Chapter 203

Chapter 203
THIRD PERSON POV

Stephan had just gotten to the corridor. He looked left and right to be sure he was not followed before facing a wall to recite the chant Varkas gave him as the passcode to access Lyra’s room, where she was kept. It was a direct connection to the room from the palace walls, but it was along a public corridor. Just as he was about to open his mouth, Ryker approached. Stephan paused, waiting for Ryker to walk past, but soon he couldn’t hide the confusion in his eyes as Ryker approached him.

“Stephan, right? You work for Beta Varkas.” He stopped directly in front of Stephan, who held a basket of what appeared to be food. His eyes darkened as he noticed the contents of the basket were some of what Lyra liked to eat ever since the pregnancy. He clenched his jaw and forced a smile. “I need your help with something. Come with me,” He ordered and walked ahead. When he walked a few steps and noticed Stephan staying put behind, he angled his head to the side and asked without turning.

“What are you waiting for? Do you not know who stands before you?” Only then did Stephan snap out of his daze. He looked at the basket in his hand and followed behind Ryker with his head bowed. He cursed in his heart at his sour luck this morning. It only meant that Luna’s breakfast would be delayed. He was worried about what Varkas would do to him if he found out he hadn’t seen Lyra as at when he was meant to. Ryker took him to a set of corridors that were prohibited to lower-ranked wolves like himself. He realized all too quickly that they were going to King Dimirtri’s private lair.

Stephan’s fear spiked as the air around this side of the palace walls became very thick and oppressive. He swallowed and hurried into step beside Ryker. “Alpha King,” He stuttered. His voiceaounded low. “What do you need me for?”

Ryker smiled. “It’s simple, actually. I need your help in caging a dog.”

“A dog?” Stephan’s eyes widened, but his shoulders visibly relaxed as he walked on. They approached a room, and Ryker motioned with his head for them to enter. Stephan placed the basket containing the food he was told to deliver to Lyra by the door and went in with Ryker after him.

Stephan looked around, noticing that there was no dog in sight despite seeing a cage that was too large for a dog with chains. He suddenly tensed up.

“This place—it looks like where a beast was kept.” As he turned to face Ryker, he noticed Ryker’s lips curled into a snarl. His eyes widened as he realized he had been cornered. Just then, a hand shot out from behind him and knocked him unconscious with silver dust.

Stephan’s body was dragged and chained with the silver chains. The room was fortified and blocked mind-links. Not to mention that there was a spell in the room. So as long as a werewolf was chained in there, he was bound by the curse of immobility. He could never cross the room or escape until the chains were removed by a third party.

Dimitri strategically moved guards to places in the palace that were entrée portals for anyone within the palace walls. They were explicitly not to leave their position, no matter what. The new development came as a surprise to Varkas. When he asked Dimitri what was up with the guards in the new locations, Dimitri had simply said,
“I am preparing for the unexpected, Varkas. My daughter was kidnapped under my roof and vanished into thin air. If I can place guards every two steps in this goddamn palace, I will.”
Varkas nodded, and when he tried to leave, Dimitri called out
“Varkas, I know you’ve been busy looking for my daughter lately, so I barely see you. You’ve been working so hard. Stay with me a while.” He sighed.
“Yes, my King,” He bowed slightly and took a seat on the couch opposite while Dimitri sat like the perfect heartbroken father.
Meanwhile, Lief was wrapping up the secret cameras he had installed not just in Varkas’ room but also in his study. After a while, Varkas mentioned breakfast.
“Ah. It’s indeed past time for breakfast—” Dimitri spoke disinterestedly. Varkas took it upon himself to order breakfast to Dimitri’s study. After breakfast, Dimitri handed over some files to Varkas. “Here. Help me handle this pack business for now. I’ve been too occupied to think straight. And Ryker, he is having a hard time with everything that's going on.” He said and looked up at Varkas. Varkas paused, then took the files with a nod hen bowed and left without a word.
As soon as he stepped out of Dimitri’s study, he noticed al entrée points where he had created portals to access the sealed part of the palace where the Viviarium sanctum was still manned by guards. He let out a frustrated sigh and went back to his room. If this continued, it meant he would have to leave the palace grounds and take the longer route, through the underground sewer system.

He tried to mind-link Stephan but heard the static lien and figured Stephan was also stuck in that place, probably waiting for an opening out of there.

Alright. Just a few hours. He muttered. He walked to his study and sat in front of his laptop. He glanced through the files and worked.
After what seemed like an hour or two of concentrating on work, Varkas stopped and opened his laptop, clicking on some keys, then opened a video of Lyra having her bath, then he slowly began to stroke his dick while calling her name.
Varkas didn’t stop there. He stroked his dick harder and watched Lyra’s naked form lustfully and jerked harder, groaning her name over and over again. There was no mistaking that he was jerking off Lyra’s nakedness.

“Mine—” Varkas groaned as he got to his climax. His eyes glazed with lust as he stared at her frame, pausing the video when she turned towards the direction of the camera she hadn’t noticed. “Soon, you will watch me fuck you. I’m getting impatient.” He spoke, leaning as he leaned closer to kiss her lips on the screen.

Unknown to him, in Ryker’s and Dimitri’s room respectively, he was being watched.
Ryker’s jaw tensed. “This motherfucker!” He cursed under his breath.
Just as Ryker was about to shift to his wolf in rage, Dimitri’s voice broke through his mind. “Imagine how many ways you’re going to make him pay. But for now, stay calm.”
