Chapter 18

Chapter 18
“What the fuck are you doing here with MY woman you fucking beast?” Bloody asked his words as bitter as the look in his blue eyes.

“Yours? She is MINE. My mate, my woman, and my future Luna. Tell me why did you have her in the first place, you bastard?” Wave barred his sharp teeth, his legs parting to take on an Alpha stance. “You're a traitor.”

“You wanted to kill her asshole, remember that. I saved her. And now that you know she didn't kill your son you think you can take her from me? Oh no...” Bloody drew out the word, “Avalyn Monroe belongs to me. She is my possession. My property. My woman. Mine. And I don't share.”

“Well, that's one thing we have in common,” Wave chuckled with darkness darker than the night, “But no, Bloody, she's not yours. She never was. And she never fucking will be. Leave now and I may spare your life.”

“Kiss my ass you fucking insane dog-bear hybrid,” Bloody bellowed and Nox roared. “You should get your ass out of my goddamn City. You don't belong here. Monsters like you don't belong in Cities–you belong in cages!”

“Oh, you are so done for, Bloody,” Wave moved to attack Bloody with speed Ava's eyes couldn't pick up but Bloody did and he shot Nox sending him flying into a tree.

“Wave!” Ava screamed when she saw him injured. “Bloody what the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Ugh–what the!” Nox held his injured arm, the silver cut through his flesh and badly burned it. Smoke permeated from the gunshot wound, blood profusely ran and the smell of his burnt flesh made appeased the Godfather.

“Ava! I'm doing this all for you!” Bloody reloaded his gun and aimed at Nox's head. “Just stay right there baby, I'll deal with this first then take you home. Just stay put and don't move,” Bloody was about to shoot Nox when he lunged at him, Bloody fell back and they both rolled in the dirt.

Wave extended his claws and slashed Bloody's face but he whipped out a silver knife and stabbed him in the neck, they continued rolling in the dirt as Ava yelled for them both to stop–but they didn't and ended up rolling down a hill with a lake at the foot.

“Bloody! Waverly! No!” she yelled, her voice echoing into the woods. From a very far distance, Ava heard the howl of a wolf and jumped in freight. That must be Wave's pack, but if they come here they'll all team up and kill Bloody.

She doesn't want him to die

She wants neither of them to die.

The hill was a steep one–like half a mountain–so when the two men's bodies hit the ice-cold water there was a massive splash. Wave let out a roar and clawed at Bloody but he dodged and stabbed him in the stomach after missing his heart which would guarantee the immediate death of this woman-stealing son of a bitch. They fought onward but eventually went underwater and Ava didn't see them again. If it wasn't for the full moon she wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

As her mind calculated and thought of a way to get down the hill without falling into the water countless wolves surrounded her with bloodlust in their eyes. They were big–they all resembled normal wolves but were at least 5'1 at the shoulders. Each had different colours to their fur coats, their legs were parted and tails stiffly wagging. The black skin on their mouths lifted to show off metal-tearing canines and their eyes of various colours radiated in the dark, while others bounded down the hill to see what was happening the rest surrounded her.

Growling, snarling and some attempted biting.

Ava's heart thunderously pounded and her fear spiked when one grabbed her by the foot, the bite wasn't hard but the sharp teeth scratched her deeply and she yelped in pain. They kept closing in, taunting her knowing she was afraid of them. Avalyn looked around not sure what to do when she suddenly just snapped, one wolf that got too close she kicked across the face making him whimper and back away.

“Listen up! I am your Alpha's mate and your future Luna! You fucking back off right now!” she yelled louder than she ever had before in her life, overpowering their animalistic sounds. “I'm not afraid of you and I won't let you bunch of werewolves fucking intimidate me!” she panted, sweat running down her body.

The wolves sniffed her and smelled their Alpha's scent on her, she was also wearing the man's jacket. They gave thought to what she said and discussed telepathically that it might be true but still kept growling at her–if she was their future Luna they had to put her to the test. A group of howls later and the reinforcements arrived–the Lycans, one being the pack's beloved beta Storm. They explained the situation at hand and the towering Lycan standing on his hind legs faced the so-called Luna alongside his four fellow Lycan companions. They cocked their heads to stare before circling her–walking on all fours as the smaller wolves took themselves away.

