Chapter 178

Chapter 178
AMELIA

“Oh, Goddess.” I instantly sensed extreme fear everywhere. The pack was under attack. I pulled out the sword from my back and swung it at the wolf attacking Jaxon, pinning him to the ground. “Jaxon, don’t move!”

Jaxon froze. The wolf hadn’t seen me, and I took it to my advantage. The blade made a zing sound, piercing my ear. Its head nearly separated from its body.

“Amelia, we’re under attack!” Zeph said. My brother was one of the members who hadn’t shifted yet, but carrying a gun.

“Who are these people?” I asked him as he shot the werewolf in the head and watched him drop dead to the ground.

“The fuck I knew. I called Zarah, but the New York packs were also under attack. I couldn’t reach Alpha Knight.”

“Can you hold for a moment? Where are the others?”

“Women and children are already in the bunker. The rest of the guys are fighting at the borders. Where are you going?”

“Getting a reinforcement. It won’t be long.” I dialed Zarah, and she did not pick up, which left me only one choice. I walked back to the island. “We have a bigger problem. Zarah is not responding. All our allies are under attack simultaneously. There’s no way to go back there, but walk with me.”

“What the hell does it mean?” Hawk asked, confused.

“No time to explain. Hold on to me.”

“All at once?” Lucius’ brows arched.

“I haven’t tried it. Do you trust me?” I looked at them one by one, and they had the same reactions— confusion and doubt.

“Fuck it,” Drake put his hand on my shoulder.

“Ready when you are,” I said and imagined the football field.

“Holy shit!” Drake exclaimed, losing his balance, almost falling on his face if Hawk wasn’t fast enough to grab him by his shoulder.

“Is everyone accounted for?” I yelled at them as I was about to get a scratch by a female werewolf. I kicked her on her abdomen and jabbed my sword into her gut. She looked shocked as she was pinned to the ground.

“Watch out!” Drak called out.

“You fight the wrong side, bitch.” I pushed the blade, stepped on her chest, and pulled it out.

“Guys, is everyone here?” I called out again. “You can shift. I don’t think they’re possessed. Probably drugged, but who gives a shit right now. They attacked us in our territory.”

Theia shifted to her dark brown wolf and fought with a black male wolf. Bryan had almost the same wolf as hers only a little bigger and taller.

“Guston, you can go back to your territory and save your pack!” When a pack of five wolves arrived, Lucius grabbed a canister of antidote and threw it at them. “There’s a truck in front of the pack house.”

“It’s already too late,” Guston said in regret. “Most men are trained fighters. They can protect themselves.”

“I’ll take you there.” I looked at Ryden, who gave me a go signal.”

“All right. If my pack is safe, we’re coming back, and I’m bringing some guys,”

“Lucius, check your people.”

Lucius nodded at Ryden and picked up his phone.

I brought Guston before his pack house, but seemed his people were safe. After he called out everyone, at least five big guys, including Cop, Theo, and Otis. I managed to bring them back to my pack.

“They keep coming. Reede hasn’t reported yet. They are at the west border,” Zeph informed Ryden.

“Who’s covering the south?”

“Walker, Jeong Lee, and Emil. Landon, Kalel, and Trent are in the east, but so far, there has been no movement. I told them to stay alert.”

“How did they get in?”

“My guest the shield couldn’t hold on any longer.” I looked for Lucius, he was fighting hand-to-hand with a man a little older than him. I flinched as I heard a cracking sound.

He pinned the man to the ground and stomped on the chest. The guy still fought really hard until Lucius snapped his head.

“Fucking bastard!” He spat on the dead man in anger.

“Is your pack okay?”

“Yeah. They’re safe. Margaret just opened a portal earlier while you were with Guston. He’s gathering half of the fighters to bring here. I think all your allies are targeted, except Guston’s. My guest, Victor, or whoever sold you out didn’t know your connection. Dane and Kailin went to help at the vineyards.”

“So those assholes?” I looked at the five werewolves who Lucius had thrown a cure earlier. “Not drug-altered?”

“Nah. This is a coordinated attack by other packs who are still loyal to Victor. The director wouldn’t do this without using his demons and drugs.”

