Towering walls 70

Chapter 70

Sir Whitmore sprang from his chair. “What? Ellie’s missing

Adaline froze, then hurriedly corrected herself. “No–Annie, Annie’s vanished! I’ve tried calling but can’t reach her. Sir Whitmore, please help me find my daughter I’m afraid something terrible has happened!”

The moment he learned it was Annabelle who had disappeared, Sir Whitmore exhaled in relief, sat back down, and took an unhurried sip of tea. “How could she be missing? Wasn’t she with you just now?”

“She was, but she went off to–ch…” Adaline trailed off helplessly.

Anxious as an ant on a hot skillet, she nevertheless clung to her plan. If she let the timing slip, everything happening to Elena would be for nothing.

“I can’t reach Elena either,” she added, forcing urgency into her tone. “Both girls are nowhere to be found. Could you please have someone look for them, Sir Whitmore?”

Hearing that Elena was also missing, Sir Whitmore tensed again. “Who exactly is gone?”

“Both of them! But let’s look for Elena first

Knowing how deeply he cared for Elena, Adaline had no choice but to press ahead with the plan.

Whitmore issued an order at once. “Find Ellie immediately–bring her to me unharmed!”

Adaline quickly added, “I suddenly realized we haven’t checked the guest rooms, I’m worried she might have eaten seafood again and had an allergic reaction like last time.”

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go,” Sir Whitmore said, already rising.

He led the way upstairs.

Adaline followed, her heart thumping wildly.

Pressing a hand to her chest, she murmured inwardly, “Elena, I can only wrong you this once.

At the door, Sir Whitmore knocked. No sound came from inside

“Something may have happened,” Adaline suggested. “We’d better open it with a key.”

Sir Whitmore immediately had a waiter bring the master key.

Adaline’s pulse hammered as she rubbed her palms together,

The door swung open, and Sir Whitmore charged in. “Ellie!”

Adaline’s gaze slammed onto the bed. A half–naked man was unbuckling his belt while the drug–clouded Elena lay sprawled beneath him, her hand roaming mindlessly over his torso.

Adaline shrieked in shock, then shouted, “Good heavens, Elenal How could you- This is your grandfather’s birthday party! How can you do something

so shameless?”

Guests filled the banquet hall, and plenty lingered in the corridor. At the rumor that the Bennett heiress was caught in bed with a stranger, many horried. downstars to spread the news.

Julian and Lawrence Bennett heard the commation; their faces darkened as they raced upstairs.

Sir Whitmore took in the scene, livid. His roar shook the room. “You scoundrel: How dare you touch my granddaughter? 11 kill you??

Chapter 70

He snatched up a chair and smashed it over the man’s head, eyes blood–red and breathing hard.

Blood gushed instantly. The man never had a chance to speak; he collapsed unconscious on the bed.

Still seething. Sir Whitmore dragged the man to the floor and kicked him viciously.

“You’ll rot in prison for the rest of your life for laying a finger on her
