Hundred and three
LENA POV
I stared at the gun, my eyes wide with shock, then met his gaze. "What is the meaning of this, "I got out, my voice coming out in a whisper as fear gripped my lungs. "What do you mean by showing us a gun..."
"He's obviously trying to threaten us with it" Raphael cut in, his voice harsh with anger. "Listen here, you fucking bastard; You can't keep us here without our consent. What do you think is going to happen if we get the cops involved, huh? Carrying a gun and threatening us like this is fucking illegal"
Ksar scoffed, then laughed, his brows arching "Is it really illegal?" He asked, the expression on his face mocking. "I wouldn't have known if you didn't tell me just now" he grinned, then his face hardened, his eyes narrowing. "I'm not sure you've grasped the situation you're in yet, cute little Raphael... Should I just put a bullet in your head, so you'll realize how serious I am"
"Don't you dare hurt him" I cried out, then met his gaze pleadingly. "Please don't hurt us, we'll give you anything you want!"
He smirked and then glanced at the phone in our hand. "Drop the phones, or I'll use my so very illegal gun to blow your brains out" he uttered, his voice sending chills down my spine.
I stared into his eyes, knowing that he wasn't playing around.
My eyes darted to those of Raphael, our gaze locking. He looked like he was going to argue but I quickly shook my head. Antagonizing Ksar was only going to make him mad, and with how far we'd driven to get here, I was sure no cops would be able to save us in time even if we succeeded in calling them.
"I do not like to repeat myself, Lena. If you refuse to do as you're told, I'll have no choice but to make one of you an example"
Raphael let his phone drop to the floor, the sound of it smashing against the tiles making me jump.
I let go of mine, too, my eyes getting blurry as the reality of what was happening sank in.
A wave of nausea washed over me, making me sick. How did a dinner to get to know each other end up with a gun pointed at my face?
With all the excitement I had felt leading up to this date, this was not the turnout I expected.
And what the hell did he want from us? Did I match up with a crazy psychopath? Was he going to kill us?
If anything bad happened to us, it would all be my fault.
I'd been so out of my mind with excitement that someone was finally showing an interest in me that I didn't even think about how odd it was to be meeting up with someone that I barely knew at a location so far away from town, even when Raphael pointed it out.
Goddamn it, why was this happening to me? How could I have ignored all the warning signs to end up like this, and all because of having a stupid love life?
I wanted to fucking vomit.
"You two are very alike, you know," he got out, his gaze flickering between us. "Imagine the two of you just deciding to leave before we even got to the best part of the evening. You almost ruined Weeks of planning and that's not fair. I should punish you two before we continue shouldn't I?" He asked, and when we remained silent, he let out a sigh of frustration, then circled us until he was standing at our back, his aim never wavering. "Go on, get into the kitchen. You haven't witnessed my cooking skills after all," he said, and when we refused to move, he pulled the trigger.
I jumped in shock, a sharp yelp escaping my mouth that matched Raphael's shout of terror.
My hands flew to cover my mouth, my eyes slowly moving to the shards of glass on the floor from the vase the bullet had shattered through.
My heart pounded a frantic rhythm in my ear as I turned to face him.
"Why are you doing this. I promise you we don't have any money. The only thing we came here with was the car and you can have it if you want..."
The muzzle of his gun touched my forehead, his head cocking to the side, his eyes sweeping over my face lazily.
"Do you really think this is a robbery, Lena? I can assure you it's not. I lured you out here to take you as a hostage... Everything would have gone smoothly too, but too bad, huh, your little brother just had to tag along"
I stared at him, my eyes darting between his crazy eyes. "But why? Are you obsessed with me or something"
He grinned, then scoffed. "Obsessed?" He mused, his eyes squinting as he thought hard about it. "I mean, you're cute, Lena, but you have to understand that it's not in my nature to be obsessed with anyone except I was hired to kill them," he got out, a cold chuckle escaping his lips. "All I crave is the thrill of a kill, Lena, I mean, I also get a rush from the whole torture that leads up to it, but that's beside the point," he said, then grinned. "In your case, it's different. I do not plan to kill you. I can't say the same for you, brother, though," he added darkly, his gaze moving to those of Raphael.
"If you're going to kill me, then go ahead and do it, but if you think I'll be alive and let you touch my sister, you have another thing coming?" he gritted out, his face red with rage, but I could see the fear lurking in his eyes. Just like me, he was terrified.
Ksar regarded him for a few seconds and then aimed the gun at his head. "I'll be happy to oblige"
"Don't do it" I cried out, my heart almost beating out of my chest. "Please, don't kill him. I'll do anything. I swear it, I'll do anything."
He paused, then his eyes widened, his intense gaze fixing on mine. "Wait a flipping second, why didn't I think of this earlier?"
I glanced at Raphael, my eyes wide with terror matching his. What the hell was he talking about?
Was he a lunatic? He still hadn't told us why he was doing all of this.
"Oh," he said, scratching at the back of his neck. "I can see in your eyes that you have questions. You want to know why I am doing this, don't you?" he said, then leaned in a bit. "This is all happening to you because of Hazel Styles"
My brows furrowed in confusion. "What the hell are you talking about? What do you have to do with Hazel?"
His brows dipped, his face furrowing. "Well, I own her life."
I stared at him, my confusion deepening. "What do you mean you own her life"
He grinned. "Exactly what it means. Julian signed a contract with me you see, he signed over her life to me, and now I want to take it back"
I glanced at Raphael. "What does that have to do with us?"
"Everything. I was going to use you as bait to lure her in. I knew it was going to be hard, but I was willing to take the risk, which was why I invited you here. Now that you brought your brother along, I think I've finally come up with the best plan to get Hazel right in the palm of my hand".
I swallowed hard, my breathing labored as fear pumped through my chest. "What are you going to do?"
He leaned toward me. "I am going to hold your brother hostage and if you want to get him back alive, you'll have to leave here and bring Hazel to me"
