My niece
My niece
Alpha Ken's POV’
I was getting nearer to the slave carriage when I heard loud noises. It was more like a woman crying. I knew a certain rascal was causing trouble. I hastened my footsteps and arrived just in time to witness a bloody scene: a young lady tearing one of my guards’ heads off with her teeth.
I was shocked, not because a guard was killed, but because the woman had a strange aura that I had never experienced before. She gave off a demon vibe, yet her claws, fangs, and eye color hinted at something else. She had strange eye colors like those of the demons from stories, and her long silver hair was mysterious. Her heart-shaped face and high cheekbones were inviting, and her blood-colored lips fit her perfectly.
Despite the blood on her mouth, I felt drawn to her. She was beautiful, and her dark aura made me more interested in her. It seemed like she was heartless and cold, just like me.
“That's enough!” I thundered with a loud voice when I noticed she was about to kill someone else. I pushed aside those naughty thoughts and moved closer to the crime scene, an intimidating frown on my face. She didn't look intimidated; she was relaxed and stared at me, eyeball to eyeball. I was surprised. Most people would shudder in fear after hearing my voice, but this lady stood still, waiting for me to do my worst.
“Hey, behave; he’s the Alpha!” One of the slaves whispered to her, but she scowled with a challenging face. I hated being challenged, especially by a slave who I considered weak.
“You need better soldiers; these ones are a bunch of clowns and are molesting the women,” she said with a concerned look.
“I mean, it’s not like I care. I just pity the children who might result from their silly games.” She added quickly.
I noticed her eyes lingering on my body, and I could swear I heard her curse.
“You haven't changed at all, still the same grumpy look; the only difference is that you now have a more built body, but your face is still as ugly as I remember,” she muttered, thinking I wouldn't hear her, but I did, and my mood switched at once.
“Who are you?” I thundered with a hoarse voice, and the other slaves fell to their knees.
“A slave, of course, or what else am I supposed to be?” She asked with a grimace on her face.
“A slave?” I was bewildered. “You mean a slave created this mess?” I looked at the floor, which was covered in blood and stomach intestines. It was gory, and I turned to face the cause of the problem.
“A slave didn't just create this; she made it and would do it again if care is not taken,” she threatened with a menacing voice.
“You have such a gut!” I mumbled, thinking of the type of punishment I should grant her.
“Clear the two dead bodies, take the injured one to the clinic, take the slaves to their quarters, and...” I paused and laughed hysterically. “Take her to the women's hospital; she will be a good baby machine.” I added, pointing at the stupid, brave woman.
Three carriers were pushed out, and one of the soldiers transferred the dead bodies. They handcuffed the remaining women and dragged them away. The lady stood still, watching what was happening, unfazed.
I stared at her, amused by her boldness. Well, I was amused until one of my soldiers walked towards her with an evil grin.
“What is going on?” She asked with widened eyes, staring at me. I watched her closely, wondering what her next step of action would be.
"Cooperate, my lady. I don't want to hurt you,” the soldier said with a fake smile, and I chuckled softly. Michael was one of my favorite soldiers and was good at faking his emotions.
“Humm.” I hummed in agreement.
"You aren’t serious, are you?" She questioned me, her eyes narrowing at me. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her boldness.
"Dead serious," I affirmed with a firm voice. Michael approached her gently, handcuffs in his hand. He roughly dragged her hand, and she bit him.
“I warned you earlier; don’t touch me,” she said with a grimace, but no one paid her attention. Suddenly, she let out a low growl. I was taken aback—what kind of vampire slave growls like a werewolf?
"Hey, calm down," Michael coaxed, trying to reassure her that she was in good hands, but she was having none of it. With a swift movement, she knocked him to the ground.
I was impressed, and so were my soldiers. She was quick and strong, and I found myself wondering what she was capable of.
"Enough of all this!" I thundered, my voice echoing through the hall. “You're not going to hurt someone else, or worse, yourself." I strode towards her, my eyes locked on hers. She didn't back down; instead, she stood her ground, her eyes flashing with stubbornness.
"I'm not afraid of you," she deadpanned, her voice low and rude. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her bravery.
"Good," I said, nodding my head at her, “you shouldn't be afraid of me. But you should be afraid of what I can do to you." I closed my eyes, clenched my fist, and whispered a quick spell.
She looked at me like an alien, wondering about the trick I was trying to pull off. And to her amazement, when I released my fist, she fell to the ground like a wounded bird.
“Don't you dare think you are the most powerful supernatural being on earth? I am not an ordinary werewolf; I am a warlord!” I growled like a beast and moved closer to her menacingly.
She didn't look scared; a look of determination was on her face, and she tried to crawl away from me. “You monster, I am sure your mother made you the warlord! Would you ever be free from your annoying family grip?” She asked, her tone filled with sarcasm.
Her words irritated me because she knew nothing about my family. With a ruthless mind, I raised my claws, ready to tear her into pieces, but a loud voice echoed in the room.
“Don't do that to my niece!” And we all turned to look at the man seated in the royal carriage. The lady looked surprised to hear the voice; then, on seeing the man, she grinned like a fool.