I stared at Lucius. “I have an idea, but once this area is secured.”

“Ren, let’s check the border, and I want to avail the monkey king ride.” Nora smiled. “Pretty please?”

I couldn’t help but smile despite our pack being under attack. “Check the west. I think they’re in trouble.”

The loud growl behind me erupted. It was Ryden just shifted who ran towards the crack. Another pack of werewolves just arrived.

“Hey, just be careful.” I didn’t think he heard me.

“How many packs are they exactly coming to kill you all?”

“I wish I knew. I’m afraid Reede is dead.” I watched Ryden throw a wolf into the pit. “How long are your fighters gonna arrive, Lucy?”

“Don’t call me that, angel.”

”Zeph, who watch the main gate?” I ran towards Ryden who was about to be bitten by two wolves attacking him.

“Dad and Ryden’s!” He shot the last wolf before it could lunge into Ryden.

“Ryden, duck!” I jumped high, landing just before him. The moment he ducked, I swung the sword, barely an inch passed over his head, and the blade cut the wolf through its neck. Blood sprayed from his jugular, bathing on Ryden’s wolf head. “Not my mate, asshole!”

The attacker fell to the ground, lifeless.

A gasp escaped my lips as a huge tall black wolf passed behind me. A loud growl roared before it bit the wolf in the neck. The wolf made a single whine before it got thrown into the trench. Its cry echoed and vanished.

The black wolf snarled at me, baring his long and sharp fangs at me.

“What is your problem? I’m helping my mate?” When he narrowed his icy blue eyes at me, I narrowed back. “Stop looking at me. I can take care of myself. Go hunt some dogs!”

Ryden summoned the fire in his wolf as he ran towards the coming wolves. Lucius’ black wolf followed him. I realized they weren’t enemies as they sat and lowered their heads to the two alphas. They were Lucius’ reinforcement. Even the giant man with a Slavic accent was here.

“Welcome to the pack!” I scratched Lucius’ head. “Thank you.”

“Amelia!” Theia came already in a robe while Bryan was in shorts. “Your dad is wounded, but we’ve secured the front gate. He got wounded saving me.”

“How bad?” I swallowed hard. My heart nearly stopped.

“He got bitten on his leg. He lost a lot of blood. We brought him to the infirmary. Your mother is there.”

“Thanks, Theia!” I ran back to the pack house. I notice the ladies are with Maddie and their guns.

“Anything we can help?” Eliza asked.

“Just keep the pack house secured. Be careful, we have guests and you might shoot them.”

“Hey. Your father is in the infirmary.” Maddie came to hug me.

“Thanks. I have to check if they need my help.” I rushed to enter the infirmary. Mom was surprised to see me. “How’s Dad?”

“Why are you here? Your people need your help more than we do.”

“I know, Mom.” I hugged her from behind. “Is he okay?”

Dad was grimacing as Mom cleaned the huge bite on his leg. “I’ll live, honey. You should go and help them. Kill those bastards, and don’t hesitate.”

I nodded. “Reede and the guys with him haven’t reported yet. Ren and Nora are on their way now. I’m tired of getting attacked. I need to find the men responsible for these killings.” I looked at Mom and Dad one more time before I walked towards the door. Then I remembered something that I needed to say. “Mom, Dad?”

“What is it, honey?” Dad asked while Mom was waiting for my answer.

“Thank you for taking me home with you the day you found me in the hospital bed. I’m the luckiest baby to ever find a beautiful family like you have.” I smiled and dashed out of the pack house.

“Amelia!” Lucius shifted back, already in his sweatpants.

“What do you want?”

“You can’t be cocky while fighting.”

“Thanks, Sensei.” I stopped and faced him. “What does that sigil mean? It wasn’t there for weeks. Then I remember.” I pointed at his neck. “I saw you before I came six months ago. We stopped in traffic, and the first thing I smelled was your scent which woke me up in the truck. Then when I looked outside the window, I saw that sigil.” When he just stared at me, I added, “You know a lot more about magic than you let on. What’s that sigil for?”
