Chapter 108 don't know where she is
IDRIS'S POV.
"Raelynn has been taken away, let me go look for her"
Zara's words echoed again in my head as l regained my conscience. As expected l was still in the cold cell. Those are the only words that kept sounding in my head ever since l was attacked - together with the Alphas of the different packs.
Getting captured was something I was still finding unbelievable but the reality of damp cell fliters kept reminding me that, I was in the cell that had thick doors with wolfsbane on them. The hunters attacked us mysteriously, they didn't give us a chance to fight and currently both my wrists and ankles were chained up to the cement wall behind my back just like the others.
The constant injections of wolfsbane and silver were keeping me weak and unable to break the metal chains that had trapped me for a week. Ever since we were captured, every day scientists come in and draw blood. They were experimenting on us. They captured all supernatural creatures.
I didn't understand my role in here. After studying the previous doctor's notes, l noticed that l was tasked to develop a serum that would make the animal genes in shifters dormant. The hunters wanted a better weapon to make the fight easier.
The slam of the cold metal door echoed off the concrete walls and heard the guards move towards one of the cages. "Experiment 492, step up to the bars", They walked to the cell across mine. I knew the cruel fate of the little vampire. She was going to be cut open and if survives the experiment, she will be thrown in another cage to fight another shifter.
I watched in silence as the scientists dragged the poor vampire down the hall. A few minutes later, the echoes of her screams reached my ears. She lasted only minutes before there was silence once more. The prison guards did their rounds before tossing a piece of bread into each cell.
The grains were tainted wolfsbane and the coating was seasoned with mistletoe. The poisoning kept us oriented and we all couldn't focus enough to feel the bond of our packs. I couldn't mind link Zara and I didn't know whether she found Raelynn or not.
It had been few hours since the guards had taken down the vampire and they came back and took another one from a few cells down. The click of heels registered against the cement as two scientists made their way from cell to cell.
They took their time to look in to each cell as they watched those they have been torturing. When they made it to the bars in front of me, l took in both of them. The male was scrawny looking with his face hidden behind his large thick glasses.
The woman had her brown hair pulled back in a professional bun with a slim figure. Her fingers clutched the wooden clipboard as she tried to keep her face neutral. Isn't this the Alpha whose Luna escaped?",
"527. Yes he is the one"
I felt anger flow in my body when l heard that. The idea that l had been reduced to a number annoyed me more.
"Isn't she the human Luna?", The lady asked.
"She is the most wanted and hunters are still looking for her", The man spoke while moving towards the other cells. That at least gave me some hope. Zara perhaps found her and hid her. The only thing that I didn't want to happen was losing my babies.

I woke up to the sound of screaming. The sound told me that the guards had started their rounds early. I looked up to see the guards slam the taser baton into the witch in the cell next to mine. She was just a small sized haired lady. She knew spells for weather but there was something that hunters kept injecting into her neck.
They were again back torturing her as she screamed loudly. I had my eyes on her as she cried in pain. It was unbearable and her lip was trembling as she looked at me.
I felt my anger rise in my body and l couldn't take it anymore
"Enough", My growl was loud and clear.
"Who are you to say that", A mischievous grin appeared on the hunter's face.
"Do you think he has had enough?", He laughed as he signaled the camera at the end of the hall to open my cell door. "I said enough", Authority was evident in my voice. He sneered then opened up the cell door. "You ain't in charge mutt", He all of the sudden slammed the end of the baton into my body where heat and electricity seemed in .
I stopped myself from making noise and took the punishment. The no reaction angered the guard. "Maybe it's on a too light setting", He said as he turned the knob up then jammed it in my chest. Shit! That was enough. Since I was already weak, black dots quickly filled my vision as the pain radiated through my entire body. I kept my scream inside my head as l felt my mind start to darken.
The last thing I saw before blacking out was the guard laughing as he slammed another round of electricity in my chest.
My mind wandered back to reality as l pulled myself from the dream. I felt my soul reach out for her but I couldn't hold the feeling of her. I could feel it in my heart that whenever my pregnant mate was, things weren't good for her but I didn't know how to help her. All the other Alphas and their mates are always tortured every day and we surely had no way out of these cells.
"I really need to see that bastard, l heard that he is the strongest", The blaring of the fighting ring alarm sounded like a bell through the cells. The yellow lights over a handful of cages flashed before my cage door creaked open. I knew it as soon as I saw them enter in the cell. Two tall muscled men were guarding an old grey haired man. He was perhaps the leader of the scientists.
"Where is she?", He asked while staring angrily at me.
"Who?", I growled.
"First unchain this bastard, l want him on his knees",
The chains around my wrists and ankles quickly crackled open and l fall down instantly on my knees.
I didn't do anything when I saw him laugh like a lunatic but l knew it that my anger was going to be my greatest strength in breaking the chains around my wrists.
"Beat him until when he tells you where he told his bitch to hide herself", He chuckled and quickly the guards put a silvered scold's brindle on my head.
It was time for punishing me but I wasn't going to say anything. I also didn't know where she was.
