Chapter 44 STOPPED BREATHING!

Chapter 44 STOPPED BREATHING!
Warning: Chapter contains violence and graphic scenes.

Aaron’s POV

My gaze locked onto Erica. A smirk tugged at my lips as I crossed my legs and sipped my alcohol drink, slow and calm.

“Should we intervene?” Tee asked through the wire-tapped pods in my ears.

“Yeah, boss, should we help her?” Ted added.

I sneered. Help? She was the one swinging a broken bottle at a casino dealer without a hint of fear.

Those men should be the one terrified of her.

“What a show,” I muttered, taking another sip.

The first guy rushed her, but Erica cracked another bottle on his skull. He stumbled back, blood dripping down his forehead.

“Stay back! This is between me and that fat pig!” she screamed. The room shifted, everyone stepped away but the rage in her eyes… it was familiar. Like it was tuck with me.

“Erica, you’re at a disadvantage here! Drop the glass!” the fat man warned as he approached.

A dark cackle escaped her lips her face twisted with disgust. “Disadvantage? You have no idea what I can do. Killing you wouldn’t mean a damn thing to me.”

But suddenly, the bottle slipped from her hand and shattered. Her knees buckled and the guards grabbed her. My gaze darkened—because they used the moment to touch her where they shouldn’t. Blood-thirst crawled up my spine.

“See? A huge disadvantage,” the fat man taunted.

Erica glared, her voice cracking, “What did you give me?!”

His lips curled. “You’ll find out in the room.”
He waved his hand, and the guards carried her off like a prey.

“Everyone, continue enjoying!” he announced, laughter rising in the room like rot.

“What do we do with her?” his assistant whispered.

“Tie her to the bed. The investor will arrive soon,” the fat man replied and I caught every word by reading his lips.

“Boss, should we move in—”

I stood up, already walking. “Get your things ready.”

“Yes, boss,” they responded.

I reached the bathroom getting my gun ready… and paused as two men stepped in.

“God, she’s still alive after all these years.”

“Well, the sponsor takes her tonight.”

Their words made My jaw tightened, I stepped forward.

“Where is she?” I demanded, raising my pistol and both men froze, staring at me through the mirror.

“I—I don’t know!” the first stuttered.

I clicked the gun. The sound made their bodies lock up.

“Wait!” the second man blurted. “Speak,” I ordered.

He turned slowly. “I’ll tell you—”

My vision caught movement. His hands, reaching for his gun.

I moved instantly, slipping behind the stalls as bullets tore through the bathroom doors.

“Someone’s armed in here!” the first man shouted into his walkie-talkie.

The second flung open the stall door—I grabbed his arm, dragged him forward, and smashed my elbow into his face. He staggered, reaching for his weapon—

Bam! Bam!

My bullets tore through his hand. His scream echoed off, before he could recover, I put one clean shot through his skull, watching a blood seeped out. He thud to the ground.

I turned my gun to the first man. “Speak.”

“H-she’s upstairs! The room upstairs!” he whimpered, his hands shaking.

“Please… don’t kill me—” my hands lowered slowly but....

BAM BAM.

Bullets ripped through the door. I dodged aside, but he didn’t. His body jerked from twenty shots before hitting the floor in a wet thud, in his own blood. My gaze lingered for a while.....I slipped behind another stall, listening as the door creaked open.

“Move in,” someone ordered.

Three men entered.

I stepped out swift, and lethal dropping all three to the ground dead, as my bullets pierced their hearts, heart and rips. I collected their guns and stepped over the bodies, but paused as a glint caught my eye. The first man, I wanted to let him go, he was honest, something shined beside him.

I crouched and picked up a small photo. A little girl, about five maybe.

His phone buzzed in his pocket.

\[Dad will you be home early? Did uncle get the job for you?\] My eyes remained cold staring.....Another message: \[Mom’s with me.\]

My jaw tightened. I shut the phone off and pocketed it.

No time for sulking, I adjusted my mask and walked out.

Bam. Bam. My bullets met hearts and skulls as I moved through the hall like a demon.

“Boss, we found the money,” Tee said.

“Take it. Everyone wait outside.” I said through the wire-taped pods. My gaze snapped as I sighted the fat man, escaping.

'Ten minutes'. That’s all I needed.

I caught him easily, grabbed him by the ea, watching as he screamed like a cornered rat.

“Wait! I have money....anything. Don’t kill me!” he begged and a wicked grin formed on my lips. “I wouldn’t…”

His eyes brightened. “Really?”

“Not yet.”

His hope cracked, I stared as the blood from his face drain ...yet I slammed his head against the wall. Once..... Twice.

“Where is she?” I growled. His face dropped with blood and disfigured. “W-who—?”

Wrong answer. I slammed him again.

“There! There!” he finally cried, pointing toward the upstairs hall.

I turned but a bullet tore through the air. I dodged, but it buried itself in the fat man’s chest.

“Useless,” I hissed in his ear.

“No—please—”

Pow. Pow.

Two bullet to his rib. And finally his skull. I gazed as his head burst, brain particles splattering the wall and my mask.

......The shooter fell down the stairs moments later, his skull shattered on the ground, my silent shot earlier had done it job....but a woman stood trembling nearby, staring at the dead man.

I lifted a finger to my lips. "Leave" She nodded and ran.

I moved up the stairs.

First door: only the screams of a terrified woman welcomed her, scrambling to cover herself. I slammed the door shut.

Second door: Another woman, naked...her pussy buried deep onto a man's dk, her gaze widened in fear asse sighted my gun.

.....The third door, my boot kicked it open.

And there Erica laid, strapped to the bed, struggling, and clearly drowsy. My chest tightened. The scene made my blood boil.

I rushed to her. “Erica? Look at me.” She mumbled gibberish instead, her cheeks flushed were red, and her breath shaky.

I cut through the ropes, she collapsed into my chest, her arms wrapping around me weakly.

“I feel… sick” she whispered.

My eyes dropped to her ski, hot her temperature was burning high

“GHB,” I muttered. “Gamma-hydroxybutyrate. That bastard drugged you.”

My pulse hastened in anger, I reached for her hand but froze

Her chest wasn’t moving.....Erica stopped breathing!
