Chapter 94 so messy

Chapter 94 so messy

The world outside our room faded into a dull hum. Nothing else mattered—just the warmth of my babies against my chest and the steady presence of Idris beside me.

Our son let out a tiny yawn, his little face scrunching up before settling into sleep. His sister nuzzled closer, her tiny fingers curling against my skin.

“They’re so small,” I whispered, my throat tightening with emotion.

Idris’s arm wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me close. “They’re strong, just like their mother.”

I glanced up at him, my heart swelling at the way he looked at them—with awe, with love. I never thought I’d see the fierce Alpha this soft, but here he was, completely undone by two tiny bundles.

Zara sat on the edge of the bed, watching with wide, tear-filled eyes. “Okay, I admit it. They’re the cutest things I’ve ever seen.”

Orion smirked. “You say that now, but wait until they start crying at three in the morning.”

Zara shot him a glare. “Shut up, let me have my moment.”

I let out a tired laugh, my body aching but my heart full. I traced a finger over my daughter's delicate cheek, marveling at the softness of her skin. She stirred slightly but stayed asleep, her little lips parting with a tiny sigh.

Idris reached out, his large hand dwarfing our son’s tiny one as he touched his fingers. “I can’t believe they’re real,” he murmured.

“They’re perfect,” I whispered.

A knock at the door interrupted the quiet moment. Dr. Tracy stepped inside, a warm smile on her face. “How are you feeling, Luna?”

“Tired,” I admitted, “but happy.”

She nodded, stepping closer to check on the babies. “That’s good. They’re a little early, but their vitals are strong. We’ll keep a close eye on them, but I have no doubt they’ll thrive.”

Relief flooded through me. That had been my biggest fear—that they were too small, too fragile. But they were fighters.

Idris’s fingers traced gentle circles on my back. “Have you thought of names?” he asked softly.

I looked down at our son, his dark lashes resting against his chubby cheeks. Then at our daughter, her tiny fingers still gripping mine.

“I was thinking… Elias,” I said, meeting Idris’s gaze. “For him.”

His lips parted slightly, then he smiled. “Elias,” he repeated, as if testing the name. “I love it.”

I swallowed past the lump in my throat, shifting my gaze to our daughter. She was smaller, more delicate—but there was something about her, a quiet strength beneath the softness.

“And her?” Idris prompted gently.

I hesitated for only a moment before the name came to me. “Lena.”

Idris exhaled slowly, then leaned in, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Elias and Lena,” he murmured. “Our little warriors.”

Zara grinned. “Good choices. I approve.”

Orion nodded. “They’ll carry those names well.”

I looked down at my babies, my heart nearly bursting with love.

Elias and Lena.

My world.

And I would do everything in my power to protect them.

The next few hours passed in a haze of exhaustion and quiet wonder. My body ached, my eyelids were heavy, but I couldn’t stop staring at the tiny miracles in my arms.

Elias slept soundly against my chest, his little fingers twitching now and then, while Lena nestled against my other side, her tiny mouth opening in a soft yawn before she dozed off again.

Idris hadn’t moved from my side. He held onto Elias’s tiny hand, his expression torn between awe and quiet intensity, like he was afraid to blink and miss a single moment.

“You should rest,” he murmured, his golden eyes meeting mine.

I smiled softly, shaking my head. “I don’t want to miss this.”

He exhaled, pressing a gentle kiss to my temple. “You won’t.”

Zara had settled on the couch nearby, her arms crossed over her chest. “Okay, I’m just going to say it—this is the cutest I’ve ever seen you, Idris.”

Orion smirked from where he leaned against the wall. “Agreed.”

Idris shot them both a glare, but it lacked heat. “You two can leave anytime.”

Zara scoffed. “Like hell. I’m staying right here.” Her eyes softened as she looked at the babies. “I’m their aunt. Someone has to make sure they know who the cool one is.”

I chuckled, my heart warming at her words. “You’re already claiming favorite aunt status?”

“Damn right.” Zara smirked. “And I fully expect to be the first one they shift in front of.”

At that, Idris’s grip on Elias tightened slightly. His jaw clenched, and I could feel the tension radiating from him.

I reached for his hand, squeezing it gently. “They’re going to be okay, Idris.”

His throat bobbed as he swallowed. “They’re so small.” His voice was raw with emotion. “What if—”

I shook my head, cutting him off before he could spiral. “They’re strong.” I glanced down at our babies, overwhelmed with love. “And they have us.”

His expression softened, and he leaned down, pressing a kiss to Elias’s forehead, then Lena’s. “Yeah,” he murmured. “They do.”

A comfortable silence settled over us, broken only by the quiet breathing of our newborns.

Then Lena made a soft, gurgling sound, her tiny face scrunching up before she let out a small, high-pitched cry.

Idris tensed. “What—why is she crying?”

I bit back a laugh at the panic in his voice. “She’s probably just hungry.”

Zara smirked. “And so it begins.”

I adjusted Lena gently, my body still sore and aching, but the moment she latched on, my heart swelled.

Idris watched closely, his golden eyes filled with something raw and unguarded. Awe. Devotion. Love.

Elias stirred a little but stayed asleep, tucked safely against Idris’s chest.

This was our life now.

Messy. Exhausting. Beautiful.

And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
