Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Archibald Sunfield Anderson, minister of Finance and current Don of the Feral Felons Gang. The man creepily smiled with his barrel belly pushing out, hooked around his arm is a short curvy woman skimpily dressed smiling unsettlingly.
Ava's heart plummeted when the recognition became as clear as spring water. That man was the man to whom her stepfather owed money–the man her stepfather sold her to without her knowledge. If she hadn't run away he would've sent his men to take her to his home by force. She didn't expect to cross paths with this man again.
Not after five long years.
Her evident fear was understanding, but Bloody's growing fury wasn't. The tails of his brow that faced each other deepened so much they almost touched his nose, the man's forehead had a pulsing vein and his jaw clenched tightly till a vein stretching from his neck to the curve throbbed. His eyelids were low, eyes bloodshot, lips pursed into a perfectly thin line and nostrils slightly flaring. It was clear the man was upset beyond calming, but there was also pain mixed into his expression. Regardless, he was ‘Nile Crocodile’ furious and Avalyn knew this wasn't the time to do anything to set him off.
She almost felt sorry for Mr Anderson, or as his code name goes, Don Pierce.
“Woah! Bloody, calm down man. No need to get so raging-bull-angry over a simple joke,” Archibald was playing with lava, “We're all Mafia men, we make jokes about any and everything. No need to be upset,” Archibald fearlessly strode over with his sub. Every tooth in his mouth was made of solid gold, hair quiffed at the top to make him–at least in his mind–attractive.
Bloody continued to stare until he raised his head and smiled closed-mouthed. “But of course, Don Pierce, as a man in the industry for over ten years I know better than to take such a meaningless thing seriously.”
‘Wait a fucking minute. Wait, wait, wait. There is no way on planet earth he just went from 'I am going to pull your eyes out and feed to sharks' to 'everything is completely fine no need to worry'. That's...that's not logically possible.’
“Bloody, my old friend,” Archibald left the female and extended a hand for a handshake from the man. “How have you been lately?”
Bloody said nothing and took his hand to shake it, “Quite alright...until you showed up,” Bloody suddenly hauled him forward, took a gun from somewhere on his body, threw it in his other hand and smacked him across the forehead. Archibald fell on his stomach bleeding with groans and winces.
“You can make fun of me, my mafia, and everything else. But you keep her name–” he pointed at Ava, “and the names of my ex-wives out of your filthy mouth. How dare you talk about them in such an indecent way? How dare you present such incompetence to me? Who do you think you are to even mention their names?” Bloody stomped on his head countless times–both men from the Onyx King Brotherhood and Feral Felons Gang whipped out guns to point at the opposing mafia organization. “Keep Cozette's and Davina's names out of your fucking mouth. And that goes for everyone here unless you want to be burned alive like the people in the Seventh Day Adventist Church last Saturday.”
The people stepped back not wanting to get involved. Every Mafia in Imperial City knows why Bloody was deemed King, they also know what happened to the women he mentioned–and they know it's suicidal to bring them up at any time.
“Did...did you just say Cozette and D-Davina?” Ava stepped to Bloody, holding his hand, looking up into his eyes that softened upon seeing her so concerned. “Bloody, did you say Cozette and Davina?”
Bloody kicked Archibald and left him for the sub to scrape him off the ground. “I apologize for not telling you sooner, it's just...not a topic I like to discuss. Cozette and Davina Monroe were Irish twins I was in a polyamorous relationship with for seven years. I loved them both to death. With all of my heart. I gave them anything and everything they ever wanted. These two women were also in a Master/Slave relationship with me as you are now.
“But they were also my wives, Ava, I loved them so much. But one asshole took them from me. It was a case of mistaken identity, a pack of wolves attacked my home while I was away, and they took my girls from me. I searched high and low for my wives but found no trace, a month later, on Valentine's day, my birthday, their...” Bloody inhaled deeply, not wanting to continue but carried on as he felt she must know the truth, “Their decapitated heads were mailed in white gift boxes wrapped in red ribbon with big red bows on each box. On my fucking birthday.
“The worst part is, I never found the perpetrators nor was I offered an apology,” Bloody put up a stoic facade but Ava could see the pain and heartbreak in his eyes, he was crumbling piece by piece on the inside. Your mouth can lie but your eyes can't as they are connected to the soul. “And you, that's not gonna happen to you. I promise.”
“Too late, someone wants her head and yours served on a platter. This is what you get for killing my son you bastard,” Archibald cackled when he finally managed to get up. “You both are done.”
