Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Avalyn sat in the shower. Until now she failed to process last night's incidents. From the fact that she saw Archibald, and Bloody knew him, to learning her half-sisters were married to the same man who now owns her, to meeting werewolves yet again, to finding out she was mated to one.
‘𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒔.’
The water pelted her body and skated down her soft creamy flesh graciously. Her hair shrunk after being soaked, it lay idle on her spine, and her red lips quivered as the ice-cold water kept raining down. Ava thought about her best friend, and how much right now she'd be there to kiss her forehead and tell her everything was going to be okay. The memories and flashbacks brought tears that mixed with the shower water and disappeared down the drain once it ran off her.
She's confused. Her feelings are a knotted disaster. Mind blank. Heart beating as slow as a snail.
‘𝑺𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒓𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆...’ before living with Ricardo, she lived with her dad, Cody Monroe. Your not-so-common ginger-haired green-eyed blue collar irresistible stud. Cody was much older than Ava's mother, and he was a married man, Ava and Anastasia were the results of an affair that went wrong. Since Ava's mother had custody of her and her sister she rarely got the chance to meet her other sisters, but she did and they weren't mean to her, they loved her. Their mothers, however, hated the bond that began forming.
The last thing Ava heard of her older sisters was that they ran away from home in their early twenties, and a few years later they got married. Her knowledge stopped there. Ava loved her older sisters despite everything, so now, hearing about their fate shattered her. ‘𝑰'𝒎 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏, 𝑰 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒑 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕? 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒓𝒐𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒅!’ a shaky breath passed her lips and she knew it was time to leave the shower.
Ava touched the mat placed behind the glass door of the shower as if a bomb had been placed under it. She gulped and wrapped a towel around her body, which stopped mid-thigh. She put another around her head and went to sit at the edge of the bed, wondering when did her life get so...
‘𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅.’
As she pondered, a gentle knock came and she urged the person to enter. Her mood worsened seeing Lorenzo standing there, trying not to make eye contact. “The fuck do you want?”
“He requests your presence. I'm certain you know where to find him,” Renzo was about to go when Ava called him back.
“What's your history with Dream? Why are you hellbent on finding her?” Ava squinted her eyes. “How do you know her?”
“You never know when to stop asking questions, do you? Don't you know curiosity killed the cat?” Renzo glared at her.
“And satisfaction brought it back. I hate cats. I've always been a dog person,” Ava shot back, “Aren't you going to answer me?”
“We're married, okay? I fucked up in the past and did some shit I shouldn't have done. She left me and I never saw her again till recently. I want to find her again because...I'm hoping we can work things out,” Renzo reluctantly said, “Satisfied?”
“She doesn't want you anymore. She's engaged and happy with her son. She has moved on with her life, do the same and stop being a pain in the ass, it's not benefiting you, Lorenzo O'Brien,” she smirked. His look of pure shock lightened her mood. “I know all about you and the crap you did. I know everything, from the cheap excuse of a wedding ceremony to your cheating. She left you on a rainy day, three months pregnant with her son, Damian O'Brien. You don't deserve to be a father, I will never tell you where to find her. I won't allow you to ruin her life, she's happy with Diego.”
Renzo's face went from stone-cold to soft and desperate. “A... A son? I have a son. Does he look like me? Are his eyes brown? Does he hate seafood like me? Is..is... Oh my God...” he held his chest, looking at the ground, “I didn't know she was pregnant. Ava, believe me.”
She pointed at him. “Fuck you. Now get out before I tell Bloody you tried to rape me.”
“What? Ava, Ava–”
“Out!”
He nodded, licking his lips. “Fine. I'll leave. Bu-but this argument isn't over. We're not...we're not done here, Ava,” he left once her maids arrived.
In under thirty minutes, she got dressed and made the treacherous journey to Bloody's room. She has only been there twice. Ava played with her fingers and mostly looked to the ground as she made her way there, nervously chewing on her bottom lip until the lip gloss there was swallowed. Quicker than she expected they arrived and the maids deviated to carry on with their day. Ava feared what Bloody might do or say, she knows he was still angry about last night with Alpha Nox...
‘𝑵𝒐𝒙,’ Ava sighed heavily, ‘𝑰 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒌𝒂𝒚.’
“Thinking about him, I presume?”