Ava was rooted in her spot, determined not to back down or cry because of them. Donatello Rossetti, also known as Bloody, is a mafia boss who is feared by many Cities–she is his sub. Waverly Lennox, also known as Nox, is the Alpha of the Vermilion Marcoux pack that is feared by all supernatural creatures–she is his mate. Two powerful men are in a lake fighting just to kiss her hand, she can't stand there and be a bitch.

‘But if I gotta be a Bitch, I'll be a Bad one.’

Ava felt waves of confidence and stood straight–chin raised high to stare into their glowing eyes. She'll fight intimidation with intimidation. The growls bouncing around grew vicious by the second, their attempts to make her cower soon turn desperate–but they knew better than laying a finger on her. One of the Lycans went to growl against her ear but her eyes remained trained on the beta, she was not fazed by their behaviour.

While she was having a faceoff with supernatural beings, Nox and Bloody fought relentlessly in the water.

Nox had the upper hand though Bloody tried his hardest, his strength just couldn't compare with that of Nox–to finally put this battle to an end Nox bent Bloody's hand behind his back and grabbed him by the throat, he pushed his head under water slowly.

Both were covered in blood and bruises, the water was tainted Scarlett red and their once clean skins suffered from slash and stab wounds. Nox's were beginning to heal, but Bloody's weren't. When his whole body was put under water he knew he would die, he knew living was impossible and at one moment wanted to give up. But the sound of gunshots and a stampede of footsteps gave him hope.

Nox looked up to see what was happening and his worst fear was confirmed–Rogues were attacking his pack, and even worse, his mate was there! Instinctively he released Bloody and kicked him deep under the water, he jumped out but instead of strong legs hitting the ground it was black paws. With his mate on his mind he ran up the hill with the others following closely, the fight had already begun and they were outnumbered. Nathan–his wolf and the one dominating–searched for Avalyn and found her standing fearlessly among the wolves of his pack.

What she did next shocked him.

Ava saw two rogues beating down one wolf and practically tore a big branch off a tree. She looked at it astonished but didn't wait to smack both wolves in their faces. They shook their heads and backed away to snarl. “Aaaah! Come at me bitches I'm not afraid of two dogs!” she stepped closer waving her stick. The wolves looked at each other, one bit the stick and dragged it out of her hands. Avalyn didn't panic–she ran between the trees and the wolves chased her.

Wave and his wolf worried for their mate but they didn't move, they didn't intervene. They didn't need to–Ava ran to the cliff and provoked the rogues by throwing rocks. The animals felt annoyed and lunged to take her down but she spread her legs, set one down, and split. The animals stared at her in shock as she smirked, they both fell on big rocks injuring themselves on the way down until they hit the water. And werewolves can't swim.

Nox smiled with satisfaction and bit off the head of a rogue that attacked his gamma.

Ava closed her legs and threw them over her head, she stood up and panted. “Ava one, werewolves zero. Ha, as I should,” she ran back into the fight and saw that Nox was okay. She then turned her attention down the hill in search of Bloody but he was...gone. Could he have drowned and sunk to the bottom of the lake?

“No...Bloody...”

Ava looked around to see more and more of the unfamiliar werewolves attacking Wave's pack. Where were they even coming from? With two wolves in front to block any attackers she kneeled and let her thoughts wander–she was happy Nox was okay, but Bloody...was he dead?

Hands suddenly grabbed her waist and pulled her back, whoever grabbed her threw her to someone else, and that someone continued the process until she landed in wet arms. Ava squealed and struggled against the person but the stranger stroked her hair and whispered in her ear.

“Calm down, bunny, everything is okay. You're safe now,” Bloody kissed her ear. “Don't worry about that moron, the wolves I paid to take him down will do the job. Come, baby, let's go home.”

“Bloody! You're safe!” she turned and hugged him dearly. She pulled away to look at his face and saw...no injuries. “Wha..what's...y-your face! H-how?” she freaked out, knowing that he had to have sustained some serious injuries.

“Shh, no time to talk, let's go,” Bloody tried to take her away but she didn't move.

A deafening roar alerted them both, Alpha Nox saw what happened and wasn't pleased. He charged after them but over twenty rogues jumped on him. Avalyn was scared for Nox's life and even started crying, but Bloody hushed her–thinking she was scared–and took her away.

Wave painfully watched Bloody take his girl.

The anger he felt was insurmountable, Bloody may have won the battle by cheating, but the war i
was yet to come.

He wants his mate and he will have her.

Even if it meant burning Imperial City to the ground.
