arthur had prepared, and he joined them together, declaring them husband and wife right in front of the beach.
After joining them in holy matrimony, the Pastor headed his way, leaving the family to enjoy their stay.
Arthur picked a room next to theirs for the boys, while he and Aurora stayed in the same room they had been the last time they were there.
Aurora made sure the boys were settled in before she went into their room. She met Arthur standing at the balcony of the room.
“Baby.” She called, and he turned to look at her.
“Hello, Wifey.” He called, opening his arms. She wrapped her arms around his torso as they kissed softly.
“How are the kids?” He asked, and she let out a deep breath.
“The kids are very happy. They kept telling me how happy they are that we got married again.”
“Well, we are happy too, aren’t we?”
“We are.”
“So what next?” Aurora asked, letting go of him and walking to the glass railing of the balcony.
“What next? Make more babies, maybe.” Arthur answered teasingly, hugging her from behind and she broke into laughter.
“You’re never serious, hun?”
“I am always serious when it comes to you.” He answered, kissing her ear. She smiled softly, rubbing her head against his.
Suddenly, she felt his bulge poke her from behind, and her eyes popped wide open.
“Arthur! You’re hard!” She whispered loudly, and he chuckled.
“Well, you’re so attractive. What do you expect?” He responded, biting his lower lip seductively.
“So you’re serious about us making more babies?”
“Damn serious! I need two more. Girls this time.”
“Let’s do it then!” She answered, and in a twinkle of an eye, he lifted her.
“Arthur, your leg!” She yelled in laughter.
“Oh please! I’m stronger than you think.” He answered, and then threw her on the bed.
In no time, he began to get rid of his clothes, and just when he reached for his pants, they heard a knock on their door.
“Daddy! Mummy! Let’s go for a swim!” They heard the boys yell, and their eyes widened.
“Erm… Yes. We are… coming.” Aurora stammered in laughter as she got out of bed and threw Arthur’s shirt to him.
“We'll do that later. Let’s go and play in the water.” She responded and rushed to the door. She opened up and saw the boys were very eager to play.
“Let’s go!” They pulled Aurora’s hand and she turned to look at Arthur.
“Come on!” She yelled as they all headed out of the house and ran to the sea barefoot.
They laughed and screamed as they saw a large wave coming towards them.
“It’s going to get you!” Arthur yelled, running towards the kids and they ran to their mother.
“Mummy!” They ran into her and they all fell into the water, laughing heartily.
Arthur stood up from the water and watched them with their mother. An emotional smile crept up his face as he loved what he saw.
“There is nothing more than this. I’ll cherish you forever.”
