Chapter 185
Chapter 185
AMELIA
“Amelia, what are you doing?” Lucius asked. I could hear the frustration in his angry voice. “We believe you can do it! Don’t give up on us now. It’s prophecized that you can defeat him.”
“So now you talk about prophecy, dickhead?” I glared up at him, towering me like a Greek god. Well, he was half-Greek.
“Stand up. That’s an order.”
“No. Tell me how did you know about this prophecy bullshit.”
“Believe in yourself and who you are. You can defeat him. This meant to happen, Amelia.”
I rolled my eyes. More cryptic than a cryptocurrency code. Great.
“I wasn’t bowing for him,” I said quietly and connected to Ryden’s link. “Shift back and grabbed the sword. Fight with me.”
“Okay, ladybug. Together.” He instantly came through the link.
I heard Samarah’s chant and said, “This sword will be as powerful as you.”
“Thank you, Samarah. I was wrong about you,” Ryden said to her. “And thank you for joining this fight.”
“There’s no place I’d rather be,” she said.
Zarah and Samarah began chanting, facing the demon.
“You said he’s slower now, Alexander Lucius. Then I’ll take it to my advantage.” I stole a glance at him.
His furious gaze pinned on the demon. His nose flared. The knuckles of his fists were white. But he believed in me, and that was what mattered.
“I’m ready,” Ryden said.
I drew a deep breath and lifted my chin. I felt the demon move, lowering his huge hand, and aiming at my head.
My power reverberated within me, engulfing me with such raw energy pulsing through my veins. As I pressed my fist against the earth, I felt the ground vibrating.
Before the motherfucker could grab my head and squeeze me like a tomato, I soared high up in the sky. No wings this time.
While he moved at a slow pace, Ryden was distracting him. I could feel the air rushing through me as I dove down fast with my fists aiming at the demon’s face. I slammed my fists as hard as I could. The power blasted on its cheek, snapping his head.
“Ryden, throw me the sword,” I told him through our link. As our gazes locked, he nodded and threw it within my reach. I caught it and hummed against my grip. Before the son of a bitch could recover, I slashed and slammed it against his arm. His devilish cry roared as its arm fell off.
“Tell me it won’t grow back.” I stared at everyone watching the giant demon. “Guys, aim at his feet!”
“The hell I know.” Ryden and everyone ran towards the demon.
I flew back up. I hadn’t gotten far when the demon grabbed me on my shoulder.
I gasped. Its claws dug and pierced into my flesh. I screamed in agonizing pain, trying to shake it off his grip, but no luck. I couldn’t swing my sword at it. I was pinned up.
I couldn’t breathe.
Unable to let go, I felt its anger as it crashed my flesh and bones and swung me around in an agonizing way. It seemed that this demon could sense my wings in his grip as it slashed me where they grew on my back. As it seemingly began to rip my invisible wing off, I screamed in the most excruciating pain I’d ever felt. Like someone just tore off a limb from my body.
While I struggled, my sword fell to the ground, but somehow when I needed help, everyone was there for me.
The demon finally released me. The intense pain erupted through my chest. The air trapped in my lungs as I hit the hard ground.
My body ached, arching my back, gasping, and wheezing in pain. My shoulder trembled. Then I scrambled to my feet.
I felt warm liquid trickle down my eyebrow, and I smelled blood. I probably got a cut on my hairline, but it wasn’t the worst part. The wound on my shoulder and back was bleeding, and it seemed pretty bad. Through my blurry sight, I watched them attack the demon, trying to climb on from his legs even if they were hurting from what it looked like its eroding skin was made of acid.
“Let me help.” Samarah came.
I let her, and I suddenly felt a rush of warmth on my shoulder, and I didn’t feel too much pain anymore.
“Thank you.”
“Amelia?”
I lifted my gaze. Lucius handed me my sword with his left hand offering me help.
“Thanks.” I gripped his hand to stand up and I grabbed my sword from him. “You should tell me how could you wield it.”
“When this is over, I’ll tell you everything you want to know. Fly, sweetheart. Fly, and aim from behind and his chest. Go while he’s preoccupied.”
“I just wanna let you know that I’m glad I met you again.” I smiled before I flew up.
While the demon was distracted with fighting werewolves, I landed on his shoulder blade thrust the sword into the back of his neck pulled it out, and stabbed him in the neck again and again.
“You mess the wrong Nephilim asshole.” Still incapacitated, I screamed as loud as I could, piercing his hearing. The shrilling from my voice sent shockwaves through the air, blasting the demon’s eardrums. I watched the pulsing of waves of energy around me, shaking trees and birds flying.
I thought of taking him to the hellhole he created and it didn’t work.
“You can’t trap me.” He roared, trying to cover his ear. His reaction scoured me.
Those broken windows were a sign of how powerful my voice could be when used as a weapon. I mean, literally. He then stumbled, wobbling his feet, making him more incapacitated, and nothing could stop me now from ending his demonic deeds.
He turned to me, a ferocity to his features like I’d never seen before. His eyes turned darker, a profound chasm.
I tried not to let my terror show. I didn’t give him a chance to fight back. I kicked him on his neck, giving me enough force to fly away. I put the sword back in the holster. Then I drew a deep breath and slammed my hands together, unleashing a blast of powerful blows that made the demon growl, its eyes widening. With full force, I dashed back onto him and stabbed the motherfucker into his eye.