Ava screamed and recoiled to the wall behind her. She was panting when she looked up and saw a shirtless Bloody watching her, he was surprisingly calm, and that frightened her. Avalyn composed herself and stood straight, ignoring how defined his chest and forearms were. It was as if his muscles had been crafted by Greek Gods. She shook her head, trying to push back the desire to run her fingers up his tanned biceps and lay them on his broad shoulders. Bloody wore black pants low on his waist, making it all too obvious that he wasn't wearing anything underneath. He had a few band-aids on his stomach and chest but they didn't stop her eyes from getting lost at the sight of his sharp V feeding down into his monstrous cock. The one she already felt nearly destroyed her core.
She noted veins all over his abdomen and arms. Heck, how come she hadn't noticed his body up until now? She also noticed he received a new haircut. A well-done taper fade, his black and brown hair straightened and divided to give him the split bangs Asain men had. Though the hair covered it, Ava didn't miss the two cuts on his left brow. It made her curious as to how old he was.
He looked so young.
“Bunny...” Bloody, who was holding the crown of the doorway with one hand, let go and started towards her. “Like what you see, my darling?”
“I guess,” she shrugged, struggling to stay focused.
In a few seconds, Bloody reached Ava. He looked down at her, Ava stopped just below his chest. She was small for a person with a Dragon's mouth. “You look beautiful today, my love.”
“Did you hit your head on the door?” she blinked rapidly, “Because what leaves your mouth isn't something I'm used to,” Bloody pulled her onto his naked chest. He wrapped his arms around her protectively, as if she'd run away from him. Bloody bent down and pecked her cheek before burying his face in her hair.
“Then you should start getting used to it, my love.”
Ava was sure he was angry at her for something. She wasn't sure what, but she knew he was going to punish her. No way is Bloody, aka Donatello Rossetti, calling her 'my love' right after fighting with werewolves. Hell, he got a haircut–a makeover! What the actual hell is going on in this place?
“Bunny, you didn't answer me,” he pulled away and held her face between his index and thumb. “Were you thinking of him?” his voice deepened, and he squished her cheeks–but not in a very nice way.
“Yeah...” she pouted, “I was thinking how on earth could he have taken me from my master. He was wrong for that and deserves to die,” she said.
Bloody searched her face and sighed. “Bunny, don't worry about that, I'll take care of it. I won't let him take you from me again, okay? Last night was a slip-up, I'm sorry about that, how about you go outside and stay by the pool on a sunlounger?”
He bought her lie, thankfully.
“That would be wonderful, master,” she hugged him. His personality change was alarming, but Avalyn melted in his arms. His cologne floated around her eventually shooting up her nostrils; he smelled like Pinewood and Blackberries. Ava was brought to reality when she felt herself being lifted off the ground and into the air, startled, she looked at Bloody–who was carrying her to his room. “What's...what's going on? Why am I going to your room?”
Bloody chuckled and kissed her eyes. Making her frown. “Don't look at me like that, bunny.”
“You didn't answer my question.”
“A little morning make-up sex never hurts now, does it?” he pushed the door closed using his foot, he walked a little further to his King-sized bed with grey covering, grey headboard, and multicolored pillows–a perfect balance of grey, white, and gold. He dropped her onto the bed and held her chin, staring at her like a diamond he found by the beach. “You're so fucking beautiful, Avalyn. I'm delighted to know that you're mine.”
Ava blushed lightly at his words, she felt uncomfortable with how swiftly his personality can change but forced a smile to hide her concerns. “Is your name Donatello?”
He nodded. “Donatello Amore Rossetti. Growing up I was called Dari,” he held his neck and cracked it a few times, “Until I killed a Pastor and the whole congregation in a Church in my suburban neighbourhood. That's when people started calling me Bloody.”
Ava slapped her mouth to prevent a scream.
“What? It was a solo mass shooting. They died pain-free,” he shrugged nonchalantly. “Enough about my name's origin. Lay flat and spread that pussy open for me, baby.”
Ava knew at that moment this man was insane.
‘𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒕,’ the voice in her head coyly said.
‘𝑶𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝑮𝒐𝒅, 𝒏𝒐!’ she groaned inwardly.
She did as she was told, spreading her legs wide as she lay on her back. Bloody shrewdly licked his lips and kneeled between her legs. As he stripped her she made a decision. A decision that had already been made, but discarded, but made again, which now...made her heart beat painfully.
‘𝑰'𝒎 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒚. 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑵𝒐𝒙 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒚.’
The question is, how will she do that?
Or rather, will she succeed in her attempt to escape?