“Shut up!” Ava walked to Archibald and slapped him across the face–the side that was on the floor when Bloody stomped on him. One man from Feral Felons seized her wrist and put a gun to her but Bloody emptied a round of bullets into his head. “Someone killed my fucking sisters and that's all you can say? Go to hell you inhumane piece of shit!”
“Sisters?” the crowd, including Bloody, gasped.
Bloody didn't have time to connect the dots, a shootout ensued between the gangs. That wasn't even the terrifying part, while they shot at each other and Bloody tried leading Ava to safety ear-splitting mixtures of growls and roars cut across the large area. The gunshots stopped so that everyone could listen more carefully, the terrifying sounds belonging to only one known creature ripped through the air again sending the whole floor into a petrified frenzy. Seconds after the sounds that meant death, pain and bloodshed, they began flooding the inside of the building.
They were Werewolves, and a few Lycans in the bunch too.
“What the f–they're working together!” Bloody pulled a rifle from under his jacket and shot silver bullets at two werewolves, point-blank, killing them almost instantly. They may move fast but not faster than the bullets of his gun. “Renzo! Try to keep the boys as safe as possible, Cheeto, Slick, Trévon and the rest! Follow me!”
“What? You're leaving me out?” Renzo was tackled to the ground by a werewolf, he stabbed the wretched beast with a silver knife in its heart. They're everywhere and shredded everything in their path, but they didn't touch men from the Feral Felons, proving that they do work together.
“Listen, Lorenzo! This is a fucking crisis I don't have time to argue! Do what I tell you!” Bloody's eyes widened when one black wolf jumped over him and Ava, landing behind her. It shook its head and took a powerful stance, glaring at the man, razor-sharp shiny teeth barred and dripped saliva.
“Not today motherfucker,” Bloody pushed Ava back and took out another rifle matching the one he already held. The werewolf pounced on him, sending him skating across the ground but he somehow managed to shoot the animal dead before it tore his head off. “You nor your leader will take her from me. Your species has already taken enough,” he rolled the dead body off not minding the blood. Without wasting time he grabbed a frozen Ava's wrist and ran out with her.
The heels made her a little slow so he threw her on his shoulder. With the help of other gangs, he managed to get outside with Ava and the rest, they all hopped into the cars and drove off at high speed. However, they weren't out of danger yet.
Five wolves jumped out from the trees behind the fence that lined the road to chase after the cars, some catching up and going toe to toe with them. Bloody groaned and switched gears, looking over to make sure Ava was okay and hit the brakes to make one of them slam into the bumper.
The animalistic whimper made him smirk, change gear again and speed off to catch up with the other four cars driving with him. Over on his left, a werewolf pounced onto Keagan's car, Bloody pressed on gas to catch up to the car and shot the disrespectful thing off it. Keagan saluted his boss and went into the passenger seat making Frost drive, he opened the top of the car and pressed a button that made a machine gun appear.
“So long, mutts!” Keagan wore his sunglasses and shot at every wolf in sight, making sure they got hit by the silver bullet. Many fell injured but some kept chasing despite the injuries, “Die! Die! Die! All of you die!” Keagan turned the gun to one of them chasing after the car on his far-right but he missed, giving the werewolf the chance to leap onto the car, tear off the top and kill the two people inside. Which happened to be Trévon and another member. “No! No! No! Trévon! No!” he shot up the car, it went off-road and crashed into a railing–later blowing up, burning everyone except the wolf that disappeared into the woods.
All disappeared.
“Boss! Boss we gotta stop! Boss! Trévon! He's... He's...” Keagan tearfully looked at Bloody, the man licked his lips, shut his eyes and shook his head.
Frost and the others had to bring Keagan down.
After a few tense minutes, the cars drove normally on the road that made a right turn, now they were in a more forested area with railings lining both sides of the road. Bloody listened to Keagan wail and cry over the loss of his close companion, but Bloody couldn't do anything. “I fucking hate dogs.”
Not soon after he said that all four remaining vehicles were attacked by unseen forces, knocking every single one off the road and crashing into the roadsides. However, Bloody wasn't going down that easily, he reversed and came back into the road trying to shake the creature but it wasn't a werewolf. It was a Lycan.
It single-handedly removed the entire top of Bloody's car, roared at him, grabbed Ava and ran off. He was slightly disoriented from the crash but heard her yelling his name. Bloody took off his seatbelt when he saw a grenade on the empty seat. Thinking fast he jumped out merely missing an explosion that could've ended his life.
“Ava... Ava...” he called while she yelled his name.
“Bloody! Bloody help me! Bloody!” her screams faded as he blacked out.
