Chapter 152 going to die
KAREN'S POV.
Mark was on the phone. "Yes sir , Alpha no problem , right sir , yes sir , bye sir", He finally hung up.
"Fuck off and die", l thought to myself after listening to his conversation. He lastly turned to me with a smirk on his face as if he had read what I had just inwardly thought. I tried to smile back then turned my attention to Zara. "The supermarket, hope l find everything l want", Zara murmured with her attention to me.
"Yeah it is big enough",l responded while looking around. But as my head searched the room , my eyes all of the sudden widened to the size of saucers. As unbelievable as it was, Ashley was also around. She was once my good friend in highschool and through out the time, Amanda and I used to party with her. I looked at her in disbelief and shockingly her eyes flirted to me silently telling me something before reverting to the fruit section.
It took me a moment to realize that she subtly told me to meet her in the bathroom in sign language. I waited until when we turned another corner and then tried to be nonchalant. "Is there a public restroom in this store?" , I asked Zara careful not to look at Mark. I knew it that he could know it that l was lying.
"Yeah back by the customer service desk", She pointed behind us. "Okay l will meet you in the ice cream isle in 5",l said with a fake smile on my face. "You want ice cream?", she asked with a wide smile on my face. "Yes be right back", For the first time l smiled from the bottom of my heart. It was my time to be set free. Mark said something in her ear and he took the cart from me. I didn't mind about it. I just walked but he shockingly followed me to the bathroom.
Knowing it that he was behind me made my face get hot but l didn't turn to make eye contact with him. Thankfully he stayed outside the door. The washroom had two regular washrooms and one wheel chair washroom. I saw Ashley's feet in the wheel chair washroom and l pulled the handle then stepped in.
As soon as I was inside , she instantly grabbed me and clutched me tight against her. I tried to not make a sound but I just wanted to fall apart. I was dying with disbelief. I didn't know how to tell her that I was sold but I had a feeling that she knew it. "Let's go quick", She said in a panicked voice. I put my finger on my lip and pointed to the bodyguard. "Bodyguard",l whispered and she gasped then covered her mouth.
"I have been so worried ,are you okay?, What happened?, Why did Amanda betray you?", Her voice was barely above a whisper. I had no answers to her questions but tears. "You don't look well ",She continued. I just nodded my head and dashed the tears off my cheeks. "How the hell did you ever find me",l asked. "Huh, I can't even explain it, one time I went to your house to visit you but I was shocked with what l saw, don't let that bitch rest in peace , I honestly felt hurt when I heard her proudly give me the reason as to why she betrayed you", She took a deep breath , her body trembling as she did speak in a hushed voice.
"The only good thing is she has also failed to become pregnant , wait you being held captive ain't you?", l nodded my head on the verge of tears. I didn't know how to explain everything l was passing through. Her nostrils flared with anger. "I wish I could help you but it's not late , you need to go , we need to go , you have to escape , you need to teach Amanda a lesson", Looking me straight into my eyes , she said every word with confidence.
"It's too dangerous Ashley", Recalling the way Nathan died, l said in a whisper. I didn't want to be the reason for her death too. "Listen , I can't talk about this but they are too dangerous", l whispered recalling everything, the way Idris put the gun in my mouth. "I don't want you to get mixed up in this , l'm fine , please don't do anything, please just....", I went on shivering already at the thought. I didn't want to lose her too. "You not fine", Her voice was getting louder.
"Sssh", l winced clutching her biceps. There was a loud knock on the door before I could even say anything. I flushed the toilet and signaled for her to keep quiet. "Miss Karen", Mark was now inside the ladie's rooms right outside the stall l was in. Trembling I started to open it and tried to squeeze my way out without revealing that Ashley was in there.
It was no use because he pulled the door open and came face to face with her. "Is everything okay miss Raelynn",he asked looking at Ashley instead of me. "It's fine",l breathed out. "Let's go",l turned and looked at Ashley giving her a desperate look.
"It's okay , am fine , l will be okay", she shook her head at me and then turned her attention to Mark. "What do you think you people you are doing? You can't just ... ", "Please", l exclaimed cutting her off in mid sentence. "I will be in touch , don't say anything okay , if you do this it will put your family at risk too , trust me an gonna be fine",l said boldly.
Mark narrowed his eyes at me and then at her. He then reached for my elbow and gently ushered me forward. " You part of my life Karen, don't let anyone destroy your life", She choked out. "I love you , thank you for everything , l will be in touch thanks dear", Tears welled up in my eyes. She covered her mouth too with her hand.
"Take my arm miss Karen", Mark growled intervening in our conversation. I did it humbly and he ushered me directly out of the store and to the jeep he had driven us in. He opened the back door and I entered in without a word said. He got into the driver's seat and held the phone . Then he hung up and dialed again and again. In everything he looked so pissed .
He then dialed again and finally someone answered. "Sir there's been an incident. It's under control but a friend of miss Karen followed us to the supermarket and got her in that bathroom , I broke up their conversation sir",He was quiet for a moment and then stepped out of the jeep and closed the door.
He stepped six feet away to finish his conversation. That only made me to feel like asking for the ground to swallow me.
I was totally going to die this time.
