Chapter 52
AMELIA
“Please…” I moaned as I arched my hips helplessly, surrendering my body to him, begging for his mercy, begging him to make me come. And I was there, yet I was not. A frustrated groan tore from my throat, widening my shaking thighs farther for him.
“Tell me what you want, sweetheart.” He paused. His voice was deep and husky.
“You. I want you,” I said between pants, flexing my hips to his mouth.
“You have me, Amelia. I’m all yours.” His voice dropped to whisper before he tortured me again with his tongue and mouth.
I shuddered, feeling the coldness of air against my skin. I could smell his addicting scent and the scent of winter night. I could taste the sweetness in his kiss. I could hear the rapid breathing and every beat of his heart.
I made a long and slow pleading moan as I shut my eyes close. My body was stiffening, floating. At that moment, I knew I was so close to the edge. I could almost fly until someone nudged me to wake up.
I gasped. My heart was still beating fast. Another fucking dream and it closed to become a nightmare to me.
“Dream?” Ryden whispered to my ear, his warm breathing teased my still sensitive skin from the dream. His hand went to my lower abdomen, making my spine stiffen.
“Sorry if I wake you up.” My ears heated in embarrassment. My cheeks were probably red as a tomato. I held his hand and pulled it to my chest as I breathed deeply to calm my racing heartbeat.
“You were moaning in your sleep. Should I be worried?” There was a humor in his voice, and it didn’t settle right for me.
“Don’t be silly. I can’t even remember what it is about.” Every time I had a sex dream, I felt guilty. I felt like I was cheating on Ryden with another man, a man I’d never met yet he seemed to know me very well.
“Then let me make it real and make you feel good.” He kissed my exposed shoulder, making me shudder.
“Let’s go back to sleep. I prefer morning sex.”
“If you say so, ladybug.” He chuckled as he tightened his arm around me.
“Why are you here, Amelia?” Zarah looked at me with disinterest. “Trouble in paradise already?”
“More like trouble in my dreams.” I took a seat across from her at the long table in Sebastien’s office. A thick big book was open before her.
The dreams had to stop, and it started to drive me insane. When I was still single, I didn’t mind. Sometimes, I liked it, I enjoyed it since I didn’t have a sexual experience in real life.
“What is the dream all about? Is that why you look like you haven’t had enough sleep? I thought maybe you had a fun night with your mate.”
“We had fun every night, but my dreams start to piss me off. It’s always sexual.”
“Huh.” A small smile appeared on her lips. “Someone is playing games with you.”
“How can I stop it? Last night Ryden woke up me because he said I was moaning. I was completely embarrassed even if he didn’t know what my dream was all about. It was okay with me if I was dreaming about us, but I’d never seen the face of the man, and I was sure it wasn’t Ryden. I feel like I was cheating on him every time this man visited me in my dream.”
“It’s almost like a memory coming back to you.”
“What?” I stared at her, not even blinking. “I don’t think so. I never had any sexual relationship with other guys before Ryden, and he knows that.”
“Do you believe in reincarnation?”
“I guess so, but werewolf doesn’t reincarnate.” I shrugged.
“You’re right. It only happens one in a million. Are you sexually satisfied?”
I glared at her. “What kind of question is that? Of course, I am. I don’t think that’s the case. Before Ryden and I were together, I could answer your question with no. Right now, these dreams start to make me feel bad about my relationship. What’s wrong with me? Who’s sick psycho would do such a thing to me?”
“For a powerful woman, you seem helpless with dreams. You need protection. Sometimes, a powerful being can visit you in your dream or make it look like you are dreaming, but it happens in real life. Even an ordinary being who knows how to cast a dream spell can do that to you.”
“What should I do?”
“Are you willing to take an elixir to fall asleep? You can visit your dream and find the man who’s doing this to you, but you have to get it back quickly. If you are stuck there, you will fall into a deep slumber. Do you understand?”
“Yes.” I stood up quickly. “Can I hurt that man in my dreams?”
“You can’t kill him if he’s protected, but you can find him in real life.”
“Great. Let’s do it,” I said excitedly.
Zarah took me to one of the rooms in the castle. I lay straight in bed with my heart pumping so hard. I already took the pink elixir she gave me seconds ago, and I started to feel drowsy. My breathing became even, and my lids fell shut.
It was dark. I couldn’t see anything even if I tried adjusting my vision. I blindly searched for something before me that I could grab, and then I hit something, a wall. Then a doorknob. I twisted it and pulled the door open.
A blinding light hit my vision. Squinting, I shielded my eyes with my arm until I could clearly see what was before me.
It was a beautiful spring in the field. Flowers were blooming, butterflies were flying. The grass was greener, and it smelled fresh air and blossoms.
Then a young woman in a white floral dress with long wavy brown hair ran freely, not from fear, though. I could hear her rich laugh as if they were playing a chasing game.
The tall man appeared, chasing her. His dark hair reached the collar of his white shirt.
“Hey!” I ran faster toward them, and they didn’t hear me. “Hey! Can you hear me?”
I realized the faster I ran, the longer I couldn’t get to them.
I stopped running. I walked in their direction and looked at the woman, but I couldn’t see her face.
The man caught her on the waist, and he laughed too. It sounded strange because it seemed like I heard his voice before.
“Can you hear me?” I walked faster. It seemed that they had a life on their own. It felt like watching a movie that I could not interrupt them.
I grew frustrated and hopeless.
“Amelia?” I called her by my name hoping she could hear me this time.
The young woman stopped, and she turned to me. My heart nearly stopped as I watched her look at me, and she looked just like me. Then the man turned slowly. I only saw half of his face, but he had a straight nose, a facial hair, his brow was thick and dark, and I couldn’t figure out the color of his eyes, but he didn’t look so happy to see me. He was surprised, even shocked.
“Hey, what’s your name?”
I woke up, jolted to sit in bed, and breathed hard.
“Are you okay?” Zarah looked concerned as she handed me a glass of water.
I drank it empty and stared at her. “It doesn’t make a sense. I saw myself and a stranger. It feels like there’s a false memory in my head that keeps playing in my dreams because I don’t think I’ve met him before. Yet, somehow, each dream feels like I trust him. I even feel like I care for him, like I love him, but I don’t remember him, Zarah. At all.”
