|| VALERIA's POV ||
Three
I blurted, squirming my thighs together to stop the sinful sensation. Despite our hatred, I hated to admit that his punishment unleashed some darker side inside me. My core started throbbing as soon as he slapped my ass cheeks.
This man!! And his sick torture! How did I date him back then?
Tears blurred my eyes but my body told the difference. I was sinfully enjoying every bit of it until another hard slap came without warning.

I blurted through my clenched teeth, burying my head into the pillow. He growled, pinching on my ass cheeks,
" You won't go to work anymore!!"
I whimpered, pressed my lips together,
" I am not your puppet.."
" Ah...", another unexpected slap came as he groaned hissing,
" You don't have the say! You almost lost your life!"
I rebuked even though it was aching on my ass,
" I have! I didn't make any deal with you that I can't work outside. So, I have the final say. I can't be a full time housewife. You know that! I like to be self-independent."
I expected another hard slap for my rude answer. Surprisingly he was silent until he made his conclusion,
" Fine! You will work for me then..in my office..as my worker.."
" NO!!", I denied his offer almost instantly. I was already tired of his torture in the house. I wasn't ready to go to his office to face another kind of punishment again.
SLAP

I counted, letting out a painful wail. He seemed angry this time as he replied like a caged beast,
" Either you work for me.. or you work for no one.."
Did I have a choice now? I needed a job, something to focus on badly. It was impossible to go against his order since last time I made a mistake by accepting Alex's offer.
I mumbled panting, his eyes still glaring down at me,
" You...you aren't lying, right?"
He let out a dark chuckle before whispering into my ears,
" I didn't lie to you when I said that you will be the mother of my children."
Reality kicked me hard as I remembered his words back in our teenage days. He made a promise to me that I would be the mother of his children only. Even though he made it true but it was far different from the sweet feelings that we had.
Shooing the feelings away, I agreed, thinking about my career since I had no way out,
" I..agree..as long as you let me work.."

THE KING INTERNATIONAL
I had always heard this name in discussion. Everyone used to call it big, magnificent until I saw it with my own eyes. It had 23rd floors, unique designs with the shape of rectangular.
Gideon brought me to his office with him the next day. We haven't talked about Alex or those men since last night. I wondered what happened to them. King International reminded me of Gideon's dream. He used to tell me that he wanted to have a big big office. I told him that I wanted to be his princess but he said that he wanted me to be his queen because Queen owned everything including him but Princess owned a small portion only.
His deep voice snapped me out of my daze. Coming back to my senses, I heard him who told me to follow him closely. My steps weakened as I followed him inside. All the staff stood up to greet him which he merely paid attention to. But their eyes froze on me when they saw me getting into his elevator.
The elevator went up to stop on the 23rd floor. His assistant came out to take his suit and gave me a glance. As soon as we reached his office, a brunette came to greet Gideon,
" Good Morning, Sir! I have placed your favorite coffee on your desk."
The woman was beautiful, younger than me. Her eyes held a certain excitement as she spoke to Gideon. It seemed like Gideon had his admirers everywhere. The blonde haired woman looked back at me and her smile faded, replacing it with disappointment. Gideon said some quick words, introducing us fast,
" Natasha, she is Valeria Addams. She will join the designing department. Make a seat for her and also make sure that she is well introduced to her colleagues."
Natasha gave a small nod but her aura didn't seem so welcoming. Once Gideon went to his office, I was left alone with her. Then she started giving off her Boss's favourite attitude, changing the tone as she led the way,
" Our company is very strict about the new staff members. You make a mistake and you will be fired without any consideration. I must tell you in advance. Even though you are recommended by Boss personally, he doesn't favour anyone in his company."
Oh please! I would love to get fired so that I could find my job somewhere else! I had no interest in joining his company.
Afterwards, Natasha introduced me to the whole department. Everyone seemed very friendly and easy going but I noticed that they all respected Natasha more than necessary. It was more like they were trying their best to stay on her good side.
Natasha said to me before leaving,
" Also..you... don't always go to find the Boss. If you want to meet him,make an appointment with me first. "
I held back a scoff, replied with a smirk,
" But what if he asks for me? I don't think that I will have to take your permission then."
She bit her lips together and left angrily without a word. Seriously, who was she to lecture me always?
Liza, the senior staff member came on my side to tell me in a serious voice,
" Don't provoke Natasha too much! You don't know how capable she is. For those who don't get along with her, she makes sure to fire them all by telling the boss. The Boss always listens to her."
I scowled at her, rolling my eyes hard,
" I would love to see what she could do to me!"
They all gave me a ridiculous look as if I was bluffing nonsense to show off. But I wasn't going to get bullied here by his staff. Him, alone had done the worst to me already.

It was lunchtime when everyone had gone to take their food. My new colleagues told me to join but I had to finish some work before heading to the cafeteria. Thankfully, Gideon didn't make things difficult for me here and it seemed like a regular office day for me.
After I finished down my staff, I got up to head for the cafeteria alone. As I was passing the waiting lounge, news was being broadcast. Then I heard something which gave chills down my spine.
" BREAKING NEWS! Alex, the successful businessman was caught with drugs last night. The police said that..."
