Chapter 114:
Chapter 116:
4 Months Later
Alley POV:
I was pacing around waiting for the ladies to hurry up and get here. Tonight was the night for celebration and we were already anxious and excited. We had sitters for all of our children so they could have a little party of their own.
“Are you ready?” Stephan asked. I looked at myself one last time in the mirror. I had decided to wear a white dress with each color of the elements striping down the sides. Something to represent my abilities. My hair was pinned back and was braided on the sides but curled at the bottoms.
“I am.” I smiled. Stephan was wearing a black suit with a tie that represented my elements. His hair was slicked back and I smiled at him.
“You look dapper.” I grinned.
“I’ll look like nothing next to you.” He whispered as he kissed my hand. I felt the familiar blush creep up my neck and to my face.
“Let’s go you two!” Pythia yelled as she walked by the door. I laughed, but followed her. She wore a green dress with a blue belt to match her eyes. Her hair was curled and flowed freely around her.
“Where is Ambrosia?” I asked.
“Right here.” She called out. She wore a red and black dress, she was never really one for bright colors and that was okay. Tonight was not going to be like our other celebrations. There was no need for introductions. Everyone knew who we were. We just wanted a night where the kids could run and play freely and the adults could celebrate the victory.
“Are we all ready?” I asked, looking around at them. Each of them nodded their heads and as we made our way outside I was taken aback by the decorations. My mother truly went all out for this. Lights lined the walkways in different directions and I could hear music in the distance. As we got closer I saw the large canopy neatly decorated with tables and chairs under it. Lights dangled from the top of it and swirled around the arms. Even the floor had lights built into them.
“Alley my dear come here.” My mother called out. I smiled looking at her and my dad. I squeezed Stephans hand before I strolled over to them.
“You look beautiful darling.” My mother whispered as she hugged me tightly. My dad gave me a hug and nodded.
“Mom, you did spectacular with everything.” I beamed.
“Did you ever doubt me?” My mother giggled and I shook my head. Not once, although she did have a habit of yelling at people white setting up.
“Tell your brothers to come see us in a little while. Go mingle with everyone.” My father said shooing me off. I looked around and saw everyone talking and laughing.
“You should really learn to relax.” Lucindas voice called out.
“Maybe once my head starts believing that we can relax for once.” I answered. It was still all very surreal. I knew we didn’t have to worry about anything, but it was still very hard to believe.
“Give it some time.” Ambrosia said. Her and Pythia walked up to me followed by Courtney and the other ladies.
“Maybe in a few years. We have a lot to do and that will keep us occupied.” Pythia smiled. Lucinda hugged them both before she walked off. I noticed Athea was waiting for her in the back and I tilted my head.
“You know she doesn’t like taking attention away from everyone.” Emma whispered. I heard shouting and cheering and looked to see the guys were playing cornhole. It was a game that the humans taught us.
“I know she doesn’t. I’ll talk to her soon. How are you all feeling? Courtney, how is Alcide?” I asked.
“He is good. Currently shotgunning a beer.” Courtney chuckled. I heard more cheers and I looked to see Alcide was standing back up and I shook my head.
“We are all good over here. Everyone is taking the moment to really enjoy themselves.” Emma said.
“I think we are all ready for some normalcy now.” Chloe chuckled. There was still so much work to be done, but that could wait.
“Where is Brandon and Leia?” I asked looking around noticing their absence.
“It’s been hard to get them out of the house for… Reasons. They’ll be here soon.” Pythia winked. I knew exactly what she meant.
“Anyone else thinning of having anymore kids?” Jasmine asked.
“Not at all. I think I have plenty.” I laughed.
“Alcide and I have plans. I can’t wait honestly.” Courtney smiled. I was so happy they found each other. I knew Beth wanted more kids too and Alex was fine with taking in all the adopted kids. Jasper and Jenson just went with the flow of things. They are always happy with whatever.
“Alley, a word?” Atheas voices called out.
“I’ll be back.” I smiled as I back away.
“How are you feeling?” Athea asked. I glanced at her for a moment to see she looked tired.
“Really good. Happy that everything is over with. How are you feeling?” I asked. She took a deep breath,
“I must admit I am tired. All of these battles have had me stressed out.” Athea chuckled.
“What else?” I asked. I knew there was something she wasn’t telling me.
“Not much, I’ve been keeping an eye on Elis world and it all seems… Quiet over there.” Athea finally said. Well that was a good thing. Or at least I thought so.
“Maybe he changed his mind. I’m sure he was watching everything that happened here. Maybe he figured out he needs to behave.” I shrugged.
“Perhaps you are right. I’ll keep an eye on things for a little while longer, but if something does happen I don’t see it happening for a very long time.” Athea said.
“Anyways, I wanted to talk to you about something. I know my realm and yours have always stayed separate, but what if they didn’t.” Athea asked.
“Like we blend them?” I asked.
“Kind of. Those who have died will stay hidden in my realm though. Maybe once a year I could open the vail to visit, but the wolves love it here and they love it in my realm. What if I gave them the freedom for them to move back and forth?” Athea said.
“I think everyone would really love that honestly.” I smiled. I knew the kids loved seeing them and let’s be honest, everyone would relax a whole lot more knowing they were here wandering around. We would just have to let the humans know so they didn’t freak out.
“Then that is what I’ll allow. I’ll trust you’ll let everyone know. I need to get back and make some adjustments.” Athea said. She hugged me tightly before she disappeared. I was left standing outside of the party. As I looked in on everyone all I saw was pure happiness, love and a new beginning. Just thinking of how far each of us has come over the years made my heart swell. We’ve all had our own battles and we came out on top. Now we can focus on what really matters. Our futures. The future we want for our children and learning how to mix and mingle with the humans more than we have. We had so much to offer everyone, and I had a feeling all of our futures were going to shine brightly in so many different ways. I for one am excited to see where this new journey takes us.
The End
Or is it?
