“Let's complete this trial first!” I growled at Alpha Ken when he attempted to run toward Gamma Enoch.

"You must be joking, you feather brain!” Beta Victor yelled at me with a look of disgust on his face. He moved closer to me menacingly, his body covered with his blood…. All thanks to me.

I wasn't intimidated by how he walked or stared at me. In fact, I took my stand, patiently waiting for him to do his worst.

The arena was dismayed by Gamma Enoch's announcement about the pack being under attack. Everyone was running helter-skelter, both the young and old.

Alpha Ken paid no attention to me and quickly went to look at Enoch's injury. Luckily there was none, only the blood of his warriors.

Lady Priya stood beside her brother, Ken. She was helping the three other warriors to relax, and the pack doctors happily joined her.

My eyes scanned through the terrified crowd, and I noticed that Clara was still seated, along with Tessa. They were both rooting for me.
Somehow, I wished I had met them back in Kelvin’s pack. When I was really in need of a friend. Right now, I had other stuff to deal with, and although I cared about them, I was reincarnated for revenge, and I had to kill Ken.

“Victor, come over here!” Ken shouted to Victor who was still in the boxing ring with me.
I glared at Victor's retreating figure, my fists clenched in frustration. He looked like he wanted to bury me alive, but didn't know I felt the same way about him.

Alpha Ken's timing couldn't have been worse. I felt frustrated. Come on! To become a warrior Alpha Ken said I must defeat Victor. Just as I was about to finish him off, the pack's emergency interrupted us.

"Enoch, what's happening?" Lady Priya asked concern etched on her face.

"Our scouts reported a large group of rogue wolves and demons approaching our borders. I didn't believe them at first because I knew that werewolves hate demons. But when I got there, there was a bloodbath, and thousands of warriors were injured. Fortunately, I was able to escape with a few,” Enoch replied, his expression grim.

I was shocked by his words. Demons were attacking? What the fuck! Why wasn't I aware of that!’ I thought and hissed.

Beta Victor stepped forward, his voice steady. "We need to assemble our backup warriors and prepare for defense."

"I doubt that will be enough,” Gamma Enoch murmured under his breath.

"What do you mean? It will surely be enough, or have you forgotten that we have the largest warriors in the entire werewolf kingdom?” Ken asked with a furrowed eyebrow.

"There was something about these demons, when we killed them, they transformed into ten ugly beasts. I doubt they can be killed. If we try to kill them, they will transform and definitely outrank us. Also, they have thousands of rogue werewolves with them,” Enoch explained with a strained voice.

‘Multiple demons!? What in the world are they doing here, the last time I saw them they were burning in Hell's volcano.’ I reasoned with myself, secretly eavesdropping on their conversation.
Suddenly, an idea popped up in my brain. If I assist them in destroying the demons, they will surely respect me, and who knows, I might collect the pack from Ken.’ This idea made me so happy and I smiled.

Alpha Ken's expression turned grave. "We need to inform the Elder Council immediately. This threat affects the entire werewolf kingdom."

Beta Victor nodded. "Agreed. We can't handle this alone."

Lady Priya's eyes widened. "But what about the trial? Will it continue?"

I seized the opportunity. "Let's put the trial on hold. We have a greater enemy to defeat. I'll help you destroy the demons, Alpha Ken, in return, I'll make a request. Don't worry, it's not something impossible." I smiled at him broadly.

Ken's gaze narrowed. "Why would you help us? You're still a maid."

Victor looked jealous, and he scoffed. "She is a demon! I'm sure she plotted with her fellow species to kill us all. That's what demons do after all. And as a popular saying goes, ‘only a monster can help defeat another monster.’”

I smirked at Victor's words and shook my head turning to face Ken. "I have my reasons," I said, a sly smile spreading across my face. "Besides, it's in my best interest to protect this pack... for now," I murmured the last words under my breath.

‘I must be the one to kill Ken, I don't need Dracula's puppet help.’ I thought to myself.

Gamma Enoch's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "I think we can trust her, Alpha Ken. We need all the help we can get."

Ken hesitated before nodding. "Very well. The trial is postponed. We'll discuss strategy and prepare for battle."

"Actually, no. The trial is not postponed, it's over,” I said to Ken.

“Huh? What do you mean? Have you given up so easily?” Alpha Ken asked me with a mischievous smirk.

I smirked back at him. "Of course not, Alpha. But I want this to be my trial. Fighting Beta Victor is boring, he is too weak. I want to vanquish the demons instead.”

Ken burst into laughter at the mention of Victor. "Aren't you also a demon?" He asked when his laughter died down.

“Not really, I am a hybrid. A mixture of different species,” I replied, and my expression turned to a solemn one as I remembered that my parents abandoned me.

Victor scoffed at me. “Your mother must be a bitch to sleep with numerous men," he muttered, but I chose to ignore him.

"Fine, if you can defeat the demons, then welcome to the royal warriors,” Ken informed me.

I smiled, "Also, I will get the chance to make a request,” I reminded him.

Ken looked hesitant to make such a deal with me, but he later sighed in resignation. “Fine. It's a deal." He agreed, and an evil smirk settled on my lips.

As some of the pack leaders {Ken, Priya, Enoch, Victor} began discussing tactics, I exchanged glances with Tessa. She nodded in encouragement, sensing my hidden agenda. I had always believed that Tessa knew why I was in the mansion, but I had no evidence to prove my point.

The arena erupted into chaos as the pack scrambled to respond to the threat. I stood frozen, my mind racing with conflicting emotions. Revenge against Victor and Ken still burned within me, but the pack's safety took precedence. I wanted to protect them because of Tessa and Clara. Also, because of the newly born babies who were unable to protect themselves.

With a deep breath, I turned to face Alpha Ken. "I'm ready to fight. Tell me where I'm needed."

Ken's gaze narrowed, but he nodded. "Victor, assign Sicilia to the war front."

Victor's eyes flashed with resentment, but he bit back his anger. "Yes, Alpha."

Enoch and Priya offered me a gentle smile before I left.

As I followed Victor out of the arena, I couldn't shake the feeling that this attack was more than just a coincidence. Someone powerful was at work here.
